XGMT Exam Pattern 2025: Check Latest Marking Scheme & Exam Duration

The X-GMT exam also known as Xavier General Management Aptitude Test is a computer-based test (CBT) to assess the aptitude of candidates in various fields such as decision-making, logical reasoning, and problem-solving. The exam is conducted in various centres across six cities in India.

XGMT exam comprises multiple choice questions, also known as the objective type questions. Candidates appearing for the XGMT exam will find questions from four sections, including

• Quantitative Aptitude
• Data Interpretation
• Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning
• Emotional Quotient and General Awareness

All four sections have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Candidates appearing for the XGMT exam will find four answer options for each question. Out of these answer options one option will be correct. Candidates marking the correct answer option will fetch (+)3 marks. On the contrary, if a candidate marks an incorrect response, he/she will have to face a penalty of 1 mark each incorrect response.

XIM University conducts X GMT exam every year. Therefore, the exam pattern is also designed by XIM University for this MBA entrance test. The exam is conducted for candidates aspiring for MBA admission in XIM University. Aspirants need to apply for the XGMT exam on the official website. Besides the XGMT exam, MBA admission at XIM University is also possible through other national level entrance exams.

XGMT exam is an online MCQ based test conducted for MBA admission. Candidates need to choose one correct option out of four answer options available in the XGMT exam. The marking scheme for XGMT exam is mentioned below:

• 3 marks are awarded for each correct answer marked by the candidate
• 1 mark is deducted for everty incorrect answers marked by the candidate
• No negative marking prevails for the unattempted questions in the XGMT exam

XGMT exam has four sections, including Quantitative Aptitude that accesses the math skills and logic through:

• Basic math (percentages, averages)
• Algebra (equations, inequalities)
• Number properties (divisibility, prime numbers)
• Geometry (areas, volumes - less common)
• Data analysis (interpreting charts & graphs)
• Probability (arrangements, combinations)

XGMT exam will have around 100 to 125 MCQ type questions to be answered within 120 minutes. Candidates must note that they will have an average of about 1.2 minutes to answer each question. However, It's important to note that the exact number of questions may vary across different shifts of the exam. The time allotted remains 120 minutes, that is two hours, to answer all the questions that appear in the admission test.

This means that candidates will have to be proficient in English language to understand and answer the questions. Additionally, all the answer options for the questions will also be in English medium.
