I am dissatisfied with the college atmosphere.
Placements: Placements here are very low for civil engineering students, and they are mostly placed in IT companies. Around 10-20 students from a batch of 60 students got placed. The highest salary package offered was 4.5 LPA. The top role offered by a civil engineering based company was a site supervisor.
Infrastructure: Labs are average with all the facilities, but they are not big. The department library is good. Buildings are old and small. There is no sufficient space for placing the materials inside the labs, and the materials are affected by rain, dogs, etc. The equipment in labs is also not that good.
Faculty: Teachers here are helpful and qualified. The course curriculum is not relevant, and it doesn't make students industry-ready. Teachers are qualified, but the syllabus doesn't deal with the problems that the industry is facing. Application of the theorems is less.
Other: I have chosen civil engineering as all the sections of society can be helped by civil engineers. We should be exposed to more real-life problems rather than simple theorems and problems.

Review of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill.
Placements: Civil engineering has a lot of scope in the government sector. We can start startups and work as freelancers. It is an excellent course that I can refer to as more than a job. We can explore many places.
Infrastructure: The canteen is good. The quality of the food is excellent. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Our college provides all facilities. Projectors are available in classrooms. There are a minimum of 60 students in one class. Labs are available.
Faculty: Exams are easy for those who study. Almost all students pass. Some students have difficulties. It depends on your preparation. Our teachers are very kind.
Other: Our college organises many fests. All government scholarships are available.

College facilities and management.
Placements: Students can enroll themselves for placements starting from the 4th year. Companies that come for placements are mainly in the IT field. Placements for civil and mechanical are less than other departments. The percentage of students getting placed is less than 50%.
Infrastructure: The whole college does not have a ground for students. Construction work in undergoing, leading to a lot of dust around the area. There is no boys' hostel. Classrooms are spacious and have good facilities. Better canteen facility can be provided.
Faculty: We have effecient teachers and well-qualified faculty. Labs are clean and all safety measures are taken while conducting experiments. Pass percentage for semester exams is around 67%-75%. Bad quality in evaluating semester exams and evaluation is not done properly.
Other: The college crowd is so good. There are so many events happening. Societies are very active.

Really good faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: More than 30%of students are being placed in our college even though civil engineering is government job oriented course. The top recruitment companies are byjus, L&T. More than 70% students got internship.
Infrastructure: Even though our college is having 6 acres of land. This lack of space did not affect anything. Our college has a stage for conducting arts, well-equipped labs for experiments. The classroom is also well-equipped with a projector and a television. There are 2 canteens in the college. The 2 ladies hostels are having 1 mess hall. The sports and games are also encouraged together with academics.
Faculty: The teachers are truly helpful for us. They are ready to clear our doubts at any time. Definitely this course curriculum is relevant. Since the course contains workshops and MOOC courses in between it truly makes the students industrially ready. While talking about the quality of teachers, every teacher is a Ph.D. owner. Each and every faculty tries to improve our knowledge. Most of the government colleges do not finish their topics I suppose, but trust me our teachers are so good in that.
Other: I chose this course since I love to explore buildings. And moreover I opt government jobs. Since I haven't started studying the core subject. I can't say more about the syllabus. I hope I should answer it when I reach 3rd year or so.
