Satisfied by the college life , faculties are good enough infrastructure and facilities are good.

Placements: Last year, around 20 to 30 percent of students (approximately) were placed from our course. The highest salary offered was around 17 Lacs per annum and average was around 5-6 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies from our department were IBM, Infosys, Wipro, etc.

Faculty members are good and supporting but the placement scenario is not that satisfactory.

Placements: Around 20-30 percent students are placed every year in cement companies, paint companies. Top recruiting companies include PSUs like NRL, OIL, ONGC etc. They pay an average package of around 16-20 Lacs per annum. The highest salaries are given by PSUs while cement companies give the least packages to my knowledge, which may be around 2.5 Lacs per annum. Also the students are encouraged to participate in various workshops organized by the department and also different workshops held in IITG and o...

Overall a nice place to stay for four years.

Placements: Placements were good just that the students had to keep up a good average academically. At least 45-50% students were placed. The highest salaries that were offered were from the PSU's and the lowest were from the IT companies. Average salary was around 5L per annum.

Review of Assam Engineering College.

Placements: Overall placements in our college are okay. Every year, PSUs and MNCs visit the campus for placements. However, the ratio of placed students to students unplaced is low. It's not the fault of T&P cell or teachers. Many MNCs demand having knowledge in coding which some of our students lack.

Absolutely satisfied with the college because of the quality of education provided.

Placements: Placements were average during my tenure. Around 45% of the students were placed. The companies that visited the campus to hire students were mostly from the IT sector. The average salary package offered by these IT companies was around 2.5-3.5 LPA. PSUs like Oil India and Powergrid visited our campus with an average salary package of 12 LPA, but they hired only a few students. The placements in our college were good until 2010. But after that, there has been a very high declination in the place...

Assam Engineering College -An overview.

Placements: Almost 60 % of the students got placed in my batch and the same in the senior batch. The students were offered GET, MT roles. The average salary was roughly 5 LPA. There is a Training and Placement cell (T&P) cell in the college. The T&P cell is very proactive and the team was quite efficient.

A great college with supportive teachers but needs a lot of modification in infrastructure.

Placements: Though the placements have improved considerably, the placement cell needs to give much more effort and time and try bringing the best IT and Core companies during placements. Also the placement call needs to train the students before pre-placement talks so that students find themselves comfortable and confident during placements. The present scenario is such where companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, etc. Are coming for placements offering salaries ranging from 3.2-3.6 LPA but the placement ce...

Absolutely worth the money and there is a good environment to pursue your degree.

Placements: Our college has a good placements record for the branch of mechanical engineering. Core companies visiting the campus are Ashok Leyland, Tata Advanced Systems, Cummins India etc. PSUs have been recruiting quite a good number of students. PSUs including OIL, BPCL, Powergrid, IOCL have been the top recruiters of AEC. Last year, around 40% of the students were placed.

Dissatisfied with the campus because it is an open one. Good placements in 2016 and 2017.

Placements: The placements of Assam Engineering College are good. PSUs like IOCL, BPCL and OIL recruit every year. Other companies like Ashok Leyland Ltd, HUL, APDCL, Tata Motors etc., also recruit a mass number of students. IT sectors like Wipro, Infosys, Zaloni, etc. also recruit from our college every year.

Things aren't that as it seems, but good platform for hardworking people.

Placements: The placement scenario has been recently improving even though there is no much to be hoped for. But, it comes down to individual effort and some luck. Placement cell is apt and helpful. Our junior batch recently got placed in two PSUs, one of them being BPCL.

Dissatisfied with the placement. The faculty is good. Hence, it is a good college for the educator.

Placements: The placements are different for the different branches of engineering in this college. The placement for civil engineering branch is almost nil per year. The placement of mechanical, electronics, and telecom branch are good, but yet less than 50% of the students get placement from these branches. The other branches are electrical and chemical branches has a few placements, but their placement percentage is also very low.

Reputed government. The college has great campus life, less fee (did my BE, in less than Rs.50,000).

Placements: AEC had a history of good placements. PSUs like Oil, IOCL, power grid, HPCL, BPCL, etc. are regular on the campus. There is also an IT recruitment. TCS, Wipro, Accenture are some of IT recruiters. Every year, students get selected into M.Tech courses in IITs and go abroad for the higher studies.

The college is an old and prestigious, where the faculty members are good.

Placements: The placement is not up to the mark. Some of them get placed but not all. Every year, the placement scenario is different. If we try hard, you can manage to get a job in the placement. Not many but a few company come and offer the jobs. TCS and such company most of the time visit for the mass recruitment. Overall, it is average, and I will rate 5 out of 10.

Awesome college life, good faculty, decent placements in 2017 and breathtaking campus surroundings.

Placements: The placements are decent in mechanical, electrical, electronics and CSE branches. Mechanical being the best, more than 70% of them were placed in the last year. If you want a PSU with little effort, AEC is the place for you. Also, being in a reserved category, you are just a step behind from getting placed in a PSU from here, the only thing you need to maintain is no backlogs. OIL, IOCL, BPCL, NRL, BCPL, power grid are some of the PSUs. IT companies including Wipro, Accenture, SAP labs, Direct,...

The college has the average infrastructure, qualified faculty, and good placements.

Placements: The placement in AEC is good. The average salary is 6 LPA. This time the highest salary is 18 LPA, and the lowest is 3.2 LPA. IT, PSUs, and some core companies visit the AEC to hire the students. There is a training and placement cell in our college to handle the placement scenario.

Assam Engineering College - the dooming heritage.

Placements: In the academic year 2013-2013, the placements were near to 100%, but gradually with the paradigm shift of technology to more computer-oriented stuff, this field began to lose its grasp in the placements. Due to the introduction of GATE for PSU companies, the placements saw a large reduction. By 2016-17 it has reduced to almost nil. So, regarding placement, in civil domain, one should avoid this college though it's a government college.
