Introduction  

Christ (Deemed to be University), founded in 1969, is a deemed university, with its main campus in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was known as Christ College earlier. It is a UGCrecognized and NAAC-accredited college. The university has over 800 faculty members and admits over 25,000 students every year. It offers undergraduate, post-graduate, and research programmes at each of its campuses. All Christ campuses have a well-equipped infrastructure to promote academic and cultural activities. The Christ campuses have facilities for research studies; a library and information centres consisting of books and journals on multiple disciplines, which can be accessed by students of the university; IT offering services in admission process, online classes, live streaming of events, ERP, library, LMS, and Wi-Facility around the campus; research labs for each department on each campus of Christ; one main auditorium with a large seating capacity and state-of-the-art facilities; mini auditoriums, amphitheatres, open-air theatres, galleries and CHRISTITE magazines. Each campus has its own hostel facilities, separate for male and female students. An NCC cadet programme is run by Christ and is open to male and female students to imbibe a sense of responsibility among the students. It is ranked 19th in the NIRF 2021 ranking list.

Dress Code  

Christ has a stringent dress code policy to imbibe a sense of unity and homogeneity among the students. The dressing system is followed to conform to the norms of decorum befitting a temple of higher learning. Grooming is considered an important part of professional training as an academic institution. Considering this, the students are expected to dress modestly in accordance with the department/programme requirements.

Male college students: The dress code for male students includes formal shirts, trousers and sandals or shoes. The students are also expected to wear a tie, but it is not mandatory.

Female Students: The dress code for the female students includes a salwar kameez with dupatta, a churidar and a long kurta. Formal uniforms or saris are worn as per the specifications of the respective departments.

Q:   Is CUET compulsory for Christ University?

A:

Christ University Entrance Test (CUET) is an undergraduate entrance test conducted for admission to various courses such as BSc, BTech, BBA, BCom, etc. Christ University will release the Christ University Entrance Test schedule online. Students need to appear for the test and secure a valid score in it. The selection process of these courses consists of Christ University Entrance Test, Skill Assessment Test, Micro Presentation and Personal Interview. 

Q:   What is the minimum qualification required to pursue E-MBA from Christ University Bangalore?

A:

 In order to be eligible for E-MBA from Christ University Bangalore, candidates must have the following:

  • Any UG degree with at least 50% aggregate
  • Candidates must be working currently in Bangalore with at least 2 years of work experience OR At least one-year work experience with a valid score in one of the exams considered under the eligibility (MAT/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ GRE)

Q:   Can I join MBA in Christ University without entrance exam?

A:

To join MBA in Christ University it is mandatory for candidates to secure a valid score for admission, as admission process involves entrance exam. Under the Management stream, Christ Bangalore offers a two-year MBA to the students along with three MBA integrated courses in collaboration with FHWS (Germany), Western Michigan University (USA) and Virginia Commonwealth University (USA). 

What is not allowed?

The students are not allowed to wear t-shirts, low-waist pants, cargo pants, jeans, or sleeveless outfits. Transparent, tight, and loose attire are generally not considered appropriate. Students who do not adhere to the dress code are not entertained on the campus or during any professional visits organized by the university.

The students are not allowed to incorporate body piercings, tattoos, or fancy hair colouring into their looks.

Identity Card  

All the students of Christ are issued an identity card in the form of a smart card in collaboration with the South Indian Bank. Every student is also issued a wearable ID card, which is part of the dress code/uniform of Christ and which is expected to be worn at all times by the student inside the campus. Entry into the campus, buildings, and classrooms is only permitted through the ID card, with the card being clearly visible. The students are expected to carry the identity card at all times, especially during the examinations.

Cultural Festivities/Convocation

The students are expected to dress properly for all the cultural activities like Ethnic Day and Convocation. The dress code for the convocation is black trousers and a white shirt for the male students, and the dress code for female students includes a white/off-white sari with a white blouse. The Ethnic Day dress code is Kurta-Pyjama for male students and Sari for female students.

Christ University eligibility varies course-wise. Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for UG courses. Graduation is required to apply for CU PG programmes. Below is the eligibility criteria for top Christ University Bangalore courses:

  • 450 or above in GMAT
  • 295 or above in GRE

In the field of Management and Commerce & Accounting, Christ Deemed-to-be University offers three BBA programmes at the UG level. Admission criteria regarding admission to all these courses are as follows:
