Best IIT college in this world.
Placements: Here, it is the oldest college in Asia. It has immense potential for placements. On average there are above 80% of placements in circuital branches (on campus). About 50% of students got placed in core branches. It is about that with the help of government jobs for core branches, we will be there in the comfort of life.
Infrastructure: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, being one of the premier institutions in India, offers a range of facilities that support both academic and extracurricular activities. Infrastructure and amenities contribute significantly to the overall development of students. However, while many aspects are commendable, there are certain areas that can be improved.
Faculty: Faculty members at IIT Roorkee are highly qualified, with extensive academic and industry experience. Professors are knowledgeable and dedicated, offering valuable insights into their respective fields. Many faculty members actively engage in research, contributing to advancements in science and technology. Their teaching methods often include a mixture of traditional lectures and modern approaches such as interactive discussions, case studies, and project-based learning. However, some students feel that certain faculty members could adopt more student-centric teaching methods to make learning more engaging and application-oriented.
Other: I think improvement as a student is that attendance criteria are very strict. Fests are awesome as nothing else I have ever seen.

Other: Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Roorkee, established in 1847, is the oldest and the largest in India. It offers a comprehensive four-year B. Tech program in Civil Engineering. It encompasses core subjects such as structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, and transportation engineering. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It prepares students for diverse challenges in the field. IIT Roorkee Electrical Engineering student review.
Placements: Out of 174 students, nearly 100 get placed every year. This information was not provided to us. Companies such as Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, and PWC recruit from our batch. Around 60% of students are placed in companies like Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, PWC, Myntra, etc. The average salary package offered for an electrical engineering student is about 20 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided separately in both hostel and classrooms. In labs, we are provided with good and well-maintained equipment. Classrooms are also monitored regularly. Library is well-maintained and has good security. In hostel, conditions are a bit uncomfortable, especially in summer, as there is a lot of suffocation and no air conditioning. However, other aspects of the hostel are better. Mess provides good-quality food, but it is more comfortable for South Indian students, with only a few items being good in taste. However, fruits and other services in mess are good in the afternoon. Medical facilities are free and offer a quick response depending on the issue. Sports are also encouraged, with many events held that offer prize money, inter-IIT competitions, and an event called 'Sangram' that was recently held.
Faculty: For this particular course, need to work consistently, and shouldn't slack off for even one day. This course offers more flexibility, choose whatever path they want after graduation. It doesn't just stick to core subjects but allows to explore different career paths. Exams are a little tough, but they are manageable if stay on track continuously. Students should spend a lot of time in lab sessions and practicals. Overall, the course is good, useful, and provides a new experience.

Secure a good rank in JEE Advanced and get yourself a seat in IIT Roorkee for the best learning.
Placements: 90% students got placed with an average package of 24 LPA. The highest package was offered around 40 LPA and the lowest around 12 LPA. ONGC, Schlumberger, Amazon, ICICI Bank, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, and American Express are top recruiters. 80% students got an internship, and for some, it got converted into PPOs. Data Scientists, SDE, Core roles were offered along with others.
Infrastructure: Amazing lecture halls and labs. The library has all facilities ranging from PCs to reading space, and every book a student would require. Students receive high-speed unlimited data anywhere on the campus. Hostel facilities are also great. Study room, gym, visitors area, and 24*7 canteen facilities are provided. Mess food is of high quality and good in taste.
Faculty: Most of the professors are graduates from top Indian and foreign institutions with great knowledge and are dedicated to sharing knowledge. But there will be a few hard to deal with, and you need to study from various resources for your exams. Most of the professors I have encountered are helpful when it comes to projects and deadlines. The course curriculum is well structured. We also have field training included in our curriculum to craft students to be industry-ready.

Life at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
Placements: Placements are fair enough at IIT Roorkee. If you maintain a CGPA greater than 7, it would be sure that you will be placed. Although most of the students get PPO from companies where they have done internships. For internships, there are fewer companies comparatively. In my batch of chemical engineering, out of 120, only 26 students got internships. While for higher branches, opportunities are at speak.
Infrastructure: Our hostels are clean and have a lot of facilities like a gym room, common room, TV room, laundry, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The mess food is decent with varieties of every region. Almost every festival is celebrated in all hostels. There are Bhawan days celebrated for each hostel. The library contains over 3,000-4,000 books with a lot of E-journals. There are medical facilities on campus.
Faculty: All faculty members hold Ph.D. from top universities either in India or abroad. Every student is allowed a faculty advisory to which they can discuss their academic concerns. Exams are conducted twice a semester. We have mid-term and end-term exams. Quizzes are conducted for each subject twice. You can easily maintain an 8 CGPA if you are consistent in classes.
Other: The most amazing thing about IIT Roorkee is its fests named Thomso and Cognizance. Another exciting thing is the location of my college which is between hills like Mussoorie, Valley of Flowers, Lansdowne, etc.

The best life experience at IIT Roorkee.
Placements: There are 1600 students in our batch and from that, only 800,000 have been placed till now. The highest package is 1.5 crores, the lowest is 6 lakhs, and the average package is 25 lakhs. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Also, like placements, only 50% of student got internships in many big and small companies. The top roles offered in our course are software development engineering, hardware engineering, data science, and data analysis.
Infrastructure: Fully air-conditioned lecture halls and library access to Wi-Fi also consist of smartboards, projectors, etc. The hostel rooms are quite good, having a study table, a chair, a tea table, a bed, cupboard, all basic amenities, access to high-speed internet, games a tv room and also a gym in the hostel. Mess food is the worst but canteen food is better than mess and canteen food is quite affordable. A hospital is on the campus. All types of games facilities are available in campus, e.g., cricket, football, hockey, basketball, squash, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and good but not all the teachers are helpful; some are very rude. But all the teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is decent. This course curriculum is very relevant to real-world problems as it has many practical subjects that give hands-on experience with real-world applications. Semester exams are quite difficult but you can prepare for them just one or two days before the exam, even if you have not attended the classes. Almost more than 90% of students were able to pass the exams easily.
Other: I chose Electrical because I have interest in this field. The best thing about this course is that it have many practical subjects which give hands-on experience of real-world applications. The things I wish would be better/improved about my course are that the behavior of some professors need to be improved and the placement cell also needs to be improved. There are 2 events held in a year: one is thomso, which is a cultural festival held in mid-October, and the other is cognizance, which is a technical festival held in March.
The campus crowd is very good; people are helping and decent Also, the campus is very beautiful, like heaven There is availability and scope of all extra curricular activities. There are merit-cum scholarships there and based on the criteria, a student is selected.
