Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.E. / B.Tech at Coimbatore Institute Of Engineering And Technology - CIET Coimbatore?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Course Curriculum at Coimbatore Institute Of Engineering And Technology (CIET) Coimbatore

    * Centralized and Set by Anna University: The course curriculum is centrally designed and regulated by Anna University, making it consistent across institutions affiliated with it.
    * Outdated by Students and Faculty Alike: Unfortunately, the curriculum is widely regarded as outdated by both students and faculty members.
    * Focus on Practical Learning: The college uses modern techniques and technologies to deliver knowledge to students, emphasizing practical learning.
    * Semester Exams: Semester exams are held every six months, allowing students to progress steadily throughout their academic journey.
    * Relevant to Industry: The course curriculum is designed to prepare students for the industry, with a focus on practical applications.

Note: Since the majority of the statements mentioned the centralization of the curriculum and its perceived outdatedness, these points take precedence in summarizing the course structure at CIET Coimbatore.

My college life and a small piece of information about my campus life.
Placements: In my college, 50% of students are placed and 50% of students are going for internships. The highest package is 7.5L per annum, the lowest is 1.5L per annum, and the average is 4L per annum. Top recruitment companies are Wipro, and Infosys. Basically, CSE and IT students, and ECE and EEE students, all got software-related companies, but ECE and EEE also have core companies.
Infrastructure: Yes, my college has a good infrastructure, the best labs for each department, and a common library for all courses. The library has comic books and general knowledge books. In my hostel, the food is of good quality and taste. My college has a canteen too, with lots of food options. Medical facilities are available in both the college and hostel. Sports and games are all available in my college.
Faculty: Yes, our faculty members are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching is very good and easy to understand. A little bit of students are ready, and our faculty members are well-trained and they train all students. The semester exam questions are tough, but it's easy to pass; above 45% is the pass percentage.
Other: In my course, we earn more money than others and get IT jobs. I am choosing this course because I am a counseling student. In my college, they improve the festival celebrations. Yes, yearly, they conduct the annual fest and celebrate Pongal and Onam. There are three colleges here, so it's literally a crowded when a function is celebrated grandly. All are available in my college.

Good infrastructure, need more facilities, more improvement in knowledge.
Placements: 50 percentage of students placed in my college. 4.8 lakh per annum is the highest package, lower is 1.5 lakh per annum, and average is 3 lakh per annum. In our campus, there are more companies recruiting, such as Smart TV, Wipro, Microsoft. 70 percentage of students got internships in above companies in electronics hardware.
Infrastructure: Specialized labs with AC, free Wi-Fi, separate library for each department, advance electronic devices and kits. Facilities in hostel are playground, gym, and indoor games room. Food is good when compared to other hostels. Medical facilities are available 24 hours with college's own ambulance. All kinds of sports are there with separate grounds.
Faculty: Teachers are good, helpful, and so kind to clear out doubts. They are well knowledgeable. Teaching is also good. Yes, it is better curriculum relevant. It makes students industry-ready always. The pass percentage is 7.5 CGPA. The semester exams are so tough to clear because it's from outer college, but by luck, some questions may be easier.
Other: Because I am interested in circuits. The best is there are opportunities in both core and IT sector. Advanced syllabus is required.

Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: The highest package of our college department is about 5 LPA, and the lowest package is around 3 LPA. The average package is around 4 LPA. The top roles offered were Web Development Intern, Software Developer, and Data Analyst. There are top companies that recruit.
Infrastructure: The labs are okay, but not all computers are working. The Wi-Fi connection was too low for us to use. The classroom has been altered only in E Block, but the remaining block classrooms are not as good as expected. The library has many books, and one month of time is given as the due date.
Faculty: The teachers are well trained to not get caught by the principal. They teach only what's needed, but there are some teachers who teach us well and provide general knowledge other than what's inside the book. The curriculum is not hard, but it's easy if you have attended all the classes.

Review of Coimbatore Institute Of Engineering And Technology.
Placements: More than 60 percent of engineering students have gotten placed in most top recruiting companies. The highest package is around 5 LPA, the lowest package is about 3 LPA, and the average package is around 4.5 LPA. Many students were placed as interns at other companies.
Infrastructure: The food is overall good, delicious, and healthy too. The labs are ventilated, and only a few computers work there, and Wi-Fi is very slow in and around the campus. Classrooms are wide and old-school. They don't give importance to sports other than sports day.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and all have good years of experience in the teaching field. The curriculum is easy to understand, and what is needed is thought to us. The exams are easy. But malpractices are strictly not allowed. Extra special classes are taken for slow learners.
