To be eligible for the IIIT Sonepat BTech programme, a candidate must pass Class 12 from a recognised board with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational programme as compulsory subjects. No, B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering is not offered by IIIT, Sonepatas. As of now only two specialisatipons are offered:- 

• CSE (Computer Science and Engineering)
• IT (Information Technology)

These two are the only options available for undrgraduate and PhD programme. 

The first semester of the IIIT Sonepat BTech programme commences in the last week of July and ends by the last week of November. The second semester starts in the first week of January and ends in the first week of May. Candidates who are interested in IIIT Sonepat admissions can apply online.

To be eligible for the BTech programme at IIIT Sonepat, candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or any technical vocational subject. Additionally, they must have secured a minimum of 75% aggregate marks (or 65% for SC/ST candidates) in the above-mentioned subjects. Candidates must also have qualified for the JEE Main exam with a valid score. However, meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission, as admission is highly competitive and based on the JEE Main score and performance in the JoSAA counseling process.

The total fee of the IIIT Sonepat BTech course is INR 7.2 lakh. Moreover, the PhD fee is around INR 1.4 lakh. The eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of national-level entrance exams such as JEE main, DASA, GATE, UGC NET, and CSIR NET. Additionally, IIIT Sonepat offers BTech course in two specialisations. These specialisations include Computer Science and Technology and Information Technology.

To get admission at IIIT Sonepat candidates must qualify for the course-wise entrance exams. Candidates can follow the below mentioned steps:

Step 1: Qualify for JEE Main

Step 2: Apply for JoSAA counseling

Step 3: Seat Allocation

JoSAA will allocate seats online according to the candidate's JEE Main score.

Step 4: Seat finalisation

Once the seats are confirmed at IIITSonepat, the candidate must visit the nearest Reporting Centre within the deadline. In case the seat is not confirmed, wait for further seat allotment rounds (if any). After this, report to IIITSonepat for seat confirmation and admission. The verification of the documents would be done at the time of counseling/admission, where candidates must pay the tuition fee.
