Overall, it's a good college, but education here is not up to the mark like in Nirma, DDIT, etc.
Placements: I'm currently in 1st-year of B.E (computer engineering department). The highest salary packages are offered to the students of the computer engineering branch. Almost 40-60% of the students get placed through on-campus or off-campus placement drives. There are very fewer chances to get an internship here. Our seniors who got placed were offered a maximum salary package of 6-7 LPA. The placement cell of the college is not very active. However, professors would help you if you have good contacts with them. The average salary package offered is 2.50 LPA. Most of the companies visiting GEC Modasa are local state-level companies. To get a job in an MNC, you have to really work hard on your own because the college will not provide any assistance.
Infrastructure: Government Engineering College, Modasa is spread over a large area when compared to all other government colleges in Gujarat. The campus is lush green, and it allows you to concentrate and focus on studies easily. There is no noise or any pollution on the campus. The entire campus is enabled with NaMo Wi-Fi which is absolutely free for students of the college. There are huge sports opportunities available in the college. There is a vast playground on the campus for outdoor games, and there is a dedicated place for indoor sports. A special volleyball court and cricket practice grounds are available here. Some faculty members will also help you with your sports skills and will provide you with the required knowledge. You will get many chances to play for state-level and national-level sports events here. Some students from our college have won in Khel Mahakumbh and other state-level sports competitions. But the main advantage of this college is its reasonable fee of Rs. 1,500 per year.
Faculty: Teachers in GEC, Modasa are well-qualified. They are hired based on GPSC exams, and they all are good at their subjects. But you'll not get faculty members like the ones in IITs, NITs or any other top-level colleges. I think most of the faculty members here are not that knowledgeable to teach undergraduates and are also not active in any type of research. But they are better when compared to the teachers in private engineering colleges. Teachers only teach through textbooks, and they do not use any type of innovative methods for teaching. The faculty to student ratio is around 1:40. There is less scope of getting an internship here, so you will not be able to get enough industrial exposure. But in vacations, if you work hard to get an internship, then you can easily get one. The important thing is you have to learn by yourself and always keep yourself updated if you want to stand out from the crowd. The course curriculum followed in the college is outdated and is not very much useful. It is just helpful for your exams. If you want to get knowledge to build your profile, you have to work for yourself.
Other: All the events are celebrated in the college like Navratri Fest, Independence day celebrations, fresher's party, and even an annual fest is celebrated every year. You will not see that much crowd on campus on regular days because the campus is very big, and most of the students bunk classes if they have 75% attendance. Crowd can be seen around the campus on submission days and exam days. Overall, campus surroundings are good for studies, and you should get the advantage of it for your improvement. If you have more than 80 percentile in 12th board exams, you'll get MYSY scholarship which is around Rs. 12,000-17,000 per year. You'll also get other scholarships if you are from reserved castes (OBC, ST, SC). But if you belong to general category, then you'll not get other scholarships. If you are good at extracurricular activities like music, dancing, singing or acting, you'll get enough exposure to explore them and show your talent to the people around you.

GEC Modasa- very good infrastructure and bad for internship.
Placements: Placement in our college is moderate. 20+ companies visit our college. On an average, 40% students are placed. In this, the highest salary package is 4.2 lacs/annum. And the lowest is 2.2 lacs/annum. Many roles take like a developer in Java, PHP, .net, Android, iOS and Python were offered. Also, management roles were offered. Internship in our college is very less, approx 20%. The stipend is as per the company. The highest stipend is Rs. 8000/month and the lowest is Rs. 3000/month.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is superb and facilities like lab, Wi-Fi, classrooms, games, etc. are there. The college campus is too large and has a beautiful environment. In the lab, AC and internet are provided. The canteen in our college is very bad. No food is available, so the students have to manage that on their own. The boys hostel is very bad but new girls hostel is being made. I hope it is good.
Faculty: The faculty is very good behaviour and is knowledgeable. So the students are satisfied with the study. The teachers explain and do practicals and use projector to explain deeply. So it is the best for the students. In the college, 10 courses are provided.

GEC Modasa. Don't take admission unless you don't have money.
Placements: Very few selected students get placements. The top 10 students in every branch got jobs, but the package was also very low. Big companies are not coming to GEC Modasa. Only local companies which are nearby come for placements. If you planning to get admission for placements, please stay away from here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good but no Wi-Fi was available. A gym and a canteen are not available. Hostel rooms are very bad. A library is also available but with limited books. Medical facilities are not available but a sports ground is available. The quality of labs are good but teachers are not interested to teach.
Faculty: GEC Modasa is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University so the curriculum is structured by GTU. It is not good as it should be. Faculty members are well-educated but they are not interested in teaching. They also create a mental pressure on students for viva sessions and submissions.

A good government college with average faculty and facilities, but will have to struggle for job!
Placements: Placements of our batch and previous batches did not take place by the college because our college didn't hold campus drives. About 30-40% students from the last years batch got a job. About 99% (true figure) students of our batch haven't received a job or call letter despite being in the final semester. The ones who received jobs roughly have Rs. 15,000 salary on average. The students joined as product developers and tutors mainly. About internships, there were no internships either. Students in most of the cases had to join internships by themselves and most of them were such in which the students had to pay to join internship.
Infrastructure: The college has a large campus and cleanliness and silence is the main feature. The college has Wi-Fi access and high-speed internet connected labs. Each classroom has 30 benches and good lighting and ventilation, same goes with the labs. Sadly, the college has a non-functioning library. Various events take place in even semesters of the academic calendar. They include games, social events and themed days. Canteen food is relatively good though sitting facility in it is very poor. Hostel rooms are really good and provide really good facilities at a really low cost of Rs. 2000 a year, because it is a government hostel. The hostel also has Wi-Fi connectivity. Overall, the college has a good infrastructure. We faced a few problems like fans not working once or twice, but there is not much to complain about.
Faculty: Faculty of the college has been helpful in many queries and problems, but there have been many times where faculty members denied to help. Few of the faculty members are less experienced. In terms of knowledge, the faculty members had a fair knowledge in many fields. Some of the professors are brilliant, not just at their knowledge but also at teaching. Although the students have had very low time with practical knowledge, because of poor lab assistance. Student to faculty ratio varies per department. Our department has about 20 faculty members and 120 students on average.

Partially satisfied with the growth in placements in last two years but infrastructure is amazing.
Placements: There is nothing like placements or internships. Not a single reputed company came to our college for placement and percentage of the students that were placed by the college campus is 1%. Students have to get the internship by their own and the highest salary paid to the student is 2-3 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our college is fully Wi-Fi enabled which is having 100 mbps speed of the internet. Every department has their own fully equipped labs. Classrooms are also with all the functionalities and huge sitting space. We also have a library with all the books that are needed by students and all the types of medical facilities are provided by the college. We don't have good space for sports but the college sports team is very good in every area of field. It has a fine hostel for the student with a hygienic mess.
Faculty: I have a very good experience with the faculty members as they are very good by hearts. They are very helpful and all of them have done Masters in their field and a few of them are also doing their doctorate. Their teaching method includes PPTs and videos. They also conduct tests after the classes.
