Q:   How should I prepare for the SET exam?

A:
Cracking an exam is not a cakewalk, and it is not easy to grab a seat in one of the most prestigious private varsities, such as Symbiosis. You need to have a really strong strategy to crack this exam. Be versed with your syllabus Knowing the syllabus for the entrance exam is the first step towards SET preparation. Dividing the time for your exam is only possible if you are thorough with the syllabus. Therefore, you can analyse the area of your strength and then allocate the time required for each section. Understand the exam pattern Going through the previous year question papers and sample papers helps you figure out the exam pattern. Once you become familiar with the type of questions, you will take lesser time to solve questions. There will be clarity in your mind regarding how to crack the SET exam. Time management You have limited time to attempt 4 sections and 60 questions overall. You don't get the time to ponder which section you will attempt or the questions you want to opt-out or attempt last. Therefore knowing the exam pattern adds to your skill of solving the exam faster. Prepare Short Notes Remembering and revising before the exam is crucial for students to perform well. This can be done by preparing short notes. Going through them just a day before the exam will ensure that you remember all that you have prepared, which will boost your confidence in attempting the exam. Practice No exam can be cleared sans practice. Its the most important key for qualifying any exam you want. All the hard work you have put in during months for SET is futile, lest you have practiced sufficiently and are confident about making it to your chosen college and the course.

SET Exam: Last Week Preparation Tips

SET preparation is all about consistency. Here are a few last week preparation tips for SET 2025:

  • Students must dedicate the last week of preparation completely to revision and SET mock tests. Revise the topics you have studied and refer to the short notes you have made in the early stages of preparation.
  • Attempt at least one mock test during the last week of preparation keeping in mind the time limit of the SET question paper. Analyse the areas and questions where you have not scored well and practice them separately.
  • SET is a time-based exam. Hence, it is essential to focus on time management as the students will have to solve the SET question paper within the time limit which is 60 minutes.
  • Do not start a new topic a week before the exam. Starting a new topic will only take up the precious time of the candidates and will also leave you ill-prepared for the new topic.
  • Prepare for the exam day. Candidates must make sure they have prepared well for the SET exam day in the last week. Have a good eight-hour sleep before the exam and have a good breakfast. Gather all the important documents such as the SET admit card which are to be carried to the SET exam centre.
  • Lastly, be calm, relaxed and focused.

Q:   Is SET exam difficult?

A:

SET is a speed-based test which is designed to assess a candidate's analytical aptitude, logical reasoning skills, Quantitative Aptitude and English comprehension. It may sound tough, but these are the skills which we are taught in school so there is nothing new to learn. What is required is to brush on these subjects and topics. All you will need is to brush up on the basics and practice the concepts on advance level problems. Students should solve previous years question papers, attempt an ample number of mock tests and be consistent to score well in the SET exam. Having said that, the preparation for the SET exam requires focus, dedication, discipline and diligence. If you can do that, despite being an average student, you can crack the SET exam. SET is one of the easiest BBA entrance exams and a good preparation strategy can help you crack the SET exam with a good score. Generally, the toughest section of the SET question paper is Quantitative Aptitude. But with daily practice and focusing on understanding the fundamentals, this section of the SET exam can be handled easily.

Q:   How would I know my SET exam centre?

A:

Candidates will know their allotted SET exam centre only from the admit card. There is no way to know the test centre before the release of the SET admit card. The examination authority allots a test centre to aspirants in the city of their first preference as mentioned in the city. So, candidates can atleast be assured that they will get a test centre in the city they had chosen as first preference in the SET application form. However, the venue will be mentioned only on the candidate’s admit card. So as soon as the SET admit card is released, candidates must check the test city and test centre details. In order to avoid any confusion, they must visit the centre at least once before the exam day.

Here are few tips for SET exam: 1. It is important to know as many details about the exam you are going to give as possible. For example, the syllabus, the exam date and paper pattern 2. Next set your daily routine and keep a fixed time for studying for your entrance exam. Pick chapters in the order of their importance. 3. If you have 6 months, you can revise the chapter in the order they are taught in school. If you have less time remaining, and you need to revise the whole course then study the most important chapters first. 4. While studying making notes helps a great deal. When making notes you can either use stick ons or prepare notes in the text itself. It is preferable to make notes or place stick on beside the topic studied. After reading a paragraph make a note of all the points discussed. 5. Remember the formula for solving problem. 6. Before you solve question papers it is preferable to finish and master the problems given in the reference book. You can also practice solving problems from question papers. Therefore, practice as if you are the worst, perform as if you are the best
