Review of Institute of Engineering and Management.
Placements: Around 97-98% of students get placed every year in all branches. Our college provides only a few internships. Students should find internships by themselves. The top recruiting company is Tata.
Infrastructure: Our college had 2-3 buildings. Hostels and their facilities were not good.
Faculty: Our faculty members were supportive and friendly. They always helped us. Exams were conducted strictly. Students should prepare well to pass exams.

A brief review of IEM, Kolkata.
Placements: The placements are good compared to the other private colleges in the state. As per as my seniors, if you get around 7.5 or 8 CGPA, you will be allowed to sit for all the interview exams. Mostly TCS and Wipro comes to recruit from our college. On the website they show 8 LPA as the average salary package, but in reality, it around only 4 to 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good in comparison to the other colleges in Kolkata. They will provide you with all the equipments to do your projects and assignment work for the college. In my 1st year, we had a workshop where you need to do the mechanical stuff, and there you will get all the industry made machines you need for the job, which was really amazing to be honest.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are very helpful, they will guide you in every possible way. Most of them are very friendly except a few who can’t even talk for real. To be really honest, the course is useless and I am doing it only for the sake of getting a degree while trying to focus on my coding skills, ultimately that will only get you a job in today's scenario and job market.
Other: I chose the course because in my childhood days I was really fascinated with electrical appliances. If in the course they would add some real life stuff and some new techniques which are being used nowadays, that would be better. Every year, we have one fest which is really big. Actually we did not expect much from the fest but it turned out to be really great.

I am not satisfied with this college.
Placements: All students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered for our course is 7 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered ranges between 2 LPA - 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are EY, Capgemini, and Accenture. Students got internships from off campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not good. Our college is not well-maintained. Classrooms are not very good. Our college provides only a few facilities. All facilities are average. Sports facilities are not proper.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They always help us a lot during exams. They provide important things and questions. Their teaching quality is not that good, and they always get changed. The course curriculum is average.

People looking for good placements can opt for IEM.
Placements: Institute of Engineering & Management (IME), Kolkata, has not released the 2024 placement data. However, the 2024 NIRF report has been released. As per the report, 767 BTech and 21 MTech students were placed during 2023 placements. The median package for BTech and MTech stood at INR 4.80 LPA and INR 4.25 LPA, respectively. In addition to this, 246 MBA students were placed during IEM Kolkata placements 2023. The median package offered to MBA students was INR 15 PA.
Infrastructure: In the name of campus, there are only 3 buildings. No football or cricket ground, only basketball court. The hostel is outside of campus and the food is average. But inside the college there are big, spacious classrooms and a big library. One can have great food stores in the surroundings of our college.

KGEC is better than IEM, but in terms of placement, IEM is far better than KGEC, but if you want to enjoy the college life then choose KGEC, otherwise if you want to study very hard then choose IEM.

Hello Soumya, You can get admission in IEM. You will probably not get CSE but can get other branches like IT, ECE, EEE, EE or ME. In IEM only 10% seats are allotted for admission through JEE Main. So, it depends on luck.
