NIRF 2024 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2024 rankings, NIT Patna ranks #55 under the category 'Engineering'.

The JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam for NIT Patna to BE/BTech courses is scheduled to be held between Jan 22 and Jan 29, 2025. For BArch and BPlan courses, the exam is to be conducted on Jan 30, 2025.

The IIT JAM 2025 admit cards are now available for admission to the MSc course. Registered candidates can log in and download their hall tickets by visiting the official website. The IIT JAM 2025 exam is scheduled for Feb 2, 2025.
The GATE 2025 admit cards have been released for admission to the MTech course. Registered candidates can log in and download their admit cards from the official website. The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
The CAT 2024 result has been declared for admission to the MBA/PGDM courses. Candidates can log in and download their scorecards on the official website.
The NIMCET 2025 application form for admission to the MCA course will be released tentatively in Mar 2025. The NIMCET 2025 exam dates will be announced soon.

National Institute of Technology Patna (NIT Patna) is an esteemed Engineering institute in the country. The institute has secured ranks from various national and international bodies. NIT Patna is the 6th Oldest Engineering Institute in India and ranked '56' position in NIRF 2023. Additionally, the institute is ranked by several international ranking bodies. NIT Patna Architecture is ranked 23rd out of 30 colleges in India by IIRF.

The National Institute of Technology Patna (NIT Patna) was established in 2004 by the Ministry of H.R.D. Government of India. NIT Patna provides undergraduate (BTech, BArch), postgraduate (MTech, MSc), and PhD programmes through its experienced faculty well versed in their respective field of engineering and technology with well-equipped laboratories. NIT Patna signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Handong Global University, Pohang, South Korea for the exchange of students, faculty and research.

The institute's BTech in the CSE branch and BArch degrees are its two most popular course offerings. JEE Main exam scores and NATA scores, respectively, are used to determine admission to these programmes. During ongoing NIT Patna Placements 2023, the highest package stood at INR 52 LPA whereas the average package stood at INR 14 LPA. The cutoff trend for BTech CSE at NIT Patna has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank under the General category for all India quota was 15871. In 2022, it decreased to 14638. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 22266 to 21654 for OBC, 79063 to 56352 for SC, 1884 to 70929 for ST, 18577 to 18303 for EWS, 415 to 292 for PWD. NIT Patna admission is conducted through online registrations. Interested candidates can visit the official website and fill out the application form before the last date. Admission to BTech is based on on various national-level entrance exams, and admission to MTech is based on GATE scores, followed by PI and COAP rounds.

NIT Patna admission process includes the application process, selection round, cutoff, merit list, and counselling. The step-wise admission process is given below:

Step 1: NIT Patna Application Process

Candidates seeking admission at NIT Patna are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. For example, for BTech, candidates are required to apply for JEE Main.

Step 2: Selection Rounds

NIT Patna admits students to BTech courses based on JEE Main scores. Candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech. Admission to MTech is through GATE followed by COAP Counselling. Candidates can check with the admission office for the selection rounds of the rest of the courses.

Step 3: Release of Cutoff list, Counselling & Admission Confirmation

The cutoff for BTech, MTech and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies. For merit-based courses, NIT Patna will release the course-wise merit list on its official website.
