The Science and the HSS Department of IIT Kharagpur started four-year BSc programme admission to which is subject to a valid rank in JEE Advanced exam.  Aspirants seeking IIT Kharagpur BSc and Integrated MSc admission need to qualify for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams to get shortlisted. For eligibility, candidates are required to have completed their Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate. Those who would like to earn an MSc degree are given the option to do so at the end of the sixth semester of the BSc programme. Accordingly, the seventh and eighth semesters are planned so that a candidate gets an MSc degree at the end of the tenth semester.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 5395 and closing rank was 5847. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 2284 and 12359. Admission to BSc in Economics in IIT Kharagpur is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

IIT Kharagpur offers a four-year BSc course along with a five-year Integrated MSc course across six specialisations each. Those willing to pursue a postgraduate integrated course can take admission in BSc-MSc Integrated, criteria and admission process of which is same as that of BSc. Yes, IIT Kharagpur accepts CAT scores for admission to its MBA programme. The selection process involves a Personal Interview (PI) with a 40% weightage, Application Rating (AR) contributing 20%, and CAT score accounting for 40% at the final selection stage. The Aggregate Score, derived from these components, determines the candidates' selection, emphasising the importance of their CAT performance. Admission decisions are based on the ranks achieved in the Aggregate Score.

Master in Medical Science and Technology (MMST/ MMRT) is a three-year course offered by the School of Medical Science and Technology, IIT Kharagpur. The selection for the MMST is based on a computer-based test conducted by the institute. Aspirants must have an MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate and have passed Mathematics in Class 12 to apply for MMST at IIT KGP.

The eligibility criterion for admission to MMST students is an MBBS degree recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) with a minimum of 55% aggregate with Mathematics at Class 12 level (even as an additional subject) or from any recognised open university. Seats are reserved for SC/ ST/ OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates and Persons with Disability (PwD) as per Govt. of India rules.

The answer is no. It is possible to get admission in any IIT with JEE Main score provided a student also qualifies the JEE Advanced exam. As per the official details of IIT Kharagpur admission, admission to IIT KGP fBTech programme is subject to a valid score in JEE Main and JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA Counselling. Additionally, students must have also completed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate (for the General category).

However, there are other courses offered at IIT Kharagpur which does not require a student to have a score in JEE Advanced, such as LLM, PhD and MBA. If the dream is just to study at IIT Kharagpur, students can also opt for other courses basis their current eligibility and course requirements.
