  • Daily Revision: Revising the complete SET syllabus in the last week is not feasible. Therefore, analyse the previous years’ SET question papers and revise the important topics from which the majority of questions are most likely to be asked. Be thorough with the concepts, theorems and formulae. Revisit the notes that you must have prepared during the last few months of the SET preparation. Jot down the important pointers that you come across during the revision so that the concepts are etched in your mind.
  • Attempting Mock Tests: Practicing mock tests is crucial in any exam preparation. They give you an insight into the question paper and the SET exam pattern. Make sure that you attempt at least one mock test in the last week of preparation while keeping in mind the time duration of the exam. This will help you boost your confidence and also in recognizing the strong and weaker areas. Work on the weaker areas and capitalize on your strengths. Do not stress if you do not score too well in the SET mock test. Attempting mock tests will help you in increasing speed and accuracy as well.
  • Analyse the Previous Years’ Question Papers: Spend at least an hour analyzing the SET previous years’ question papers to understand the marking scheme and to know which the important topics in the SET exam on which the majority of the questions are usually based. This will also help you in understanding the difficulty level of the questions asked in the exam.
  • Do Not Start A Fresh Topic: Do not stress if you were not able to cover some chapter or topic during your preparation. Do not start a fresh topic in the last week of preparation as it will lead you being confused and ill-prepared on the topic. Focus on what you have prepared and capitalize on it.
  • Prepare for the Exam Day: In the last week, make an exam day strategy in advance. Have a good eight-hour sleep, have a healthy breakfast and keep all the documents required at the SET exam centre. No amount of preparation is enough if you are stressed on the exam day.
  • Relax: Be confident and relaxed. Do not stress too much about the performance in the SET exam that you end up marking the wrong answer and loose marks. Indulge in activities that will help you calm and freshen your mind.

Q:   When is the Symbiosis entrance exam for BBA?

A:

The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a national-level entrance test conducted for admission to various undergraduate courses provided by Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Usually, the SET exam is conducted in the first or second week of May every year. The SET exam date varies each year and is released along with the complete SET exam schedule on the official website. The SET exam is usually conducted only once a year. The SET admission cycle generally concludes in a month or two.

In 2024, the SET exam was conducted on two days in the computer-based test mode across 80 cities in the country. The exam was conducted on May 5, 2024, and May 11, 2024.

Q:   Will the SET BBA exam be conducted in double shifts?

A:

No, the SET 2024 exam will be conducted in a single shift. However, in 2020, the SET exam was conducted in the remote-proctored mode in order to follow the social distancing guidelines for COVID-19, and the students had the option to choose the exam slot according to their preference and convenience. SET exam pattern was also changed after 2020. SET exam is usually conducted in single shift for one hour, i. e. from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The exam was however conducted on two days, i. e. May 6 and May 14 in 2023.

Q:   Where will the SET exam be held?

A:

SET exam is held in about 80 test cities across the country. An applicant can select up to three test cities during the SET application process. They should choose the test city carefully as the request to change the test city later may or may not be accepted due to non-availability of seats at the centres in that particular city. Given below are the cities where SET exam is usually held.

Agra,  Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Karnal, Ahmednagar, Kochi, Ernakulam, Ajmer, Aligarh, Kolhapur, Allahabad, Ambala, Amritsar, Amravati, Kota, Kolkata, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Asansol, Aurangabad, Bareilly, Bengaluru, Bhilai, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Bilaspur, Chandigarh, Mohali, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuttak, Dehradun, Madhurai, Ludhiana, Meerut, Mumbai, Mysuru, Nagpur, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Panipat, Panjim, Patiala, Patna, Delhi, Port Blair, Dhanbad, Dibrugarh, Faridabad, Gandhinagar, Gangtok, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hoogly, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Roorkee, Shillong, Shimla, Siliguri, Surat, Thane, Thiruvanathapuram, Thrissur, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur, Jhansi, Jodhpur, Vadodara, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam.
