My Journey at MCNUJC: From Admission to the Present Day
My college journey started in June 2022 by joining the BCA batch at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University. I can say, looking from a distance, that it has truly been an amazing experience of taking up challenges, learning, and making memories that have altogether helped shape me into who I am today.
The Start: Admitting Day
I remember my first day at the college very well. On one hand, there was the thrill of a new academic adventure, on the other, there was fear and excitement. The admission process was also an achievement for me. As soon as I saw my admission confirmation, I experienced a rush of pride and enthusiasm that warranted embarking on this new chapter of life.
On my first day of college, I was overwhelmed by the energy of the place. The lively streets, the friendly faculty and the scene of students engaged in things painted a scene of a world brimming over with potential. I really wanted to discover where I fit in this vibrant world and utilise my college years to the best ability.
Adjustment to College Life
The first few days were all about adjustments—getting familiar with the campus, the course curriculum and meeting new people. My professors helped me feel comfortable, and their commitment and assistance motivated me to seek learning with a positive attitude.
Making friends was another major part of this phase. I was very hesitant at first, but soon realised how diverse and talented my peers were. Common experiences and shared work on projects allowed me to create close ties which still maintain today.
Academic Growth
The BCA program provided me with a curriculum that both intellectually challenged me and allowed me to gain a sound appreciation of computer use. Areas such as Programming Languages, Data Structures and Database Management Systems, at first appeared to be daunting, but eventually became necessary fields of study.
One of the pivotal moments in my academic life was the discovery of Coding. Writing my first functional program gave me immense satisfaction and confidence. With time, I began to engage in Coding challenges and collaborative projects, which didn't just develop my technical skills, but also my collaborative skills.
A further important component of the experience was hands-on practical learning. Every project and assignment compelled me to think deeply and in different ways in preparation for problems outside of class.
Above Academics
Although academics formed an essential part of my college life, various other activities were also integral to that experience. I attended cultural events, seminars, and workshops on a regular basis. It really brought a refreshing element and enhanced my ability to know one's creative and leadership capacity.
Challenges and Lessons Learned
Like any journey, my college experience was not without its challenges. Managing deadlines, keeping up with studies, and maintaining a balance between academics and personal life often felt overwhelming.
Another challenge was the pandemic, resulting in classes shifting to an online format for a few months. Virtual learning demanded a lot of discipline and self-motivation.
Future Plans
Time spent at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University has equipped me to face the future, with confidence and equipping skills for excellence in the field of Technology.
At the end of my course, I am ready to plunge into the professional world. Even though I am looking forward to all the positive possibilities which await in the future, I realised that the base work I did in my college days is still the most valuable asset for me.
In conclusion, my undergraduate experience has been, at the very least, profoundly experiential. From the nervousness of the first day to the confidence I feel today, every moment has been a step toward becoming the best version of myself. I am so honoured to be a member of this wonderful university. I will always remember the experiences, friendships and wisdom I have accumulated during my time here.
