Our college is maintaining a good placement percentage in recent years.
Placements: This year, overall 89% of students were placed in the mechanical branch. Almost 70% of students got placed. The statistics are not 100% true. The highest salary package offered is around 35 LPA - 45 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 6 LPA - 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 3 LPA - 4 LPA. The salary packages are fine rather to other colleges.
Infrastructure: This college offers Wi-Fi, a canteen for food, classrooms with projectors, different labs, and a library. Our college has a hostel facility. Its fee starting at Rs. 1,05,000 per annum. Price may differ. The food quality is better than other government colleges. The hostel is located outside the campus.
Faculty: Here teachers are well-qualified. Most of them have a master's degree from IITs which is quite good for an engineering college. Our course curriculum is very relevant and contains industry visits so that students can know about the industry. Semester papers are set by IIT KGP's professors so the competition becomes tough.

High placement success, strong internships, diverse roles, and competitive packages.
Placements: Out of 300 students in the computer science batch, around 270 were placed. All 300 students were interned somewhere near the college. There are very high placement chances. Almost 90% of students got placements. The highest salary package offered by Justpay is 42 LPA. The average salary package offered is 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, CTS, TEOCO, etc. IBM and Oracle provide a high salary package of 29 LPA. The highest salary package is offered by Juspay. Top roles offered are SDA - II, AI engineer, junior cloud engineer, and RPA developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good with bathrooms, self-operated classrooms with very good projectors, and a dedicated central lab with centralised air conditioners for students in the computer science department. Wi-Fi is available to use. There are three 24X7 operation libraries. The food quality is average as per students living there. There is a medical room available for people who are suffering from fever or injury. There are new machines installed which are fully automated and can be used for drinks, candies, bars, etc. CCD is also available.
Faculty: Our faculty members are experienced and active at almost any time of the year. They always tend to help their students facing difficulties in higher studies or give internship opportunities. The course curriculum is very relevant as per the latest AICTE guidelines which eventually make students industry experts. Semester exams are a headache for all students. A dedicated 2-month period is provided for exams.
Other: I chose this college because of its high demand and high placement rates throughout Kolkata and better than any other private college in East India. The acceptance rate through exams is pretty low for computer science since the seats fill up very fast. People tend to choose this institute after Jadavpur and sometimes prefer IEM instead of Jadavpur. The tech fest known as Smart Maker's Festival is the greatest tech fest the college offers in collaboration with other IITs and IIITs.

IEM Kolkata Review. Satisfied with faculty, placements, and facilities.
Placements: Placements for this session in 2024 are below average, considering the current job market situation. But I state that it actually gives good placements compared to other colleges that compete. This year, the overall placement rate may reflect the cautious hiring approach adopted by many companies.
Infrastructure: I'm a day scholar, so I can't verify this. But I have heard from my friends that it is not that bad. They are affordable and comfortable. Good value for the hostel feels like you pay. Good Wi-Fi connectivity on campus. This ensures students have seamless access to online resources and digital libraries.
Faculty: Decent faculty. Some pros are genuinely good and help with doubts, research, projects, and assignments. Exams are taken very often here, so you have to be on a roll all the time. Some are very invested in the success and learning of the students, focusing on areas for improvement and continuous professional development.
Other: Campus life is terrible, is what I would like to add. Anyone searching for this college deserves to know this.

About the college Institute of Engineering & Management.
Placements: Top companies visit here, and a variety of classes are taken by the faculty for placement purposes from the 2nd year onwards. The college has very good placements; approximately 80% of students get placed every year. Placements: Almost 80% of students are placed every year. The average package is INR 5.5 LPA. Oracle and EQ Teach are two top companies that pay well.
Infrastructure: The hostel has a very strict discipline. It doesn't allow students to move out after 6:30 for girls' hostels and 7 for boys' hostels. CSE is considered the best branch in IEM. For that, you need to score less than 2000 rank in WBJEE. Apart from that, ECE is also one of the best branches.
Faculty: Exams are going on throughout the year: 2 mid-sem exams, practical exams, and then finally end-sem exams. The Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) in Kolkata, India, accepts several exams for admission to different courses: IEMJEE: The IEMJEE exam is used for admission to various courses at IEM. The exam pattern for the B.Tech course is similar to the JEE Main exam. The exam is conducted online in three slots.
Other: Fests take place like the IEM cultural fest, tech fest, INNOVATION, and also some extracurricular activities.

People looking for good placements can opt for IEM.
Placements: Institute of Engineering & Management (IME), Kolkata, has not released the 2024 placement data. However, the 2024 NIRF report has been released. As per the report, 767 BTech and 21 MTech students were placed during 2023 placements. The median package for BTech and MTech stood at INR 4.80 LPA and INR 4.25 LPA, respectively. In addition to this, 246 MBA students were placed during IEM Kolkata placements 2023. The median package offered to MBA students was INR 15 PA.
Infrastructure: In the name of campus, there are only 3 buildings. No football or cricket ground, only basketball court. The hostel is outside of campus and the food is average. But inside the college there are big, spacious classrooms and a big library. One can have great food stores in the surroundings of our college.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful. Iem provides professors from all topnotch B-schools around the country. Professors are highly qualified, but some professors are extremely good in terms of behaviour, teaching skills, problem solving and helping students.

Good placements, average or below-average infrastructure, average faculty, great events.
Placements: IEM is known for its placement record. Due to recession, the percentage of placed students decreased a fair bit, down from almost 90% to 85%. The highest package offered in 2023-24 was 20 LPA, and the lowest package was 3.5 LPA. The average package offered in my course, which is Computer Science and Engineering, was about 5-6 LPA this past year. Some of the top recruiting companies for the past year were Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, Capgemini. About 30% of students got an internship from the course and in some top MNCs like Juspay. The top roles offered in our course are for the Software Engineering Roles.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure at IEM should improve a fair bit. The Wi-Fi offered in our college isn't the worst, but sometimes it just disconnects without any proper reason. The classrooms are decent; obviously, there can be better chairs and tables installed, and at times during the summer, we would need ACs, which still haven't been installed. A good facility is our canteen, which looks like a proper college canteen. The food offered there is pretty decent. The sports facilities are a bit of a let-off, to be honest, because they don't follow any proper infrastructure. We have got only one basketball court in our college building, where you can play basketball during the recess.
Faculty: The faculty members at IEM are pretty average. All of them are well qualified, but most of them lack teaching ability. Students often go to college only for the purpose of attendance, not because of the teaching quality. Some faculty members are pretty helpful, but others lack knowledge to be able to properly teach particular subjects. The course curriculum is relevant as it teaches students the basic concepts required for a CSE Student to be hired into top MNCs. These subjects include OOPs, DBMS, Data Structures, and Algorithms, etc. The semester exams aren't too difficult, and if you follow a proper study pattern, you would be able to answer most of the questions in the exams. The pass percentage is about 98 percent.
