NIT Meghalaya Reviews on Placements, Faculty & Facilities ,Shillong

Placements: Up to now, it has been good. The senior batch also had good placements. Around 60% of the batch have been placed. Highest package-9.78 lpa. Lowest package-1.75 lpa. Average package-4.75 lpa. Following companies considered us for placements: Microsoft, SAP Labs, Huawei, Persistent Systems, Virtusa Polaris, Capgemini, Sapient nitro, IBM, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Robert Bosch, Cummins India, L&T construction, SKF INDIA, Mphasis, Power grid Corporation of India limited, Amazon India, Havells, ...

Placements: The placements are pretty good. The first batch passed out in the year 2014. At that time, placements were not that good. The highest package, which was offered by Power Grid, was 11 LPA. In the subsequent year, many reputed IT companies came which included Tech Mahindra, IBM and Infosys along with core companies like Nokia, L&T ECC and Vodafone. Last year, along with the above-mentioned companies, other companies like Huawei, Virtusa Polaris, ThoughtWorks, GE Digital and Robert Bosch also came....

Placements: The placement for our batch has been good so far. A total of 60% of eligible students has already been placed. The highest salary offered till now has been 9.78 LPA by Microsoft and the lowest package of 3.2 LPA was offered by Tech Mahindra. We also had placements by Robert BOSCH, SKF India, Cummins India, L&T among other companies visiting our campus. Placements: Placements are quite good even after a remote location and age of the institute. In the year 2016, the average placement was 7.76 LPA and in our year, 2017, till now, the average package is 6.7 LPA. Many core companies visit the campus like Microsoft in 2017, Bosch, L&T, Lava, Vodafone, Juspay, DirectI, Capgemini and PSUs like Powergrid.

Placements: Overall, placement of this college is very good. Approx more than 90% of eligible (greater than 6 CGPA) candidates get placed every year. There are a lot of companies visiting for placements. Some of them are Powergrid, Microsoft, Indian Army, Indian Navy, General electric, Robert Bosch, Vodafone, Mu sigma, Virtuosa, Polaris, Thoughtworks, IBM, Infosys, Mphasis etc. The highest package was offered by GE (13 LPA) and the average package is 3.6 LPA.

I was happy as our Mentor was SVNIT as my college was among 10 new NIT's and there was no campus for our college. So we were transferred to SVNIT Surat. We spend 5 semesters there. We enjoyed a lot in SVNIT. In 6th Semester we were transferred to Shillong were government has taken a small Campus for our college. NIT Meghalaya is one of the new NITs set up by the MHRD. As such, the college is still in its infancy and not up to all the standards one would see in the older, more established NITs. However, the facilities which are present are sufficient for all academic purposes. Placements: Placements are very good. Many top recruiting companies visit our college for recruitment. Training and placement cell is very good for interviews. Internships are also offered in this course. The highest salary package offered was 52 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 40 LPA.

Placements: In 2022 students placed were more than 80% Students got jobs in Amazon, google, Microsoft, Samsung, Alstom, Vedanta, Suzuki etc. Many Students got in Public Sector Undertakings (POSOCO GRID INDIA) with good Salaries. Number of Compananies came for recruitment were more than 80.

Placements: The college is seriously amazing and provides extreme oppurtunities.90% students were placed from my batch.15 students got their dream placement.Thr highest package was 45 lakhs , average was 9 lakhs and the lowest was 5 lakhs.Google, Samsung, infosys were top recruiters.Almost 80% students got internship in companies like HCL, infosys ,etc.Branch Manager, team leader etc were some top level roles offered during placements.

Placements: Placements in our college are comparatively high than other North East NITs. In the civil branch, placements are good. The highest salary package of 7 LPA and the lowest salary package of 2 LPA were offered in our college. Many reputed companies visited here. Maybe 40% of the students are eligible for internships from our college.

Placements: Placements were good for mechanical engineering this year. Companies like Vedanta, Tata lower, Power Grid, L&T, etc., visited the campus. About more than 50 companies have visited VIT. The average salary package offered was of 5.5 LPA. I hope it will be even better in the next year.
