One of the best government engineering colleges.
Placements: 90 percent of the students have been placed in government college of engineering, Salem in 2022. The top most MNCs like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra and well growing startup. 100% of the student got internship from my course and company like zoho and salesforce etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. A few days ago, a lab was build called VR labs which would cost around 2 crores. One the best infrastructures is provided in this college among the 11 government colleges in Tamil Nadu. Old hostels are not good but a new hostel building is under construction.
Faculty: The teachers are good in this government college of engineering Salem. The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is also good. The curriculum is relevant to course of study and exploring other departments too.

Take a look and get to know about GCE Salem.
Placements: The placement is now average. About 50% of the students only got placed in my course at my college. The highest salary package offered in my course is 5 LPA and the lowest salary package is 1.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, and Infosys. 20% of the students got internships from my course at companies like Infinion and Teach Red Ltd.
Infrastructure: There are good facilities on the college campus. A wi-fi facility is available inside the campus. The libraries are filled with a huge amount of useful and the latest books and materials. The hostel food and accommodation are average but hygienic. Sports and games are organized now and then.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful in our studies. There are some well-experienced teachers. The curriculum is 50% relevant to our career development skills. However, the curriculum is not suitable for making the students industry-ready. The semester exams can be easily passed.
Other: I chose this course because of its affordability.

It is one of the best colleges. It has value for money.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Salem.
Placements: The placement in this year is very poor everywhere. Even the placement drive has only a limited number of companies. Most of the companies are startups and they offer a very low salary package. The top recruiting companies this year are Infosys and Cognizant. The highest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Last year, the placement drive was really good and we are hoping to get a better placement drive next year.
Infrastructure: The college is well-maintained, and the infrastructure is really good. There are a decent number of books in the library and the college has wi-fi facilities in every department. Hostel food is not that good, but the accommodations are really good in our college hostel. The college has excellent sports facilities and equipment. Many sports events are conducted every year.
Faculty: The teachers are good and well-experienced in their domain. The teaching quality is good, but the curriculum is partially relevant to our job. If the university had taken more steps to improve the curriculum, it would be better. The semester exams are conducted every 4 months, twice a year and the pass percentage is 50%.
