Uttarakhand Residential University (URU) is a state university located at Almora, Uttarakhand. It was esatblished under Act No. 20 of 2016. It is the second residential university in Uttarakhand following Doon University, and modeled after Jawaharlal Nehru University. The University is UGC approved and offers full-time degree and vocational programmes at UG level along with diploma programmes. Admissions to the University is based on the scores obtained in University-based entrance exams.
