NIT Jalandhar has been ranked 46 among the top Engineering Institutes in India by NIRF 2023. NIT Jalandhar offers a four-year B.Tech course. This course is offered across 11 specialisations. Admission to BTech at NIT Jalandhar is entrance-based. Students need to qualify for a national-level entrance exam, I. e. JEE Main followed by JoSAA Counselling. This exam is conducted by the NTA every year in two sessions. Further, the seats that remain unfilled in JoSAA such seats are filled with CSAB Counselling. To get admission to this course, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria and qualify for the respective entrance exam. As per the placement drive 2023, the average package offered to BTech graduates is INR 12.44 LPA. About 701 students were placed during the NITJ placement 2022-23 and 49 job offers were offered above INR 25 LPA.

After CSAB counselling registration, the exam authority will start the choice filling process at the official website. Successfully registered candidates must complete CSAB counselling choice filling and locking with preferred course and college choices. Environment is good. Seniors are always friendly. No ragging. Ragging is prohibited strictly. Punjabi food is nice. So, obviously mess food is average. Various events. There are various clubs like LADS, MADS etc. For co-curricular activities. You will get exposure to brilliant minds (I am talking about seniors and not faculty). Placements for all branches are good. If you are in top 10% of your branch, than there are more opportunities. Training and placement cell works in a better way. Its not cumbersome to get NOCs, training letters. They always give their best to increase placement records. Campus's greenery is beneficial. Campus is clean most of the times. Technical and cultural events Techniti and Utkansh attracts 3040 colleges every year and you get more exposure. You will get exposure to various international conferences, workshops. New short term courses are launched under GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Networks) initiative of MHRD which can be attended by students as well as faculty members. Infrastructure is improving a lot. New lectures theatres are built. New department buildings are in process of building.

To fill the remaining seats of NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. There are some special rounds after JoSAA counselling conducted by CSAB in which students can get a good college and branch even with poor rank. For Example MNNIT Allahabad had closing rank 2751 for CSE for General in JoSAA last round. But in CSAB round closing rank was 4761 for the same.
