Calicut University Admission 2023: MA
Calicut University MA admission is based on the entrance exam conducted by the University. Available in over 20 specialisations, this is a two-year programme. However, there are a few MA programmes that consider other factors as well while final selection. For all MA specialisations, OBC/OEC students are eligible to relaxation up to 5% and SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass. The minimum eligibility criteria required to pursue Calicut University MA for General category candidates is as follows:

Poor facilities are available.
Placements: More than 60 percent of students were placed, and a few students got internships in other sectors with the highest salary package of 9.4 lacks per annum and the lowest package of 2.3 lacks per annum. Top companies like Wipro, TCS, IBM, Deloitte, etc. visit our college. Top roles offered are Socialist, Researcher, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is good, but better facilities are available like Wi-Fi, food, classrooms, departments, labs, etc. The mess and canteen are very hygienic, and a medical kit is available. Sports and games are conducted, and cultural events are included.
Faculty: Lectures are very good, and they have knowledge in teaching. They have completed higher education. The teaching quality is professional. Our course is curriculum-relevant. The exams are very difficult, and we have to study daily to get a good score. The passing percentage is 50 percent of marks in our college.

Review of M.E.S Asmabi College.
Placements: The government provides many scholarships and stipends. Ph.D. and M.Phil students get more stipends. If they achieve JRF, they get Rs. 30,000. Many MNCs visit our college for placements. Many students get placements in MNCs through college authorities. Our college faculty members' behaviour is very good.
Infrastructure: We have good labs and a library.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified. They have years of experience. Most of the faculty members achieved a philosophy doctorate, postal doctorate, and master of philosophy degrees. They completed their Ph.D. degrees from foreign universities. The university administers each student in the affiliated colleges by central admission process cap. It is known as the central admission process.
Other: Freshers days, Onam celebration, Christmas celebration, physics association, maths association, botany association, commerce association Aqua culture association, science day, fine arts college day, and Eid celebration are held in our college. Our college gives importance to sports and extracurricular activities. The volleyball team and university champions got first runner-ups in India's National University volleyball tournament.

Placements: Placements: The percentage of students placed in our course is 67%. The highest package is 35 LPA, the lowest package is 2 to 3 LPA, and the average package is in the range of 20 to 25 LPA for skilled students in the relevant field. The top recruiting companies are Amazon, Flipkart, and KPMG, among others. The top roles include administration, economic development, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure: Classrooms are good and they are well facilitated. Computer labs are well-equipped with Wi-Fi facilities. The library is small but it has an average collection of books relevant to our discipline. Currently, the college is not providing any hostel facilities. The college canteen is small but it provides a variety of food items at a reasonable price. Colleges have limited play grounds. Sports and games such as cricket, volleyball and badminton are encouraged here.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good. The course
curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry ready. Semesters exams in our college are not too tough, but cheating is noy allowed here. 70% students pass.
Other: Placements: Every year, over 30+ students join our M.A. English course at the college. The highest package offered is between 6 to 8 LPA, and the lowest package offered range from 2.4 to 3 LPA. Recruiting companies like Metricfox, GAO Tek, Gandhavalla Informatics, and many new companies are recruiting. Sixty-four percent of students secure internships. Infrastructure: The college facilities are extensive, and the infrastructure is very good, fulfilling all student requirements. There are standard washrooms for the department and Wi-Fi available only for teachers; students do not have access. The hostel provides excellent facilities including good washrooms, water, and food. Sports training for students is also well-supported.

Placements: Our college never provides any placements for students. This is the major drawback of our college. The college does not offer any assistance or resources for finding placement or internship opportunities, leaving students to fend for themselves in securing practical work experience or job placements after post-graduation.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is above average. The college has Wi-Fi connectivity all over the campus. It has a central library with a vast collection of books and digital resources, providing ample opportunities for research. However, there is no hostel facility for girls.
Faculty: The course is for 2 years and contains four semesters. The pass percentage is 40%. The criticism papers are very difficult, but more interesting topics and subjects are included, like Indian English writing and American writing. The faculty is really supportive, and they are all highly qualified, with most holding Ph.D.s in their respective fields.
Other: The college has a very good campus and peaceful atmosphere. The college conducts paper presentations each semester. The college union organizes arts days, sports days, Onam celebrations, other festivals, and charity works.

Faculty: The best teachers in the city are provided with abundant resources, and the curriculum follows government guidelines. The teachers are highly qualified. Our college course curriculum is relevant to economics, providing practical knowledge to make students industry-ready. The semester exams are challenging to pass, with a passing percentage of 63%.

The highest package offered by companies is 14 LPA, the lowest package is 1.5 LPA, and the average is 5.5 LPA. Good campuses provide internships, and there is a high demand for top roles on campus.
Infrastructure: Good quality facilities are available for this department, including classrooms, a library, labs, playgrounds, a canteen, Wi-Fi, hostels, and systems. The food quality in canteens, hostels, and mess halls is average. Sports and game competitions are conducted regularly. The infrastructure in my college is well-maintained.

Semester exams are written well, thanks to the thorough preparation by the staff members, and the pass percentage in my department is more than 50%. Yes, Calicut University allows its students to re-take semester examinations if they are not happy with the score they have attained and want to improve their final marks. The improvement examinations happen after the announcement of the results of each semester.
