    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is BE/BTech at IMI Noida a Good Choice?

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's what we've gathered:

    * Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure, with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, and hostels. While rooms in the hostel may not be luxurious, they're functional.

    * Faculty: Professors are generally considered knowledgeable and supportive. Many are retired naval captains or experienced professionals who bring real-world expertise into the classroom.

    * Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for industry requirements. Students appreciate the emphasis on practical learning, internship opportunities, and exposure to real-world projects.

    * Placements: Although the number of recruiters and job offers might be limited compared to other colleges, almost 90% of students reportedly secure placements within 6 months of graduating. Top recruiters include Maersk Line, M.Sc. PIL, Fleet, Synergy, and Dockendale.

    * Campus Life: Campus life could improve, with limited recreational activities and a relatively small campus area. However, the institution encourages extracurricular activities and participates in national-level competitions.

    * Supportive Environment: Despite its limitations, the college fosters a supportive atmosphere where students feel encouraged to pursue their passions and interests outside of academics.

In conclusion, while there may be areas for improvement, BE/BTech at IMI Noida appears to offer a solid foundation for a career in marine engineering. With a focus on practical learning, industry connections, and a supportive faculty-student ratio, graduates can expect a competitive edge in the job market.

    Review of International Maritime Institute.
Placements: Only 4 major companies visit our college for placements, and each of them hires not more than 3 students. Even major companies have stopped visiting our college now, or since the market getting many officers and don't have enough jobs. So, the interview process made tougher. But our college wants more students to take admission in it because it is benefitting from them. After you pay fees, it doesn't care whether you get placed or not.
Infrastructure: Rooms are pretty fine in the hostel, and in every room, about 4 students have to stay, which is compulsory. It is the worst part, and beds aren't up to the mark. The food served in the hostel is quite fine but don't put high expectations. On Sunday, good food is served. There is no air-conditioning system in the hostel. Our college is quite small as it is spread over only 1,000 square yards. Gym and the recreation room are not up to the mark at all. However, I guess you would be used to it but not up to the mark. The quality of the library is well. There is a swimming pool, which is visible from the hostel and classrooms.
Faculty: Teachers here are good and friendly. You can have fun with them and vice versa. In subjective matter also, they are good. But the course curriculum is of 4 years duration and is provided by Indian Maritime University. You will have good chief engineers and faculty members.
Other: I was amongst the lucky batches in which major companies visited. After those companies stopped visiting the campus, students suffered to get jobs. The campus life is very poor here, and there is no anything to keep you motivated. If you are self-motivated and disciplined, then it is good. There's no proper ground to play sports.

Infrastructure: This institute has a good infrastructure for the marine engineering course. The facilities available for the students were of good quality and properly maintained. Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, hostel, sports and various other facilities were given to the students. The college organizes various sports tournaments for the students.

It is the best maritime college in North India.
Placements: The average placement percentage in our college is 90%-95%. Companies like Maersk Line, M.Sc. PIL, Fleet, Synergy, Dockendale, etc., visit the campus regularly for placements. Recently our college has been tied-up with M.Sc. company. So there is no issue regarding placements and don't believe rumours.
Infrastructure: The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and the hostel provides 24*7 unlimited Wi-Fi facility. There are swimming Pool, ship in campus (where all shipping machinery like boiler, freshwater generator, purifier, main engine and other machinery are available in working condition). The college has a library, workshops like machine shop, welding shop, fitting shop, carpentry shop are some main equipment of our institute. Classrooms are equipped with green boards and projectors. The college also has football ground, cricket ground, badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court, table tennis and other indoor-outdoor games fields. Gym facility is also available here.
Faculty: Almost 90% of faculty members of IMI College are chief engineers, captains and ship superintendent. They teache us marine-related subjects. Other 10% of teachers are used to teach us environment science, general mathematics, and some other subjects. So, there is no problem, according to faculty. For every subject, we have separate faculty members. All faculty members have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. They always ready to help the students and encourage them to do something huge and new. For example, recently, a big working project that is Oily Water Separator is done by B.Tech 3rd year students with the help of faculty members.
Other: Every year on the 5th of April (National Maritime Day) a sport and cultural events are conducted, in which some maritime colleges participate. Inter batch competition is conducted between different batches, then the winner of the competition is awarded by our college.

IMI college looks small in infrastructure. placement are 70% to 80%. in 2015 faulty was dissatisfied
Placements: IMI is only a single college in North India who conduct marine engineering. It is the best option for those who are near to Delhi NCR. In my batch 40 students are there out of 30 students are placed, rest are all got placement by it took time. My senior batches around 70% got campus placement, and junior batches got 100%. This college growth year by year in term of placements. IMI collaborate with some of the biggest companies like. MEARSK LINE M.Sc. FLEET MANAGEMENT. PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL LINE (Singapore). DAYRA. and some others. When I was placed, PIL offers me 720USD, to the server as a joiner engineer. But you will get more and more as you clear your MMD exams. The highest package you can get around 12000USD (7,50,000) per month, as a chief engineer and as a caption of the ship. To get admission, you have to clear IMU CET exam and then on rank basis colleges are allowed. Thank you.
Infrastructure: IMI provides hostel on the campus. There are 2 hostel buildings. The classrooms are high tech, with all new technology labs. The Medical facilities are there 24*7. The campus has football ground, basketball ground, etc. The food is the best in IMI. In fact, in all greater Noida's college best food you will get here, it's my guarantee. The hostel rooms are comfortable with bunker beds up and down. Because it's Navy college. So they give us in such a way. I didn't face any infrastructure issues in my college time.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful but let me tell you one thing if you want to get the success you should study your self more. At my time teaching methods are not good. But at the end, they change some stuff. The student-faculty ratio 200:40. IMI send every batch for ship visit in Mumbai and Gujarat. That is called as industries visit. The ship visit is that a movement when you visit ship 1st time in your life, that was amazing. You know what machinery is there and conditions of life on board.
Other: Every year IMI celebrate National Mamerette Day. Where some other colleges also get together and conduct some sports. The campus connectivity is easy. Only 900m from Pari Chowk Greater Noida. You can get easily an auto rickshaw.
