Living my dream life. Lot of pressure of exams and tutorials but it's amazing .

Placements: Almost 80% of our students land jobs after graduation. The highest salary package is around 60-70 Lacs rupees per annum (LPA), while the lowest is about 6-7 LPA. Most students average around 11-12 LPA. We've got some big-name recruiters like Tata Motors, BMW, and General Electric snapping up our students! Internships are also a breeze, with about 60% of students scoring them. Siemens and Tata Steel are some of the top companies that offer internships to our students.

Infrastructure: RJB hostel is a bit old, but with friends everything becomes beautiful. The D block in RJB is the newest one and quite good. But the library and department are architectural masterpieces. IIT Roorkee has the most beautiful and natural campus of all the IITs. Each bhawan has study rooms, LAN, and high-speed Wi-Fi in each room. The mess food is manageable but not like home. Medical facilities are available 24/7. IIT Roorkee has the best sports facilities of all the IITs.

Faculty: The teachers here are very qualified and educated, and they ensure that the students are industry-ready. The mechanical engineering program here is evergreen, and it is the core of all other aspects of engineering. There are also a lot of technical societies at IIT Roorkee that are passionate about mechanical engineering, such as ASME, RMS, and SAE. The semester exams are tough, but if we study properly, we can pass.

Other: I chose IIT Roorkee for mechanical engineering because my rank was near 3,000 and I've always had an interest in mechanical engineering. I wish that data science and computer science were integrated with the mechanical department so that innovation could reach its full potential. IIT ROORKEE is a happening place. There are events like Thomso, Cognizance, and Sangram, and something crazy is happening every day that encourages us to do something unique. For extracurricular activities, we have all types of clubs imaginable, from poetry and dance to music and astronomy.

Student life at IIT Roorkee .

Placements: In the middle of the 7th semester, company tests are started. Many big companies came to our college for placements like Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, Samsung, JLR, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Intel, American Express, etc. So this year, nearly about 900 offers were made by different companies. The highest package is of 1.5 crores and the average is about 25 lakhs. So this year nearly about 1600 students are sitting for placements but only 800-900 got placements till now. So basically, I am placed in a company named EXL so I would join this and work hard.

Infrastructure: So basically there are 2 main festivals in our college: one is Thomso, which is a cultural festival held in mid-October and the other is Cognizance, which is held in march and is a technical festival. So the library of our college is where you will find book of all genres, including your academics and literature, fiction, poems, medicinals, biology, etc. The classroom are very big, fully centralized air-conditioned and well developed, consisting of smart board, whiteboard, projector, microphone, speakers, etc. All types of sports facilities and extracurricular activities offered in our college so from the point of view of extracurricular activities, our college is best. There are many social and technical student clubs in IIT Roorkee and all are managed by students like NSS, RMS, ARIES, Robotics, NCC, NSO, etc. It is better and advised to join a club/group, either technical or social or both; it will establish your connections on campus and also strengthen your communication and other skills.

Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio in our branch is very low, like there are 175 students and there is one faculty for one subject but there are almost 50 teachers overall in our branch. And also, there are separate sub-batch of 20-20 students, like there are 8 sub-batch in our branch in which the teaching assistant of Professors teach so overall learning experience is great. The faculties are well trained, Professional and educated from well-known universities, but they teach not so well but at a moderate level. Also, some teachers are very good in our branch; they teach so well that they clear everything, like Vinay Pant Sir, Pramod Agrawal Sir, etc. We can interact with good teachers or the teachers who are having polite behaviour easily and frequently but some of the teachers having very rude behavior, so interacting with them is the worst thing.

IIT Roorkee Electrical Engineering student review.

Placements: Out of 174 students, nearly 100 get placed every year. This information was not provided to us. Companies such as Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, and PWC recruit from our batch. Around 60% of students are placed in companies like Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, PWC, Myntra, etc. The average salary package offered for an electrical engineering student is about 20 LPA.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided separately in both hostel and classrooms. In labs, we are provided with good and well-maintained equipment. Classrooms are also monitored regularly. Library is well-maintained and has good security. In hostel, conditions are a bit uncomfortable, especially in summer, as there is a lot of suffocation and no air conditioning. However, other aspects of the hostel are better. Mess provides good-quality food, but it is more comfortable for South Indian students, with only a few items being good in taste. However, fruits and other services in mess are good in the afternoon. Medical facilities are free and offer a quick response depending on the issue. Sports are also encouraged, with many events held that offer prize money, inter-IIT competitions, and an event called 'Sangram' that was recently held.

Faculty: For this particular course, need to work consistently, and shouldn't slack off for even one day. This course offers more flexibility, choose whatever path they want after graduation. It doesn't just stick to core subjects but allows to explore different career paths. Exams are a little tough, but they are manageable if stay on track continuously. Students should spend a lot of time in lab sessions and practicals. Overall, the course is good, useful, and provides a new experience.

Overview of IIT Roorkee as a good college.

Placements: Around 70-90% of students get placed in my course, and of the batch, 85-95% of students get placed. The highest package of my course has been 50 LPA, and the lowest ranges around 8–9 LPA. Various companies allow my course students to be eligible for internship or placements. About 50% of students got internships from my course in various companies from BCG, HUL, JSW, etc. Companies come for various roles like software developers, product managers, analysts, etc.

Infrastructure: The classrooms are equipped with smart boards, projectors, and high-speed internet connectivity. Also, they are large lecture halls with tiered seating for better visibility. IIT Roorkee has well-equipped labs across various departments. The rooms of hostels have decent accommodation with basic facilities like a bed, cupboard, and study table. Coming to hygiene, it is maintained very well regularly, and the mess food is pretty decent. IIT Roorkee is famous for its sports so it has great sports facilities.

Faculty: All the teachers are well qualified and are always helpful for the doubts. Some teachers have very good teaching techniques. All the courses include their relevant subjects and also help students become industry-ready if the students make some efforts themselves. The semester exam difficulty depends on the teacher who is setting the paper. Almost all students pass the exams but keep exceptions around 99%.

Other: Firstly, IIT Roorkee is one of the top 5 engineering colleges in India and also had some interest in the core so I preferred Production and Industrial Engineering. There are three major festivals in my college:THOMSO: This is the cultural festival of IIT Roorkee Recognition—this is the tech fest of IIT Roorkee and Sangram—is the sports fest of IIT Roorkee.

This college is very good for every student who likes engineering.

Placements: In this course, about 85 to 90 percent of students were placed. The highest package in this course is 1 crore, and the lowest package is 6 lakhs per annum. Top recruitment companies in this college include Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. About 90 percent of students got internships in this course, with the top roles offered being software and hardware engineer.

Infrastructure: All types of facilities are available in my department, such as Wi-Fi facilities with very fast speeds. The labs are very good, and the classrooms are also good, all equipped with AC. The library contains thousands of books. Hostel facilities are also good, and the quality of food is better than in any other hostels I have seen. The hospital is open 24x7, and all types of games are available.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good and friendly. This course curriculum is very relevant and makes students industry-ready. The semester exam is a little tougher than moderate, and about 99 percent of students passed.
