- Read moreCandidates who has passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination is eligible to apply provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Education /Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. Candidate must have aggregate 50%, Political Science: 45% OR Aggregate: 50% (without Political Science) However, Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST or OBC Community must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate.

It is the best college in all aspects.
Placements: More than 95% of students got placed in this course. The salary packages are decent. Top recruiting companies are IPAC, TCS, Wipro, and Asterix Innovation. Students also get high-value internships at this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Our campus is huge. Classrooms are well-maintained. There is a common room for indoor games. Canteen is huge, and the food quality is better. Sports such as football, cricket, etc., are conducted. Our college has its sports team.
Faculty: Teachers are well-trained, efficient, and helpful. The course curriculum is relevant to make students ready for the industry. Semester exams are conducted as per Calcutta University norms.
Other: Freshers are conducted in this college. One of the best fests is Udaan. Sports events such as annual sports, APL, ASL, ABL, etc., are conducted. Departmental excursions are organised in this college.

Placements: It is a top college for arts, and it is the best college in Kolkata. For admission in this college, students need to score top in a high secondary. I recommend this college for the arts' students. It is the best college also for science. If you score 80% to 90% of marks in the high secondary, you can choose this college.
Infrastructure: It is one of the top colleges in Kolkata. You need to score 80% or above in political science to get admitted to this college. I always recommend you to take admission in this college.
Faculty: Our college admitted students at a very low cost. Campus life is very good, and the seniors are very helpful. If you need help with any problem, you can call your department senior at any time. Our college's teachers are very good, and they help in your study at any time. Our college political science department's faculty members are very good, and their website is very strong.

The placement record is bad. This college is not recommendable.
Placements: The placement record of the college is very poor. The students have to get placements on their own as the college does not provide placement drives for the students. As it is a government college, not many companies are interested in selecting the students. No internships are offered to the students. Even, the package provided to the placed students is not good. The average salary offered to the students was Rs. 8,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not provided in the college. The library and classrooms are good enough. The environment is peaceful. But, as it is a government college, political effects are seen in the college premises, but they are not as much as the people utter about. The hostel rooms are convenient enough, but most of the students prefer staying in the nearby PGs as there are many PGs available near the campus.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified and most of them are PhD scholars in their field of knowledge. They are helpful to the students in guiding their career paths. The student to faculty ratio is 30:1. Practical classes are also provided regularly. The teachers employ the latest technologies to make their teaching easier. The curriculum followed by the college is designed by University of Calcutta.

Ashutosh college is one of best college in Kolkata. A dream college for every student.
Placements: 10-15% of students were placed in my course. Students usually prepare for government jobs.
Infrastructure: We have two libraries in our college. Wi-Fi in the whole campus. We have labs but there is no use of labs in my course. The quality of food in canteen is very good. We also play sports and games like cricket, football, tennis, badminton. PC and mobile games competitions are there in our college.
Faculty: All teachers in my college are very helpful. Teaching quality of my college is very good. All teachers are highly educated. They know how to behave with students as well. They are very good at teaching and friendly. They take extra classes to teach the topic which we can't understand.
Other: Political Science is my one of my favourite subjects. That's why I take this course. A number of extracurricular activities are held in my colage.
