Here's a summary of the key points:

Pros:
* Quality education: Students praise the teaching quality, saying it's "super awesome" and that teachers are knowledgeable and helpful.
* Relevant curriculum: The course curriculum is 60-70% relevant to the industry, making it useful for career growth.
* Campus life: The campus is green, and there are regular events and fests, such as Hindu festivals, tech fests, and cultural programs.
* Friendly atmosphere: Students appreciate the supportive environment, stating that everyone, including seniors and faculty members, forms a close-knit community.
* Scholarship opportunities: Merit-based scholarships are available to eligible students.

Cons:
* Limited on-campus placement: While some companies visit the campus, the majority of students find internships and jobs through off-campus efforts.
* Placement variability: Placement packages vary, ranging from INR2.5 LPA to INR3.8 LPA, depending on the company.

Overall, while Utkal University's BCA programme has its limitations, it appears to provide a solid foundation in software development, data analysis, and related fields. With hard work and dedication, students can leverage these skills to secure decent placement opportunities.

For those interested in pursuing a dual degree (BCA + MCA), Utkal University offers a unique opportunity to complete both degrees in five years at a relatively lower cost compared to other institutions.

Ultimately, whether it's worth pursuing BCA at Utkal University depends on individual goals, priorities, and circumstances. We recommend weighing the pros and cons carefully and considering factors like placement trends, course relevance, and campus culture before making an informed decision.

Faculty is very good but no good placements are provided.
Placements: 20-30% students get placement. The highest salary offered was 40k per month, the lowest was 10k per month and average is 15-25k per month. Top recruiting companies are TATA, Lalchannd Jewellers & local companies. Top roles offered in our course is field officer, marketing head, business development consultant, HR manager etc. The highest package offers was 6lakh, the lowest 2lakh and average 4lakh per annum. Students got internship in NALCO, TATA, Lalchand jewellers, MCL, Extramarks etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of department is average. Wi-Fi connection is everywhere in department @50-60mb per second. There is a library in the department with all books available. Hostel facility is very good. No special canteen for each hostel, but a common canteen for the whole university and many more options for food near the university campus. One dispensary is available inside the university campus where primary facilities are available. There is a sports club and sports persons can participate in many outdoor games like football, badminton, cricket, kabaddi, basketball and volleyball etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful with doctorate degree with a vast knowledge. Teaching quality is very good. This course curriculum is relevant. To get industry ready, students have to do internship. Semester exams are done with a systematic manner with moderate level of questions. The passing percentage is 40% in every subject & 50% aggregate.
Other: I have decided to do this course because I am interested in business. I want to do a start up. Therefore, I can learn a lot things here. The best thing in this course is the subjects i.e. very helpful for a business and corporate. Practical experience of students should improved by the department that is not happening. So many events are happening from department side & from university side also. A political surrounding is here. Students can apply for scholarship at state scholarship portal with the help of department. Extra curriculum activities are actually nice.

Utkal is the best government college of Odisha.
Placements: There are a total of 60 seats and to enroll in it, you need to pass an entrance exam, which is not that difficult. I joined in 2021 so my course fees are 30,000 each for 3 years and 40,000 each for 2 years. But now it's 40000 and 50000. Few companies are looking for placement. Internships are allowed with whatever company you want to work for.
Infrastructure: We have a hostel on campus near the department. With Wi-Fi facilities all over the campus and a library, the classroom is in good condition, with 2 meals a day and an outside canteen with delivery facilities. For sports, indoor and outdoor markets are available; for medicine, 2-3 markets are available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, understand our problems and help us during classes and exams as well. Exams are not that tough; everything is thought about in the class. Maximum students get a pass. As teachers, they help us in everything so for industry, they make us ready.
