City College - The heart of Amherst Street
Placements: There are a total of 28 students in the batch of zoology Honors. There is no package of course. Basically some companies visits once for recruitment but that too just for the position such as sales agent. Internship is available but that is a part of the curriculum and no stipend is provided for that.
Infrastructure: The college has a huge library and on top of that each department has their own departmental library. Labs are not well maintained or established and no wifi facility is available, classrooms are ok. The canteen provides food at reasonable prices, medical facilities are not available.
Faculty: The teacher are really very supportive and helpful regarding studies. They provides quality notes and explains a topic quite well. The curriculum is very relevant as it will help in future to get jobs in many sectors such as forest service, zoo services, marine biologist, forensic sciences and aquaculture. The exams are difficult to pass .The passing percentage is 34.
Other: This course provides opportunities in diverse fields such as forest service, zoo services, marine biologist and forensic science. The college lacks cleanliness and hygiene along with that lift is absent which becomes a problem for climbing 4th floor. A lot of events and co curricular activities such as debate, quiz and inter college tournament are hosted every year and every year Sangrila is hosted for 5 days in the month of October.

    It is an average college.
Placements: About 20% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 7.2 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Companies won't visit our college. Internships depend on students. There are many freelancing sites where anyone can do internships. There are many seminars arranged by our college where students can participate and gain experience.
Infrastructure: We have 9 physics laboratories, including a general and computer laboratory. There are essential apparatuses for performing experiments. Our college provides average facilities and infrastructure. There is no hostel in our college. Students can stay at the Calcutta University hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are very good and very knowledgeable. They are very helpful to students. They are very polite and friendly. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. There is career counseling in our college. Semester exams are average. The pass percentage is about 80%.
Other: I opted for this course because I want to go into the research field. The career counseling process should be better. Many events and fests are organised by the student union and college authorities every year.

The college is average and I suggest you can take admission in this College.
Placements: Usually, in a bachelor's degree, there is no. placement other than a master's degree. So there you will not get any placement. But the college environment is good you can get apply for off-campus job placement. As there is no on-campus placement.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have its own hostel but you will find nearby hotels with no wifi. Poor lab facility. This is a average type college. Having library facilities and laboratory facilities the college canteen is available with no projector in class but teachers are very cooperative.
Faculty: The teachers of the college are very helpful and they are always ready to help the students and their nature are very kind and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. The pass percentage of the semester exam is 33% and there are no difficulties in the exam.
Other: The college is awesome and I suggest everyone take admitted to this College.

It provides good faculty members and placements so, students should take admission in it.
Placements: Around 75% of students were placed in this course. ONGC, OICL, and many chemical companies visit our campus for recruitment. Almost 85% of students got internships in Bharat Petroleum, HP, IOCL, etc. Our teachers give study for jam, IIT, so students could easily crack it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was not big. Our laboratory mainly the chemistry laboratory was good, it was divided into 3 parts so, students had no suffering. Wi-Fi was always available and it was not a problem. But the mess and food system was not good. So, students should live in home or PG.
Faculty: Our chemistry department teachers were good. They were very good and they starts studying from a basic level so students get no problem in that case. The semester system was hard, because students could not get proper time for study.
Other: In this college, students got scholarships for study, and this college is very good.

It is very good college because of our faculty, good placements, and also good lab set.
Placements: As I was a Chemistry student, there was a minimum of 75% of students in Chemistry took place in our course. All courses have the same salary package under Rs.15000 per month. If you get 85% and above, then some of the companies like IOCL can take you. At least 85%, you need to get an internship in our course.
Infrastructure: Hostels are not so good in our college. The classrooms and library are good. Mess is not good. Every year, there was an annual sports program in which anyone can participate. Our college also has a free Wi-Fi system so no problem in that case. We also have a medical facility, so no need to worry about it.
Faculty: In our department, all teachers are very helpful and friendly. All teachers guide you in a proper way so you get no problems further. The pass percentage is 30%. The semester system is good but some short of time. After B.Sc., our Chemistry department teachers thoroughly tried to help you to find a job.
Other: I chose Chemistry because after passing B.Sc. in Chemistry, there were many opportunities like JAM, GATE, M.Sc., and many companies also hire you.

"Department of Chemistry City College ; A life to remember" .
Placements: B.Sc. Chemistry with Honours is a general course and not a professional course. Hence, there will be no placement for this course. There is no the lowest and average package. Company hires a chemist after master degree of GATE qualification. Hence, no role is offered by this course.
Infrastructure: City college is one of the oldest colleges in Kolkata. It is founded in the year 1878. Laboratories and classrooms are old fashioned but they are perfectly maintained. College have Wi-Fi connection. Library is very good. Hostel, Canteen are Satisfactory.
Faculty: Teachers in Department of Chemistry city college is the most precious asset. They all are NET qualified and Researchers. Teachers are hired by College Service Commission of West Bengal Government. This course curriculum is not just relevant, this is one of the best and the toughest curriculum offer by University of Calcutta. As this is a general course, this not makes any student industry ready. Difficulty level of Calcutta University is well known. Exams which are conducted by Calcutta University was always nightmare, there is no exception of this fact. Passing percentage is 30 but only 1/3rd students can pass this course (Before lockdown).
Other: I choose this course as I always wanted to be a researcher. The best thing about this course is the beauty of the subject. Chemistry is one of the most beautiful subjects in the world. Events, Fest, Campus Crowd, Connectivity everything is excellent. The campus is held on Raja Rammohan Ray Sarani in Kolkata which is one of the busiest streets in the city. Scholarships and extracurricular activities are subjected to government of west Bengal and University of Calcutta respectively.
