    On Placements

Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.E. / B.Tech students at JBIT College?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

    Success Rate of Placement Cell

    * The placement cell in JBIT College seems to be inefficient, as companies often visit the campus to recruit only female students due to the absence of suitable profiles among male students.
    * There is no emphasis on preparing students for placements, especially during the pandemic.
    * The placement cell does not actively contact recruiters or follow up with students after the placement process.
    * Despite these challenges, some students managed to secure placements, with 30-40% of students getting placed annually.
    * Companies like Wipro, Infosys, and Amazon visit the campus for placements, offering packages ranging from INR2.4 LPA to INR13 LPA.
    * The college offers internship drives, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in their field.
    * While the placement cell has its shortcomings, it appears that students have been able to secure placements despite these limitations.

    Placement Statistics

    * About 30% of students from the previous batch secured placements.
    * The highest salary package offered was INR10 LPA through an off-campus drive.
    * Average salaries ranged from INR15,000 to INR10,000 per month.
    * Top recruiters included Infosys, TCS, and Tech Mahindra.

    Faculty Support

    * Mentors and professors provide guidance throughout the placement process.
    * The college's placement cell prepares students for campus placements and on-campus drives.
    * Industry experts and professionals occasionally engage with students to discuss their careers and provide valuable advice.

Keep in mind that while these statistics and comments may indicate a mixed bag in terms of the placement cell's success, it is essential to remember that individual results can vary significantly depending on factors such as academic performance, communication skills, and personal networking efforts.

The feel is high, but I suggest it is not worth joining this college.
Placements: As per placements, in 100%, maybe 45 to 55% are placed. The highest package is 14 LPA, the average package is 3.5 to 5 LPA, and the lowest package is 2 to 3 LPA. Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Technovert, Eidiko, and Cognizant are some of the top recruiters. As for internships, the college is offering some companies for learning purposes, where we can select our domain and do internships, minor and major projects, reviews, documentation, etc. This is to help students prepare for the future and gain experience. Top roles include data scientist, machine learning engineer, data analyst, AI engineer, and business analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very nice, and the outlook of the college is satisfactory. However, when it comes to faculty, I don’t think they teach well. The classrooms are okay, but there is no one to take care of them. For the library, there is a fee to go and some cards required. When it comes to facilities, drinking water is good, and there is a football court, cricket ground, and every week there is a sports period. There are also many clubs where you can introduce your ideas and participate in their programs. It’s a great platform to overcome stage fear. However, the washrooms are messy and uncomfortable. The canteen is one of the worst places, as nothing is required there and the food tastes the worst. As for medical facilities, we have a hospital inside, so there is no tension about that.
Faculty: Actually, teachers are not going to say anything. It’s a waste of time to depend on them. It's a big no because they never take care of students. Moreover, GATE classes are there, but they don’t care when they come or go—they just check IDs. The semester exams are tough, and even though it is autonomous, the pass percentage is 9.5%.
Other: The main reason for selecting this course is that its impact in the future is more. I wish to have good faculty, knowledgeable faculty with a sense of time.

    Satisfied by the infrastructure.
Placements: Our college provides great placements with a percentage of 50-80% of placements and an average annual package of 4 LPA to 8 LPA. The top course offered by our college is Computer Science and Engineering. Top companies that are recruiting include Wipro, Tech Mahindra, TCS, and others.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is good and provides a wide range of labs with full equipment, offering a great experience. Our college gives high priority to every sport that a student shows interest in and provides good equipment to the students.
Faculty: Our college provides great faculty, and the staff has a good relationship with the students, without any egos, and helps in every aspect where students need faculty help. The semester exams are not harder than we expected; there are only one or two subjects that are harder.

Hostel food is the worst. The infrastructure is good.
Placements: Over 400 placements were achieved this year, and students were initially satisfied with their placements. But, we came to know that the placements were only for call center jobs. We were disappointed after realizing the truth that the placements were not for software roles.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not excellent, but it is okay. Campus hostel infrastructure is manageable. No Wi-Fi is available. Hostel facilities are inadequate. Mess is completely disorganized, with no proper food provided. Canteen food is the worst. There is no time allocated for sports or games.
Faculty: Faculty members are okay, and many exams are conducted. Four unit tests, two mid-exams, internals, and externals are all organised to enhance students scope. Regarding exams, it is manageable because these frequent exams help students gain knowledge.
Other: Things that should be improved are that students should be given time for fests.

From study point of view it's okay but you may disappointed because of less fests and events.
Placements: Every year the intake is around 30 to 40. The highest package for civil is around 4 lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies are HCL Collabera, Dexterity, ExcelR Edutech Pvt Ltd, Amazon, Mitsogo Technology, Sutherland Solution, Rinex Technologies, etc.
Infrastructure: Laboratories: surveying laboratory, strength of materials laboratory, fluid mechanics and hydraulic machinery laboratory, environmental engineering laboratory, geotechnical engineering laboratory, concrete technology laboratory, CADD laboratory, engineering geology laboratory, etc. are there. Facilities: library, sports, transport, student activity centre, hostel, canteen, etc. are there.
Faculty: Most of our faculty are experienced and good in knowledge and they have done their M.Tech. The quality of teaching is somehow fine. Most of you think that it's difficult to pass the semester but it depends upon you. Unless you do hard work on your studies, it's easy to pass.
Other: I chose this course because civil engineering is one of the top core branches. If you are interested in this course, just step in. Most people will say that there is no future in this course, but I definitely say that this course will have a bright future, and all you need to do is work hard with consistency. There will be very few events, fests. etc.

    Absolutely dissatisfied with the college.
Placements: 90% of students were placed in our course. The highest package is 12 LPA, the lowest package is 2.5 LPA, and the average package is 4-5 LPA. Wipro , Google , Amazon and Deloitte are the top recruiting companies for our course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are so good for our course; clean class rooms and in the library, all books are available. Hostel maintains good quality of food. Hostel rooms are maintained well. Medical facilities are also good. In canteen, the items are cheap.
Faculty: Faculty is extremely good. Semester exams are so hard and the pass percentage is 55% in the 1st year. In the 2nd year, 71% is the pass percentage. In the 3rd year, 75% is the pass percentage. In the final year, 96% is the pass percentage. Semesters are based on what companies are asking.

Some good things and some bad things.
Placements: My batch is 2023 and the branch is Computer Science Engineering. The average package of the college is 5 LPA, and every student got good packages in my college. 85% of my college students got jobs. The college is very good.
Infrastructure: My college infrastructure is somewhat bad, and the college maintenance is also not good. Medical facilities are sometimes available and sometimes not, but the medicines are good. The college hostel is good, but the facilities of the hostel are not good.
Faculty: My college staff are not good; some teachers do not teach well, and the quality of education is also not good. The course curriculum is also of medium level for the students, and the semester exams are very hard for the students. It is very difficult for the students to pass the exams.
