At the time of JEE Main registration and final seat allotment via JOSAA students must keep the following documents and information ready for a smooth application process:

• Valid email-id and mobile number
• Academic details related to the Class 10 and Class 12 qualifying exams
• Scanned copy of category certificate (if applicable)

For all the seven specialisations offered under the BTech course of IIT Jammu, a total of 280 seats are available. This intake is as per the official college seat matrix released by JOSAA 2023. The category-wise bifurcation of these seats are as follows:

Students pursuing a course from IIT Jammu are open to scholarships. The institute offers a Merit-cum-Means scholarship to Gen/ OBC-NCL/ EWS category students. The students recieve INR 1,000 per month along with refund of tuition fee under this scholarsip.

The total tuition fee for IIT Jammu is INR 8 lakh. Other than the tuition fee, students have to pay other one-time charges and those who opt for hostel facilities are required to pay an extra amount for it. To answer the second question of whether IIT Jammu BTech fee is expensive or not, the fee for all IITs is almost similar to each other. However, it is comparatively less than other top BTech colleges such as BITS where the BTech tuition fee goes up till INR 19 lakh. 

Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, in 2023, became eligible for the esteemed NIRF rankings for the first time, and achieved a notable milestone by securing the 67th position in the Engineering category, thereby elevating its position among the top two 3G IITs. The NIRF 2023 was approved by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and launched by the Honourable Minister of Education on June 5 2023. This framework considers a few parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. IIIT Allahabad accpets JEE Main score for admission to the BTech courses. As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech. 

So, considering the previous year Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks, candidates seeking admission to IIIT Allahabad must secure a rank over and above 4800 and 9600 for the General ALL India category candidates.

IIT Jammu 2024 cutoff ranks for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering other than General category are mentioned below

While the admissions are based on the scores/ rank obtained in JEE Advanced, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Mathematics and Computing is 7855 which is very close to this range. This was for General category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission at IIT Jammu - Indian Institute of Technology.

The placements are going on for the BTech Class of 2024 at IIT Jammu. As of July 13, 2024, the IIT Jammu the highest offered to BTech CSE students during IIT Jammu placements 2024 stood at INR 52 LPA. Further, the IIT Jammu CSE average package offered to BTech batch 2024 stood at INR 19 LPA. A total of 114 companies visited the campus and presented 132 job offers to the students of the BTech batch 2024.
