Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Programs at IIIT Raichur

Unfortunately, the placement cell at IIIT Raichur has been ineffective according to student reviews:

    * "The placement cell is not working properly." - Students have expressed dissatisfaction with the functioning of the placement cell, indicating a lack of effort or resources dedicated to securing job opportunities.

Quality of teaching and placements at this college were satisfactory.
Placements: Approximately 60–65% of the students in computer science and engineering get placements at the IIIT Raichur. 5–9 LPA is the average package offered at this college. The top companies that visited this college were TCS, Flipkart, Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, SALT, etc. For the placements in our course, the top roles offered in this course were software engineer, software developer, web engineer, front-end developer, etc.
Infrastructure: IIIT Raichur has a really good infrastructure for the CSE course. The college has good-quality facilities for the students. The college provides all kinds of facilities to improve students learning. The college has Wi-Fi, labs, a library, a canteen, etc. facilities available on the college campus. The college has hostel facilities for the students. The food in the mess was made with proper hygiene and good taste.
Faculty: IIIT Raichur has a team of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers for the CSE course. Teachers were giving proper practical and theoretical knowledge to the students. The college course curriculum was relevant for our course and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams at this college can be easily passed with regular studies.

Absolutely dissatisfied bacuse of Everything, bad placements, bad infrastructure, bad Campus life.
Placements: I am a 2024 passout, and as per the year, not even a single student got placed in any company. The college is showing old data on placements and claiming that its average package is around 18 LPA, but that's fake. Even the year before, only 5-6 students got placed, and they calculated the average between those 5 only, neglecting all others who were not placed. Internships were also nonexistent. The college is not helping any students with placements; in fact, the college does not have a placement officer, and the director says it is not their duty to get students placed. It is the worst college I have ever heard of.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is as poor as you can imagine. It does not have proper hostels, no proper facilities for entertainment, and even no medical staff in the whole college for students. If they get sick, they have to go to another hospital and get their treatment done with their own money, even though students have paid for medical amenities and medical insurance. Wi-Fi also doesn't work properly, there are no proper computer labs, and there is no AC in the classrooms.
Faculty: Faculty members are bad too because they have just hired faculty members who don't even have experience in B.Tech colleges. They have turned the college into a primary school where you have to follow strict discipline and behave like students. Half of the faculty members don’t even know what they are teaching, and they grade students based on favoritism. If you keep pleasing your faculty members, they will give you good grades; if not, your grades will be below average, especially in projects and assignments.
Other: There are no fests in college and no big events. One to two events happen only because a few students take the initiative, and even in those events, faculty members try to interfere and stop things. Additionally, they increase the fee mid-course; for example, in the first semester, I was paying 1,26,000, but by the last semester, the fee had increased to 1,46,000. Now, the fee has reached around 1,70,000 for new students.

College is decent with good study and sports curriculum but campus life is not there
Placements: Last year placement was good with AVG package of 14 lakhs and current placement season is going on companies like Amazon Flipkart jio and c dot government company and other decent companies are also visiting for placement s and all ohters highest package offered was 45 lakhs from Amazon all roles are sde
Infrastructure: Not good not enough space for hostels in one hostel there are 7 students living in one room but academic Blok is kind of decent good enough there are fans WiFi located everywhere mess is really good in comparison to other colleges canteen is also combined with mess
Faculty: Faculty are less but all are really helpfull and exams are also nice u can get enough knowledge from professors if u asked doubts to faculties in midnight soms faculties will solve at r that also they have enough knowledge yeah if u read wisely course will make u industry ready semesters exam difficulties above avg u have to study lot pass exam exam curriculum is tough

This college is not for beginners, but in future it would be amazing.
Placements: Placement is very bad. In my batch, no one was selected. Because the placement cell is not working properly. We don't have a proper body to be placed in, and colleges don't think much about it. One more reason is that, due to the recession, companies didn't visit our college.
Infrastructure: Course curriculum is okay, but there are still a few courses they offer that are not necessary. So they should work on it. Hostel facilities are not good enough. In hostels, we face internet issues most of the time. If some equipment is damaged, then it will take a long time to repair it.
Faculty: Faculty are trying to give their best but some rules they try to implement are not necessary. The curriculum can be slightly changed based on which courses are needed and which should be taught only. For exams, they make compromises (in rare case) so this is the best thing I would say.
Other: I want to explore this course and want to do something in this field but due to a due to a lack of facilities and improper management, I couldn't. So I would suggest to other students that when you select any college, first of all, do proper research about it. Initially, they organized festivals but later these things stopped. After that, the college was not interested in any festivals. Gym is facing many problems. They don't provide any basic equipment. In sports, conditions are slightly better than in the in the gym but not good enough.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the campus life, good placements in 2023, academics are good.
Placements: As for the last batch of 2023, 60% of the students appeared for the placements, and almost all of them got placed. The highest package was 45 LPA (2 students), the lowest package was 6 LPA and the average was 15LPA from Amazon, Maruti Motors, Reliance, cdot, and Infosys. Internships record is not good for 2024 passing out batches and only 2 or 3 students of 2025 batch got internships.
Infrastructure: Campus Wi-Fi facility is not good. There is low capacity of labs to accommodate students. The classrooms do not have AC in this hot weather region but have smart screens and a very small library with only a few books. Hostel conditions are worse with 7 people in a single room. The mess food is quite good. There is no canteen or medical facility provided by the college. For sports they have volleyball, basketball and a cricket court.
Faculty: The faculty members are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They are good at teaching and interacting with the students. As our course curriculum is taken from IIT Hyderabad, it’s up to the mark. Exams are quite tough, one needs to study hard to score 7.5+ CGPA.
Other: Events and fests are too rare, transportation is too bad, there is only a small bus stop in front of the college. There are no scholarships from the college.

If you wanna join here, it'll be at your own risk.
Placements: In 2023, IIIT Raichur concluded 68% of placements. The highest package offered in 2023 was 45 LPA, with an average of 18 LPA. The top companies include TCS, Jio, Amazon, Deloitte, etc. As of 2024, there has been no update. Apart from past pass out batches, the current placement scenario is worse.
Infrastructure: In IIIT Raichur College, there are 4 computer labs and 1 library available, with more than two computer labs set to open soon. Wi-Fi is accessible for each student, and three hostels, Tungabhadra and the Federal Hostel, are available for students. The food available is average. Cricket, volleyball, and basketball grounds are present, and students regularly participate in indoor games like TT, badminton, and carrom.
Faculty: The faculty members are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They excel in teaching and interacting with students. Exams are quite tough; one needs to study very hard to score good grades. The pass percentage varies among different faculty members and also depends on student behavior.
Other: In my batch, everyone is friendly, and we all come from different states. The reason I chose this course is that I am interested in this field. Despite our college's low strength, we perform well in many events. Some of us also receive scholarships, mainly for SC, ST, and OBC students.

    Cons:

    * Infrastructure: The temporary campus location lacks permanence, leading to issues with Wi-Fi, power supply, and other essential services.
