Mystory@Ravinder Kaur: How I selected my college and course

1 min readUpdated on Jun 5, 2017 17:51 IST

My interest in Business Studies developed when I was in school. It was after I completed my senior secondary school when I started to realised what path I wanted to choose. Coming from the commerce background, I had a number of options to choose from. I was fond of administration, management, presentations on brand names, marketing strategies of brands, research articles, market survey. Thus, I chose to study something that would add more knowledge to my interest. I enrolled myself to pursue BBA from KL Mehta college. My interest in the subject helped me emerge as a university topper and all-time top rank holder. This was possible only because I realised my interest quite early.

After completing graduation, I wanted to do MBA in Marketing and Finance. Thus, I applied to YMCA University of Science and Technology. The admission process was tough but I got through. I guess the only reasons were my good grades, University achievements, personality and abundant subject knowledge. I belonged to the general category and only two seats remaining. At around 8 pm on 14 August 2014, I was informed about my selection. And now I am a Proud MBA.

Currently, I am self-employed and drafting a future business plan. I believe that one should always go for the field they are interested in. Find out your field of interest and then accordingly choose the field you want your career in. We all are different and we should contribute in the best way we can.
