    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

    Effectiveness of Placement Cell

    * Overall effectiveness: The placement cell at the College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE) is considered "very effective" by several students and alumni. One student mentioned that almost 90% of the students get placed, while another stated that the cell's efforts resulted in the highest salary package being offered by Vedanta (Rs. 8 lakhs).

    * Vedanta placements: Specifically, several students praised the placement cell for facilitating successful placements with Vedanta, with one student mentioning that six students from the Civil Branch secured jobs with the company. Another student highlighted that Vedanta's recruitment process involved a written exam and personal interviews, making it a challenging yet rewarding experience.

B.Tech. in Mining Engineering - Batch of 2027

This college provides excellent placements in mining industry.
Placements: Placements of mining engineering are almost 100% each year. The highest salary package offered is 16 LPA, given by Vedanta Group. Out of 25 students, 12-15 students are placed in this package. The average salary package offered is 12 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 4.2 LPA by cement companies.
Infrastructure: There is a library with a Wi-Fi facility and a large number of books. Wi-Fi is available in hostels but not in departments. Different labs are provided as required for the subject. Mess is average, canteen is okay, and there are facilities for different sports, both indoor and outdoor.
Faculty: All teachers are qualified and have great experience in teaching as well as industry knowledge. Syllabus is relevant to make students industry-ready, there are training sessions and seminars at our college and in different companies. Exam pattern is good, and passing is not a tough task.
Other: I chose mining engineering because it is one of the best colleges to study mining engineering. Placements are excellent, and the location of the college is very nice. Udaipur is a great city to be in. I love the fest and events organised, but they don't. Campus crowd is good, but the girls-to-boys ratio is poor, especially in mining engineering. Connectivity of the college is very good. College also provides many scholarships. There are not many extracurricular activities.

CTAE Udaipur - The good college for the people who don't get IITs.
Placements: Our senior batch got almost 100 percent placement. Our college is best for the Mining Engineering branch, and it is the top branch of our college. Top recruiting companies like Vedanta, Tata, and cement companies like Udaipur Cement, Wonder Cement, etc., also visit.
Infrastructure: Talking about facilities, our college has a good facility of a well-equipped library with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, proper sitting facility, and full availability of newer books. Classrooms are average. Hostel food is fair, and the condition of hostel rooms is fair for the 1st and 2nd years; after the 2nd year, from the 3rd year, you get good rooms.
Faculty: Teachers are all well-qualified and fully knowledgeable. They are highly qualified from good institutions like IITs. The teaching quality is excellent. Talking about the Mining Engineering course, the course is very relevant from the point of view of industry requirements. The difficulty of semester exams is moderate. The pass percentage in exams is 40 percent.

Decent Placements and Good campus life.
Placements: This college has excellent placements in the mining branch (15 LPA, approximately). Other branches with decent placements are CSE, EE, and ME. The average package varies from 4.5 to 4.75 LPA. Vedanta, Hindustan Zinc, and Securemeter are major recruiters. In CSE, 40 students, in EE, 40 to 45 students, and in ME, 15 students got placed. ME has only 24 students, out of which 15 got placed with packages ranging from 6 to 7 LPA. The mining branch has 25 students, out of whom 16 got placed.
Infrastructure: The PG hostel and NSCB hostel are decent, but An Khosla and MV hostel have poor infrastructure. They both have unclean washrooms with bad odors, and the rooms are also old, requiring adjustment. The PG and NSCB hostels have good rooms. There is one canteen and good sports facilities available. We have 2 cricket grounds, 1 football ground, 3 basketball grounds, 1 volleyball ground, and 1 tennis ground. Additionally, we have 3 indoor badminton courts and a table tennis court.
Faculty: The faculty members are poor, mostly consisting of guest faculty. Students often have to rely on self-study and notes for exam preparation. However, there are some good teachers like Dave sir and Kalpana mam. Exams usually occur 4 times a year, with 2 mid-semester exams and 2 semester exams. Grading is stringent, and achieving an 8 CGPA is exceptional, while an above 7 CGPA is considered good in this college.
Other: Clubs are not very active here, and festivals take place only during selection times. Students can enjoy parties for free during selection times. Considering it is a government college, campus life may not be very lively. However, in terms of return on investment (ROI), it is a good college. The total fees are approximately 4.5 LPA (if you are in a hostel) for GEN candidates. One can easily secure a package of 5 LPA or above from this college, providing a good ROI.

In this college you will get a very good campus life and placements are average.
Placements: Placements are average, but not bad for some branches. For example, mining has the best placement of the college, and electrical also has good placement. Other circuital branches have average placement, and about 50% of students are placed.
Infrastructure: The College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE), Udaipur, boasts modern infrastructure with well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, and a vast library. It offers excellent sports facilities, research centers, and auditoriums. The hostels provide comfortable, secure accommodation with Wi-Fi, common areas, and mess services, fostering a community environment for students' holistic growth.
Faculty: The faculty at CTAE Udaipur is highly qualified, with many holding PhDs and industry experience. They provide a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical insights, fostering a supportive learning environment. The exam system includes internal assessments and final exams each semester, testing both theoretical understanding and practical application to ensure well-rounded student development.

Yes, absolutely dissatisfied with faculty members of the college, but placements are quite good.
Placements: Almost 50-60% of students got placed last year in the civil engineering department and the highest package was around 1 crore per annum and the lowest package was 30 thousand per month, which was the average package offered by the company to the students of civil department. The top recruiting company was the Larsen and Toubro company. Almost 70% of students got internships in the companies in the civil and top roles were site engineers, project managers, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities in the college are good. In all the departments there is full facility of classrooms and labs. The department has separate classrooms for different activities, and the lab has all the machines and equipment, and lab assistants are also provided in every lab of the department. The college has a library, which provides Wi-Fi and study materials. The college has a canteen for refreshment. The college has hostel facilities and clean rooms, but the food of the mess was not pretty good, but the hostel provides the medical facilities, and sports and games are also conducted by the college.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, and the teaching of teachers was mainly for the competitive exams, but the nature of the teacher was some kind of rude. They are qualified with an M.Tech or PhD and are knowledgeable about every subject of the particular department. The course of civil engineering makes the students industry-ready if they are hardworking. The semester was a bit difficult in the college, and the pass percentage is near 50%.

The college is overall above average; placement rate is good, but the hostel is generally not good.
Placements: In my course, 7 CGPA of students are placed. The highest package in my course is 2.5 lakhs per annum through campus placement, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs per annum. The top recruiting company is Vedanta. Roles offered in my course include developing machines, making cars, etc.
Infrastructure: Faculty are very good in nature and highly talented, so all doubts are discussed with teachers. Classrooms are average, and a digital board is also available. The hostel is generally not good, with issues of water and cleanliness. Canteen and medical facilities are available on campus, and sports and games are also organized in college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful in nature and are qualified from India’s top colleges. The quality of teaching is good, and teachers are highly talented, so all types of doubts are resolved. The college exams in a semester include one mid-term exam and one final exam, with a passing mark of 33.
Other: Basically, the course is good and gives practical knowledge. The best thing about the course is that practical knowledge is absorbed quickly.

To secure a seat in the Mining Engineering branch at MBM Engineering College or CTAE Udaipur with a rank of 214000 in JEE Main is highly unlikely. With the rank of 214000 in JEE Mains, securing a seat in a government college for any engineering branch, including Mining Engineering, is challenging.
