Govt. College of Engineering Amravati or 'GCOEA' as we call it, is one of the premier autonomous govt. institutes in the state of Maharashtra. It is ranked 39 in the latest survey by outlook. The campus is spread over 105 acres although the buildings are pretty much cranked up close to each other and most of the parts of campus are just in wilderness. The infrastructure is quite good and if you look at it from outside, you will actually be impressed. The inside facilities on the other hand that ...

Placements are very low. Teachers show attitude. They don't teach properly.

Placements: The highest package is 15 LPA. Campus placements are very low. The highest placement they tell you about is not campus-based. From campus placement, the lowest package is 2 LPA. The training and placement cell is not that well updated. Campus placement is like 20 students out of 400 students.

College is good for placements but campus life is boring.

Placements: I am currently studying my 2nd year in the IT branch and my previous batch had good placement; about 60 out of 75 students were placed in campus interviews; the lowest package was 4 LPA and was about 5 to 6 Lacs; and the highest was 14 LPA but due to the recession, the current placement percentage has decreased.

Review of my college is short

Placements: Placements : So the placements this year from mechanical department were 12/45 and companies like Adani, TCS, cognizant were the major companies placing students. Also the highest package went to 4 lacs per annum and minimum was 3.6 lacs per annum. Other departments recorded a good no of placements with the maximum in Computer Science and Information Technology departments.

The college staff is good, which is the reason I joined in this college.

Placements: Almost 20% of students got placed in our course. Few students got selected in companies with computer and IT background. There were no core companies. The highest package offered was 5 LPA and the lowest package offered was 2.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Reliance, TCS, Wipro, Bosch and Bajaj. Top roles offered were junior engineer or assistant. The highest package offered in our course was 4 LPA, and the lowest package offered in our course was 2.8 LPA.

It is one of the old colleges of Maharashtra.

Placements: Placements are mostly held by mass recruiters. Almost 90-95% of the students from CS/IT department got a job. The salary package offered is 3.5-4 LPA. Several big companies visited our campus, but they usually hire 4-5 students and offer them a salary package of around 7-8 LPA. The highest salary package offered this year was 11 LPA. The average salary package offered was 3.5 LPA.
