Q:   What are the cutoff marks required for MMS?

A:

The Common Admission Test (CAT) cutoff scores for MMS at regular Indian institutions usually fall between 60% and 75%. The precise cutoffs, however, differ from institution to college and could also be influenced by the particular programme or specialisation that piques your interest.

Higher CAT scores of 90% and above are required for elite universities like IIM, FMS, and XLRI. A CAT score of 80–89% is required for tier-1 universities. A CAT score of 70–79% is required for admission to tier-2 universities. Additionally, tier-3 universities need a CAT score between 60 and 69%.

For a particular college or programme, the real cutoffs could be different. To find out the most recent information on the cutoff, it is usually advisable to visit the college's website.

Q:   Are admissions at Kohinoor Business School entrance-based or merit-based?

A:

Kohinoor Business School (KBS) accepts students on the basis of both merit and admission. Students are accepted into KBS according to how well they do on admission tests that are standardised, such the CAT, MAT, and XAT. 50% is the minimal percentile needed to be admitted to the MMS programme.

To evaluate each applicant's overall worth, KBS also takes into account their academic record, extracurricular involvement, and in-person interviews. A solid academic record, relevant extracurricular activities, and an engaging personal statement increase an applicant's chances of being accepted.

A thorough assessment of a student's likelihood for success in the MMS programme is conducted as part of the KBS admissions process. Academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and in-person interviews offer a more comprehensive picture of a student's talents than do entrance examinations, which function as a standardised gauge of a student's mathematical and analytical skills.

Q:   Can I get Kohinoor Business School, MMS with a 76 percentile in CAT?

A:

A 76 percentile on the CAT is a possibility, but it's not a guarantee of admission to Kohinoor Business School (KBS). A 76 percentile is within the normal range of the minimal CAT percentile required for admission to KBS's MMS programme, which is set at 50% to 60%. Though the candidate pool can be more or less competitive each year, if there are a lot of highly qualified applicants with higher CAT scores, a 76 percentile might not be strong enough to get in.

While making admissions selections, KBS takes into account the CAT score in addition to academic standing, extracurricular involvement, and in-person interviews. This implies that if your academic record or other characteristics are not strong enough, you may not be admitted even if your CAT score is higher than the minimal cutoff.

It is preferable to concentrate on emphasising your extracurricular activities, academic accomplishments, and any distinctive experiences that will help you separate out from the competition as a candidate.Get comfortable responding to typical interview questions and be prepared to talk about why you want to pursue an MMS degree as well as your future professional goals.Given that competition for admissions tends to increase as deadlines get closer, applying early may provide you a little advantage.
