An Expert Committee constituted by the School will assess the aptitude and talent of the candidates & its decision will be final. Any canvassing in this regard will be treated as a disqualification. Yes, there is a reservation criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non -creamy layer) /PwD and other categories in NSD exam. Out of 29 seats, 4 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled castes (SC); 2 seats are reserved for scheduled tribes (ST); 7 seats are reserved for OBC (Non-creamy layer as notified by the Government), 3 seats are reserved for EWS; and reservation for PwD and other categories, as per government of India rules.

NSD 2025 Syllabus for all three years
Students who want to study at NSD for the three-year diploma course in Dramatic Arts will be offered a theatre training program that includes both practical and theoretical knowledge. The NSD Syllabus 2025 is inspired by various eminent theatre personalities who helped to shape the theatre world in all types of expressions and forms such as modern theatre in abroad and India, specialised training in Indian theatre traditions, broad-based training in classical dramatic traditions in the west and India and traditional and folk theatre of India.
NSD 2025 Course: Important Details
As per the previous year course available on the official website of Nationa School of Drama, the students need to report to the campus between 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, daily from Monday to Friday. The first two weeks will be related to a consolidated traning and then the third and the fourth week will be related to the the exposure in different areas of specialisation.
Once, the fourth week in about to end the students need to choose the specialization that they would like to pursue till the end of the three-year diploma course in dramatic arts. Once choosen, no candidate is allowed to change their specilisation. Based on the requirement students need to present their original testimonials. Q: What is the provision for foreign candidates interested in taking admission through NSD exam?
Foreign students may take admission in the course. However, because of the limited number of seats, it is not feasible to accommodate more than one or two foreign students in each session. Such students have to submit their applications through the Indian Embassy/High Commission in their respective countries, who will forward these to the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in India.
