Post Graduate Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering - Batch of 2020
4.8
5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
The college has very good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 88% of the students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 8.5 LPA, the average salary package offered is 4.5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Top recruitment companies are Adani Power, Vedanta Power, Torrent Power, RE Power, Tata Power and many others. All placed students got an internship. The top role offered is an executive trainee.
Infrastructure: Our college offers post-graduation diploma course in Power Plant and renewable energy. In our college, there are lots of facilities like air-conditioned classrooms, air-conditioned mess, labs and the library. Quality of food is good. Menu of food can be changed according to students.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. The course is highly relevant, and I recommend this course to all. It makes students industry-ready. All the teachers are from Power Plants. It offers industrial visits to many power plants.
Other: I have chosen this course because my father recommended this to me. The best thing about this course is it provides basic and necessary knowledge about the course. Everything about this college is good in every manner. Time to time seminars and conferences are held in our college.

A very below average college. Don't opt for it. It was a very big mistake to join this college.
Placements: 1. Only 7 students were placed in my batch. 2. The highest package offered 7.85 LPA, the lowest package 4 LPA. 3. Adani Power, Genpact are the top roles offered. 4. 3 students got internship in Worldref ltd. 5. Expertise in Power Plant specialising in Thermal. Some mechanical engineering subjects are in course so students can go for mechanical branch too.
Infrastructure: 1. No Wi-Fi, No labs, classrooms are in good condition, library has good collection of books. 2. There were no facilities for sports and games, mess food is average, no canteen, no medical facilities. The mess food is regularly available but the variation in food is not there.
Faculty: 1. None of the teachers are helpful, not very qualified, some are knowledgeable but don't know how to teach. 2. The students have to study on their own to get industry knowledge. If you want to study then you have to do hardwork because this college won't give anything to students except for degree.
Other: 1. I chose this because it was relevant to mechanical engineering. Best thing is that attendance doesn't matter, you can easily prepare for exams at home. 2. Lab facilities are good. 3. No activities at all .

NPTI Delhi the base of thermal power sector.
Placements: Placements are decent about two third of the students last year got placed in companies like torrent power, adani power, tata power, but this year placement is not that good about 6-10 students have been placed till now and only one semester id remaining.
Infrastructure: The college campus is not that big as there is only one single batch of 70 students in power engineering but the facilities are enough for the students, there is a hostel nearby having proper arrangements. Wi-Fi, library, mess are also present inside the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are not that good and they come to classes rarely. Being a government institute the staff is lazy and the student has to do most of the work on their own there. The curriculum is very much focused on the power plant sector that is power generation transmission and distribution.

National Power Training Institute, Badarpur.
Placements: The batch size was 70+ and the course is B.Tech in Power Engineering during which in the 3rd semester we had an option to choose mechanical or electrical. About 40% of the students were placed. The highest package was 8 LPA (CTC) and the lowest was 3 LPA, thus making the average around 4 LPA. The top recruiting firms were Vedanta, TATA Power etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities were adequate for a student yo get good amount of knowledge, classroom were normal Library was good, Labs were good too. The faculty was good and supportive, rest of the facilities were okay. Canteen was there in NTPC TPP premises, there was a hospital just adjacent to the campus.
Faculty: Yes the teachers were helpful and had good amount of teaching experience. The quality of teaching was okay. Yes the course was curriculum relevant and being a professional course, the students became industry ready after the completion of the course.

Much better options available out there. Do not recommend until some fundamental changes are made.
Placements: Placements are really bad. At least 30 to 40 percent of the batch was unplaced. The highest CTC would be around 7.5-8 LPA, average would be somewhere around 3.5-4 LPA and the lowest CTC would be 3 LPA. Secure Meters, Vedanta and a few other power generation and T&D companies visited.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are functional with no air conditioning. Wi-Fi and internet services are okay. Labs need a lot of face lifting. A lot of broken/non functioning equipment. No in house canteen. Hostels are twin sharing and non a/c. Maintenance certainly needs to be better. Overall, more investment is definitely needed in infrastructure.
Faculty: A few good faculty is obviously there. However, overall, the quality can and should be much higher. College relies too much on guest faculty. It's a small batch, and student to faculty ratio stands at about 30 to 1. In-plant training at a power plant simulator for 15 days in Chhattisgarh was a good learning experience. Course curriculum is fine.

The college is very good and has a good learning environment.
Placements: The placement scenario in college is very good. I got placed in Vedanta Ltd. Our class has 54 students, out of which, 36 students got placed. Adani Power, GVK Power, Tata Power, etc., are the companies that visited for campus drives. Mahinder sir is our placement coordinator. We are pursuing thermal power training in this college.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good infrastructure. A library is available for students, and there is also a gym for students to maintain their fitness. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Food is provided in the mess. There are computer labs, and a conference room is also available. There are good facilities in the classrooms, and medical facilities are also provided for students. Wi-Fi facility is available, and sports equipment is provided to girls and boys. There is no canteen inside the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative. NTPC faculty members are available to teach thermal power plant engineering. Around 5 to 6 faculty members are provided to teach thermal engineering, who are currently working in NTPC. Plant visits are also available for students. There is a very good learning environment in the college.
