IIT Kanpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty & Facilities ,

Placements: At least 80% every year the placement opportunity starts for every batch. While for some years the placement reaches to around 95% with a selection of around each individual seating in the placement session. The highest salary offered was around 1.48 cores. The lowest offered is around 7 lakhs per annum. The percent of internship offered around 70%.

Placements: Placements are good compared to state colleges, NITs and other (newer IITs), while it is kind of average compared to other top IITs. Most of the companies visiting here are software, coding-based and the majority of the rest belong to consultancy, analyst, finance groups, etc. Only a few core companies visit the company especially for branches like material science, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, etc. The placement cell people are working very hard to make it better in coming years. ...

Placements: The placements are excellent. The college provides a placement cell SPU which has students representatives of all departments and the staff from the college. These contact the interested companies and firms to invite them to the college for placements. The placement statistics show close to 100 percent placement. Highest package offered - 24 LPA. Average package offered - 10 LPA. Minimum package offered - 6 LPA.

Placements: I am not placed as I am still studying right now, but it has a very good placement and we will be applying for placements. I hope I will get placed with a good package. Normally, IITK offers a good placement offer for its student. Students are hardworking and extracurricular activities are held to a large extent.

Placements: We are having a good response by our seniors in terms of placements. It is not that much easy as you have to do a lot of hard work and preparation to clear different stages. If you want placements in the private sector, do a lot of competitive coding and develop skills on how to talk and react on a particular question.

Placements: About 70% of the placement was recorded in 2016. The average salary was about 10-11 lakhs per annum. However, average in CSE was about 18 lakhs per annum, and in EEE was 16 lakhs per annum. The companies visiting the campus include Microsoft, Dr.Reddy's, Schlumberger, Reckitt Benckiser, Futures First, JSW, Axis Bank, Wipro, EXL services, etc. For internships, the stats were about 50% with stipends offered from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 2,00,000. Same companies came for internships and placements.

Placements: Around 70-80% of the students who apply for the placements get placed. There are many circumstances on which this % depends like a student who gets a job but then rejects it due to further researches, etc. Other things which are the obstacles in the way of placements is carelessness of students towards the mock test preparation.

Placements: I secured a pre-placement offer in Deutsche Bank & also an offer to join as a social media co-ordinator at ZEE Media. The placement offers are superb if you are deserving. Everyone gets placed if they want to. The highest packages may go up to 2 crores per annum & the average is around 15 lacs. All leading companies come for placements from Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Tesla to Indian giants like ITC, HUL, etc. All get internships if they desire to.

Placements: Placement for this course is almost zero percent since no company come for placements. But for other courses, there is a good placement and student from this course also can apply for placements through other courses. The average package goes up to 10-15 lakhs.

Placements: The top recruiters are Google, Amazon, Facebook, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Directi, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Instagram. The highest package was Rs. 1.67 crore and the average package was Rs. 24.5 lakhs. The roles offered were software developer, security and cryptography analyst, data structure, and algorithm coder.

Placements: The placement for our senior batch was good with the average package being 15 LPA. Around 85% computer science students bagged offers from big companies and some overseas offers. Companies that gave the offers were Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe Systems, Flipkart and some other big names. The roles that our seniors got were mostly core computer profiles.

Placements: The placement over here is good as compared to other colleges in India. If you have an interest in coding and learning new things, then it is a good opportunity to get here and grab the best job. It depends upon your zeal and knowledge and practical skills. Companies like Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Tower, Schlumberger, ITC, etc come here to give you high packages.

Placements: IIT-Kanpur student placement office does not disclose placement information publicly since it is their policy. The profiles are analytics, consultancy, R&D, finance, science and technology and core engineering in PSUs. I don't know much about the internship data.

Placements: As per the stats of 2015-16, the placement was very good. Overall 86.8% got placement and from MSE branch, 68.35% got placed in reputed companies. The average package is about 9 LPA, the highest was about 30 LPA and the lowest was about 6LPA in MSE branch. Placements: I was in the environmental engineering and management department. Placement was not good for our batch or our senior batch. For seniors, only 2 companies came and for our batch, only 2-3 universities came for lectureship. They were offering around 5-6 lakh packages only.

Placements: The placements have been in accordance with the last few years. The first half of the batch got placed within 15 days with average CTC of 8 LPA, but the rest of the batch had to go on till the end of the graduation to secure a job. Most of the roles offered were in the Software segment as well as data analysts. Around 90% of the students went for internships either abroad or in different companies to gain experience.

Placements: All M.Tech students in the civil department with structural engineering specialization either got a placement or went for Ph.D. 100% of the eligible students got placed. The highest, lowest, and average salary offered was 12 lakhs, 5.25 lakhs, and 6 lakhs respectively. For civil engineering, companies which visited are L&T construction, L&T, KEC International etc.
