Hans Raj College admission to all the programmes is entrance-based. While the college accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, such as BA, BA (Hons), BSc, BSc (Hons) and BCom, BCom (Hons), admission to all the postgraduate programmes is based on the scores obtained by students in the CUET-PG exam (starting admission 2023). The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG from 2022 onward and the CUET PG from the 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to UG was subject to merit scores obtained by the students in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU. However, the university still accepts ECA quota admissions.

Starting 2022, Hans Raj College has stopped releasing the cutoff for BCom (Hons) and other undergraduate courses publicly. Earlier, the institute, along with the University of Delhi used to release the cutoff scores for different category students across seven to eight cutoff lists. These lists were based on the Class 12 scores obtained by the students. With the introduction of CUET UG, the process for the release of cutoff has seen changes. Now, students who have applied to Hans Raj College in their DU CSAS registration form (after qualifying CUET UG) receive an admission call, provided they meet the set score standards of the institute. The total fee for the Hansraj College BA course is around INR 24,000 for general students. The fee is inclusive of tuition fees, admission fees, University development fee, College Development Fund, and many more.
