A very below average college. Don't opt for it. It was a very big mistake to join this college.
Placements: 1. Only 7 students were placed in my batch. 2. The highest package offered 7.85 LPA, the lowest package 4 LPA. 3. Adani Power, Genpact are the top roles offered. 4. 3 students got internship in Worldref ltd. 5. Expertise in Power Plant specialising in Thermal. Some mechanical engineering subjects are in course so students can go for mechanical branch too.
Infrastructure: 1. No Wi-Fi, No labs, classrooms are in good condition, library has good collection of books. 2. There were no facilities for sports and games, mess food is average, no canteen, no medical facilities. The mess food is regularly available but the variation in food is not there.
Faculty: 1. None of the teachers are helpful, not very qualified, some are knowledgeable but don't know how to teach. 2. The students have to study on their own to get industry knowledge. If you want to study then you have to do hardwork because this college won't give anything to students except for degree.
Other: 1. I chose this because it was relevant to mechanical engineering. Best thing is that attendance doesn't matter, you can easily prepare for exams at home. 2. Lab facilities are good. 3. No activities at all .

NPTI Delhi the base of thermal power sector.
Placements: Placements are decent about two third of the students last year got placed in companies like torrent power, adani power, tata power, but this year placement is not that good about 6-10 students have been placed till now and only one semester id remaining.
Infrastructure: The college campus is not that big as there is only one single batch of 70 students in power engineering but the facilities are enough for the students, there is a hostel nearby having proper arrangements. Wi-Fi, library, mess are also present inside the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are not that good and they come to classes rarely. Being a government institute the staff is lazy and the student has to do most of the work on their own there. The curriculum is very much focused on the power plant sector that is power generation transmission and distribution.

National Power Training Institute, Badarpur.
Placements: The batch size was 70+ and the course is B.Tech in Power Engineering during which in the 3rd semester we had an option to choose mechanical or electrical. About 40% of the students were placed. The highest package was 8 LPA (CTC) and the lowest was 3 LPA, thus making the average around 4 LPA. The top recruiting firms were Vedanta, TATA Power etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities were adequate for a student yo get good amount of knowledge, classroom were normal Library was good, Labs were good too. The faculty was good and supportive, rest of the facilities were okay. Canteen was there in NTPC TPP premises, there was a hospital just adjacent to the campus.
Faculty: Yes the teachers were helpful and had good amount of teaching experience. The quality of teaching was okay. Yes the course was curriculum relevant and being a professional course, the students became industry ready after the completion of the course.

Much better options available out there. Do not recommend until some fundamental changes are made.
Placements: Placements are really bad. At least 30 to 40 percent of the batch was unplaced. The highest CTC would be around 7.5-8 LPA, average would be somewhere around 3.5-4 LPA and the lowest CTC would be 3 LPA. Secure Meters, Vedanta and a few other power generation and T&D companies visited.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are functional with no air conditioning. Wi-Fi and internet services are okay. Labs need a lot of face lifting. A lot of broken/non functioning equipment. No in house canteen. Hostels are twin sharing and non a/c. Maintenance certainly needs to be better. Overall, more investment is definitely needed in infrastructure.
Faculty: A few good faculty is obviously there. However, overall, the quality can and should be much higher. College relies too much on guest faculty. It's a small batch, and student to faculty ratio stands at about 30 to 1. In-plant training at a power plant simulator for 15 days in Chhattisgarh was a good learning experience. Course curriculum is fine.

A great place to get in-depth knowledge about power plants.
Placements: Placements in the college for our batch were good. Reputed companies like Vedanta, CLP, and Hindalco, etc., visited the campus for final placements. They offered different roles like JE in operations and maintenance departments, etc. We had weekly power plant visits which helped us in gaining practical experience about the operations in a power plant. We also had winter training for a month in the power plant which helped us to gain knowledge about the power plant industry.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is more than enough for the students of the power engineering department. Classrooms were equipped with AC and projector. There was a playground for students to play different outdoor sports. There was a recreation club which included sports facilities like badminton court, table tennis, and carrom board, etc.
Faculty: Professors who taught us were highly experienced people from the power industry. We had guest lectures by prominent personalities from the industry to guide us. Their experience in the plant helped us to clear our doubts and learn more. Overall, it was a nice curriculum to gain in-depth knowledge about the power industry.
Other: We had an annual cultural and tech fest. The fest is completely organised by the students. Also, festivals are celebrated in our college.
