IEM saltlake Edge cutting technology with best placement record
Placements: Almost 85% of the total number of students present in our college in last academic year 2024. The highest package in campus placement was about 18.5 LPA and off campus was about 24.5 LPA. The lowest package was about 4.5LPA. The top recruiting companies at our college for my course are Infosys ,TCS, Cognizant, Wipro ,PWC and also Hp and Nvidia. Almost more than 70% student completed their internship and among them 40% were placed at respective companies from their itself. Most of the internship were in Fresh startup located in Kolkata and also in MNC like Wipro ,Cognizant. The major roles offered in our college placement were Front developers as well as back end ,Cloud computing, Prompt engineering as well Consultant managers.
Infrastructure: Our college has one of the best infrastructure in the North eastern belt amount all the private colleges. With High speed 100mbps wifi available at every classroom, with ample number labs for every student with adequate resources. Our college has also libraries for every year student separately. In the 1st year building we had like more than 5 auditorium and about more than 30 classrooms including lab and high tech research laboratories. Our college do have several hostels but can't accommodate all the students thus opting for PGs and other staying facilities. We have 2 canteens in 1st year building with 1 CCD and 2 lunch corners .We do have doctor and medical stuff available during the college hours. We also have gym facilities.
Faculty: Most of the faculties and senior professor are highly helpful especially while they provide notes in their every lectures and even sometimes we also have Google classroom where several assignment and pyq are also given for exam purposes. Currently college got the status of autonomous University under UEM, thus we could have much focused and detailed curriculum in todays job market scenario. We also have got individual MATLAB subscription that's a big boon for us in order keep us updated with modern evolving tools. Our college has also provided us the access of LinkedIn learn learning courses and also COURSERA access that helps us complete other course apart from our curriculum. The semester exams questions papers are set by IIT professor themselves , thus saying it one can easily understand the level of papers set. Almost 95% pass every year in each semester.
Other: I personally had a great love for electronics in this changing era where Electronics had high demand and also it availability in few of the college in the country. I choose ECE need not to mention for its high paying jobs relevant to job market. I wish more numbers of core companies would have arrived at our in campus placement drive. There are ample number of college fest and cultural event taking places in alternative months. Last month we got to participate in Smart Makers fest organized by our colleges where we got the exposure of several industry experts. In line we have another fest organized by the ECE department named SYTRON and after that we have Mechatronics organized by Mechanical department. Saying so our college is located at the heart of the silicon valley of Kolkata where we have several MNCs around us, where we are continuously observed by our future recruiters.

Satisfied with the placements and faculty members.
Placements: About 70% of students got placed in IT companies, and the rest got placed in core companies, among those who opted for placement. The freshers are going to get a similar package as any other CSE graduate. ECE has a growing scope in the future and IEM can be a good decision with it.
Infrastructure: Great infrastructure, somewhat like school, but it's best for those who are interested in studying. In hostels, the gates are closed by 7 pm ( for boys). Labs are really good with well-equipped machines. Good ECE labs with friendly faculty members. Wi-Fi is also there.
Faculty: One can get marks easily if they study the notes and pdfs given by the college itself. The curriculum has been autonomous since this year. It would be easier to score marks. There are regular exams, though. It's really strict about exams; one must have no backlog in placement time!

Best private engineering college.
Placements: Previous year the placements were good; this year the list is not out yet, Previous year average was around 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are from Oracle, Tcs, Wipro, IBM, etc. Internship opportunities are available by almost every student and the top roles offered from ECE are analyst, signaling, etc.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is average, it gets disconnected often and 1 gb is the limit for one day, The labs are good, but there is no AC, The classrooms are also average, no AC, The library is good, with AC and desktop and no noise. There is a gym and sports room where there are carrot, table tennis, pool games, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, except for a for a few. Almost all of them are qualified from top IITs and Jadavpur University to do their Masters and PhDs. This course makes the students ready for both hardware and software industries, as well as central government jobs.

Privileged to be a part of one of the best engineering colleges in India.
Placements: The Institute of Engineering and Management is the best private engineering college in the whole of eastern India, in terms of academics and placements. We are from the 2024 passout batch, and even in times of recession, our college was able to provide decent placements. Approximately 80% of students from our college got placed this year, while the rest have chosen other fields like MBA, M.Teach, and other higher studies. While the highest package was that of Juspay (18 LPA), the lowest was that of 3.6 LPA (TCS Ninja). The average package was around 5 LPA. TCS, PWC, Deloitte, ITC Infotech, IBM, COGNIZANT, and Oracle are some of the renowned companies that visited our college this year. Most of the companies that visit our college are IT companies, and there are only a handful of core companies that visit our college. Unfortunately, our college doesn't provide any assistance for internships. But the students are free to apply for internships off-campus.
Infrastructure: Our college has excellent infrastructure for the students, but there is still a lot of scope for improvement. The entire college campus has Wi-Fi access. The labs are equipped with modern equipment. IEM Kolkata has a huge library with a wide and comprehensive collection of technical books and magazines. All the classrooms are equipped with projectors. But on the Gurukul campus, some of the classrooms are not equipped with proper benches, and there are chairs. So there is scope for improvement in this field. IEM Kolkata also provides hostel facilities. Even though the hostel rooms are clean and spacious, the hostel food is below standard.
Faculty: The teachers at IEM Kolkata are extremely helpful. Most of the teachers are highly qualified and experienced. The teachers help the students in every situation. The teachers are extremely dedicated, and the teaching quality was great. The course curriculum is extremely helpful and is designed according to current trends and requirements. But I would request that the college authority introduce hands-on coding into the curriculum, which would greatly benefit the students. Also, there are a few unnecessary subjects like ESP and SDP (where students are forced to read history and geography), which should be removed from the curriculum or made optional. So still, there is scope for improvement in this field. The semester exams are easy, and most of the students clear them.
Other: I got into this college through WBJEE counselling. I chose electronics and communication engineering because of its wide scope. ECE engineers can choose any pathway after graduation; they can go for IT or they can stick to the core field. There are a few things that could have been improved. There were no classes in the 4th year, as our college wanted the students to stay back at home and prepare for placements. Therefore, we were not able to learn much related to our course during our final year. Also, there is very poor junior-senior interaction in our college. The juniors will greatly benefit if they get proper guidance from their seniors. Also, there is scope for improvement in campus life. IEM has a very small and scattered campus. Moreover, there is no field inside the college campus. IEM has a lot of events going on throughout the year, like the IEM-UEM Marathon, IEMPACT (cultural fest), INNOVACION (technical fest), and so on.

Institute of Engineering and Management College Review
Placements: Approximately 70-75% of students were placed from the ECE department in the recent batch. The highest package was approximately 10 LPA, the lowest was 3.5 LPA, and the average was 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, SAP Labs, Deloitte, Wipro, Capgemini, etc. Roles offered include Software Engineer, Software Developer, Network Engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. The campus is very small. The Wi-Fi facility is only available at the lab. The quality of food is not so good, but it’s okay. Hostel is available for boys and girls. The rooms are clean. The campus includes a basketball court, an indoor sports room, and facilities for other sports.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers are very helpful and always available to solve students' doubts. The teaching quality is also good; they provide notes after each class. The semester exams are not very difficult, and the passing percentage is very high.
Other: I would suggest you take admission in this campus if you want to go back to your school days again. IEM is like a school; you should follow all the college rules strictly. You have to maintain 75% attendance, you have to wear the college dress, and without the college dress, you will not be allowed to enter the college campus. Many rules are in place.
