B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2022
Offered by Narayana Engineering College (NEC, Nellore)
4.2

Really good infrastructure and facilities are good placements must be improved.
Placements: Placements are good in our college but not for core branches like civil and mechanical engineering. We are the batch of 2022 in which only 5 campus drives happened for the civil branch. I think the highest package in our college is about 10 LPA+ and the lowest is 2.2 LPA. Companies like IBM, HCL, Mindtree, Infosys, and TCS visited for placements.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is pretty decent. All types of lab facilities are available for our course. We have central AC, a big library in which all types of books are available, Wi-Fi also available, and classrooms have projectors and CC cameras. Cameras are continuously screened by faculty members. Our canteen food is delicious and hygienic. We have a football court, cricket mesh, and lots of game stuff available. The gym is also available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified and clarify all the doubts acquired by students. Teaching quality is good, but labs are not good because labs are conducted by attenders. Yes, the course is curriculum relevant. Semester exams are very tough for our branch because at the time we are studying, the college is under JNTUA, so the semester papers are set by JNTUA, which is tough. The pass percentage of our branch is 60-70%.
Other: I like interior works and am more passionate about building stuff. The best thing about our course is friendly faculty members and curriculum activities. I think placements must be improved for our course. In our college, many events, fests, and extracurricular activities are conducted.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2016

This college was good in terms of education and training but they should improve placements.
Placements: Placements are not up to the mark in our college. Around 30% of the students got placed in 2016. Some students got placed in BPOs. Placements are good for some branches like CSE, ECE. They got placed in Infosys and Tech Mahindra. In our civil branch placements are poor. The highest salary package offered in 2016 batch was 3.6 LPA. The average salary package offered was 3 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1.8 LPA.
Infrastructure: There is access for Wi-Fi only in Labs and library. Phone usage is restricted in college. Classrooms and labs are clean and well maintained. One of the best things about our college is the library with lots of books. There is a cafeteria. The food served is average. College is fully under surveillance including classrooms, labs and library. The college infrastructure is one of the best in Nellore among other colleges. There is no hostel facility provided by the college. There are good private hostels available near the college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are good and are postgraduates. Faculty members are very helpful, and you can feel free to approach at any time during college hours. Each subject has a dedicated staff to teach. The course curriculum is the same as JNTU Anantapur.
Other: I chose this course because I have much interest in civil engineering. The best things about our course are lecturers and labs. The college needs to improve in placements. About 80% of students will be passed out in their four years. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity and campus surroundings are fine.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty. The placements are good this year.
Placements: The companies like Patni, Infosys, Bosch, and Thermal Powertech visited the campus, and many students got selected. All the companies that visited the campus offered good salaries. At this college, new companies also linked to the college. Every year, above 90 percent of the students in CSE department got placed. Many peoples have placed in this year.
Infrastructure: The labs are very good. In this college, there are three blocks, and those three are Wi-Fi enabled. We have the central library facility. The medical facilities are available. In the campus, the good food is available in the canteen by Josh. There are no issues about the college infrastructure.
Faculty: All the faculty members are seniors. All of them have the minimum qualification of M.Tech. They all have good teaching skills. Their relationship is good with the students. They are experienced and highly knowledgeable. The maintenance is good. They completed the syllabus on time.

The review of the faculty, infrastructure, and placements.
Placements: The placements are good for MBA and software. However, other branch students suffer a lot for placements in 2018. In the previous batch(passed out in 2017), the students were placed in different companies, but this year, the number of recruiters decreased. Recently, Justdial and Aliens group hired some students for sales and marketing.
Infrastructure: The library is good, but the labs and classrooms are poor. The food quality in the canteen is average. Mobile phones are restricted to the college. There is no hostel for boys in college. There is a poor atmosphere in and around the college and lot of pollution. Basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, kabaddi, cricket practice net are available in the college.
Faculty: Only a few faculty members are experienced in teaching, and the others are new. The college should improve a lot in teaching category. The students are well-trained to gain marks but not knowledge. Even the college faculty members have less knowledge than students. The students get updated themselves in case of technology and also current affairs. A few awareness is created among the students by the college.

A true and genuine review of my college.
Placements: Coming to placements, our college provides us at least 4 companies in a year only for my branch, that is civil. For other branches, there are numerous placement programs. Our placement cell has experienced lecturers even some MNCs like TCS and Infosys also conduct drives in our college. The highest salary offered will be around 5 lakhs per annum, and the least will be 2 lakhs per annum. Around 70 percent of students got internships from my college. The average stipend is around Rs. 6000. The maximum students are appointed in companies as graduate trainees. For civil, we got companies like Shapoorji Pallonji, Larsen and Turbo, Tata projects this year, 2017.
Infrastructure: Narayana college is having a good infrastructure. The labs are fully equipped with the new and updated machinery. The classrooms are equipped with good benches, and the board quality is good. The classrooms are big. There will be good air flow as our college is constructed on the outskirts of the city. Our college is fully furnished. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The hostel food is of average quality, and the canteen is good. Overall, it's above average in infrastructure.
Faculty: There are some experienced faculty, and most of the faculty are freshers. So, don't expect more when coming to faculty, but they will help us in studies. They will be friendly with us, and they will clarify doubts even after class hours. However, I am not much satisfied with my faculty members especially for civil there are inexperienced faculty for other branches it is fine, there are experienced faculty. It has average faculty overall.
