IIT Ropar : Journey to the future.
Placements: In IIT Ropar, approximately 80% of students get placed. The average package of IIT Ropar is 25 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Tata Steel, Amazon, etc. Almost 80 to 85% of students got internships at IIT Ropar. Top roles offered in my course are software development, web development (front end or backend), etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is fantastic. Our hostel and department building have wi-fi, classrooms are fully air conditioned, and we have the facility of a smart board and projectors. The library has AC and wi-fi. It has a variety of books. The campus is well maintained and has greenery all around. The mess food is average but not bad. The medical facility is available 24 hours a day, and there is a fantastic sports complex at IIT Ropar that has grounds for basketball, volleyball, cricket, football, lawn tennis, badminton, athletics, and many more.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. There are very helpful at various steps. The teaching quality is very good because mostly it is practical-based so that it can help us in our future career development. Yes, this course is very useful for the student in the current technological-based era. The semester exam is both moderate and difficult; mid-semester exams are moderate, but end-semester exams are quite difficult. Almost 90 percent of students passed the exams.
Other: I chose this course because I loved mathematics, and there are many job opportunities in the computer field nowadays. The passed batch of mathematics and computing in 2023 had 28 students; out of them, 24 got placed, 2 went for further studies, and 2 remain unplaced. The campus is far from the city, so it has no disturbance. There are many events, but 4 main events are conducted in our college: Zeitgeist (cultural fest), Advitiya (tech fest), Aarohan (sport fest), and Malhar (literacy fest). The scholarship at IIT Ropar is based on the family income of students.

Campus life of IIT Ropar.
Placements: Talking about the placement scenario, it is quite good, as our seniors are currently placed in companies like Google, Oracle, Pattern, Flipkart, BPCL, etc. The average package of the college, including all the branches of engineering in our college, is around 35 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is imposing, as we are one of the new-generation IITs. The infrastructure is maintained well by the authorities, and every year, lacs of rupees are spent to renovate the infrastructure. The hostel rooms are also well-maintained.
Faculty: The teachers and faculty members are highly qualified in their respective domains. Every professor has certain Ph.D. students who work as Teaching Assistants (TA) under the professors. These TAs generally evaluate our quiz papers and exam answer sheets.

Great hostel rooms, amazing crowd to hang out with makes my experience worth it.
Placements: The placement record at IIT Ropar is excellent. In the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department, over 80% of students were placed. The average package offered was 28 LPA, and the highest package was between 50 and 60 LPA. Top companies that recruited from IIT Ropar include Oracle, JP Morgan, Google, EBay, Amazon, and Arista.
Infrastructure: I live in Chenab Hostel, and I think it's quite good. The rooms are spacious enough for two people, and the Wi-Fi is decent. If we need more bandwidth, we can use the LAN. The lecture halls are also pretty good, with six of them, the largest holding 180 people. The mess food is decent, and much better than what I've heard about other colleges. There's a main canteen with several outlets and a medical office that's always open in case of an emergency.
Faculty: The teachers do a good job of explaining everything in class. If we attend class and review the class slides, we should be able to get a good grade. The course curriculum includes things like data structures and algorithms, which will help us become industry-ready.

Good faculty, good placements, and above-average infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 75 percent of the students were placed. The highest package was about 65 LPA, the lowest was about 12 LPA, and the average package was about 22 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, and Nvidia. The percentage of students who got internships was about 70 percent, with companies like Accenture, Intel, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments.
Infrastructure: The classrooms here are good, with air conditioning and comfortable seating. The labs are well-equipped with modern equipment, and the institute has a strong ranking in research. There is Wi-Fi available in classrooms, labs, the library, and all hostels, except for the newly built ones. The library is spacious and has many amazing books to explore and read.
Faculty: The course prepares students to be industry-ready, and besides electrical engineering, they also teach electronics, which helps students enter the electronics industry. The teachers are helpful and qualified. The pass percentage is about 30-35 percent.
Other: Our campus hosts four major fests, including Zeitgeist, which is North India's biggest cultural fest. Extracurricular activities are also available, with several clubs such as tech clubs, literature clubs, and cultural clubs. Various events are held throughout the year, serving as a stress buster for students. Our college also offers many merit scholarships.

The great insight about IIT ropar both good and bad.
Placements: About 90% of the course graduates were placed on campus, while the remaining 10% either pursued higher studies or found off-campus jobs. The highest package for our course was 20 LPA for an SDE role, and the average package lies around 14-15 LPA. Top recruiters for our course in the core domain included Tata Steel and Jindal Steel. Most students also applied in the non-core domain, where companies like Jio and Meesho hire for roles such as Data Analyst and Data scientist. 100% of students secured internships, as internships are compulsory. Half of the internships were on-campus, and the other half were off-campus. Companies like Tata Steel, Accenture, and Deloitte hired for internships. Top roles in the non-core domain included Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Analyst, and Product Manager, with some companies also hiring for SDE roles. In the core domain, roles offered included Materials Engineer.
Infrastructure: As our college is a new IIT, the best thing about it is its infrastructure. It is great and new. Classes and labs are equipped with all kinds of facilities, such as AC, water coolers, and smart boards. The labs have the most expensive and best equipment. Wi-Fi is top-notch, making it one of the best institutes in India. The hostel is comparable to a good hotel. It has every facility, including a lift, geyser, well-maintained bathrooms, drinking water, a gym, and a play area. Two members share a room. The mess provides quality food, but students from other states might need to adjust to the local dishes. There is only one canteen available, which can get crowded, but the food quality there is excellent. Our college has a hospital with a doctor available at specific times, providing good medical facilities. There are various sports grounds and facilities. Inter-IIT and inter-college competitions regularly occur, offering great opportunities for sports enthusiasts.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified; they all hold a Ph.D. degree from abroad or from IITs. They have many years of experience and teach very well. The course curriculum is highly relevant. The lab work, industry visits, projects, and presentations make the curriculum more applicable. Yes, students become industry-ready with all the practical work included in the course. The exams are quite challenging, especially for common courses like Mathematics. Since IITs are a pool of talent, the professors set tough papers. Almost 90% of students pass, but in more difficult courses like Mathematics, the pass rate drops to around 70%.
Other: I chose this course because it was the only one available to me during counseling, and I was desperate to get into an IIT. The course itself didn’t matter much to me. The course should focus more on implementing new techniques, AI, and new tools. Zeigeist is the annual fest conducted, one of North India's largest cultural fests. Bollywood stars, comedians, and hundreds of events are featured. Advitya is the tech fest, and Aarohan is the sports fest conducted. Both receive significant participation. Connectivity is a bit of a problem, as the campus is located far from the city. We have to take an auto to reach here after arriving in Ropar. There is a vibrant club culture, including music, dance, debate, and more. Scholarships are available for SC/ST students and those with low annual incomes in the form of fee waivers.

My experience at IIT Ropar.
Placements: The college has excellent placements. The maximum package was great this year despite the recession and the median was also great. This year, I have done a lot of duties and served as the branch representative of my branch. The top recruiting companies are Google, Zomato, Microsoft, De Shaw, Oracle, and Sprinkler.
Infrastructure: Labs are fully equipped, classrooms are also very good and a special library is also available 24 hours a day. There was perfectly fine food in the mess and canteen. The sports and games are fully equipped, so everything is perfectly fine. The library has a lot of books in all genres.
Faculty: Very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable teachers are there. The teaching quality is simply excellent; the course curriculum is also very relevant and it is very industry-generic as we are provided with the project. The semester ranges from easy to medium and is not very difficult.
Other: Computer science is a very good branch with great professors and great classmates. The only thing I would like to improve is that I would like to increase the number of projects that make the courses more industry-specific. Other than that, the fest is good and campus connectivity are well connected to Chandigarh.
