Connectivity problem but otherwise, absolutely a good option

Placements: Placements in NIT Srinagar are quite good. The placement percentage in CSE and IT is 100% at an average package of 5-6 lacs. In other branches also, there are maximum students getting placed. IBM, Samsung, Infosys, L&T, etc companies visited the campus. In 2014, the highest package was 72 lacs by Epic System for CSE. For mechanical, the highest package was around 13-14 lacs. Internship opportunities are totally on your own, as different than other colleges, here in NIT Srinagar, there is a winte...

Perfect atmosphere to study and live in

Placements: To be honest, placements in NIT Srinagar is very poor. For chemical engineering, it is very poor. Though some IT companies do visit, they offer a very low package and allow all the candidates to sit. Getting the internship in chemical engineering is easy. You could easily get internships in ONGC, SAIL, JSW and Tata Steel. Many students from chemical engineering opt for higher studies.

You can choose NIT SXR also in your options

Placements: Very low. Almost 25 to 34 students get it only in IT firms and most of the companies take students from computer science, IT and electronics student. Electrical engineering is also eligible in most of the companies but core like ABB and Tata Motors also visit here. HCl, Capgemini, Mu Sigma, Infosys, L&T group, etc. are the usual visitors.

Really good studies, but overall, less placements.

Placements: The placements of this college are somehow average. Metallurgy branch doesn't get good placements. The students of this branch usually prepare for GATE. The curriculum is good but doesn't help in placements. The placements of mechanical and CS/IT branches are good and can be appreciated. Other branches like electrical, civil, etc. have average placements. 50% of the batch gets placed. The highest package is around 8-9 lpa and the lowest is 4 lpa

This college is a good choice for mechanical engineering

Placements: The placements of this college are average. The maximum package is around 8 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. The placements of the mechanical branch are far better than others in terms of the package. The average package in mechanical is 6-7 LPA. Branches like metallurgy and civil have very low placements. Sometimes, the overall placements are good, and sometimes they are not. The placements were also affected due to the protest and flood situations.

Naturally beautiful and very good for your future.

Placements: Our senior batch was almost 90% placed. But due to the floods, very few companies arrived at our campus in 2015. Most of the companies which came were from computer science background. No core companies for civil and mechanical engineering. Not a single PSU in 2015 whereas the earlier batch was placed much better than us in PSUs such as IOCL and NTPC. 60% students got placed from our batch. The average salary was a mere 4 lakhs per annum. The highest was 8 lakhs and the minimum was 2.75 lakhs. ...

Satisfied with faculty. Placements are not good. Infrastructure is very good.

Placements: Placements are not many in civil engineering. Only 5 students got placed last year. Recruiters were Afcons Infra. Ltd., Infosys, and Avantika group. The highest package offered was 5 LPA. Last year, four students from each branch were selected as the Campus Recruitment Coordinators who contacted recruiters for campus visit. 100% internships at Airport Authority of India, CPWD, etc.

Satisfied moderately with the college. Think of your branch before selecting the college

Placements: The placements of the college were above average. There were good placements in some branches, while some branches couldn't make it that accounted for which college got an average placement. Mechanical engineering: The placement was good. Almost 60-70% of batch got placed. The highest package offered was 13 LPA and lowest was around 5 LPA. Prominent companies which visited are IOCL, HPCL, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Vedanta, Polaris, Mu Sigma, etc. Electrical engineering: The placement was not ...

NIT Srinagar- a place to study well and enjoy the beauty of nature as well.

Placements: The placement ratio in every stream is good, especially in the mechanical stream. All the senior batches till now have seen a very good placement ratio. Around 70-80% placements took place (the percentage would have been much better but due to backlogs of the students, the ratio suffers quite a lot). A senior (2 year senior than me) was placed with a package of around Rs. 22 lakhs pa in some company and he was from the mechanical branch.

Take a tour of NIT Srinagar

Placements: The placement scenario is very good in NIT Srinagar. For final-year students, every week, one company is confirmed for the hiring process and all CS, IT, EE and ECE branch student are placed at the end of the semester. But other branches like civil, metallurgy and chemical engineering students have to struggle for placements and after that, some of them also are placed. The highest package offered is 72 lakhs (off-campus) and the average package is about 5 lakhs. From here, you can also apply fo...

NIT Srinagar is a great college for mechanical engineering.

Placements: The average package is like 4-5 lakhs but can go as high as 17 lakhs. The highest package is 72 lakh from CSE. Most of the branches get 100 percent placements. Most of the MNCs like Maruti Suzuki visit the campus. You might have to do little over the edge things for getting better placements than others and get extra skills.

Placements: The placement is quite satisfactory- some PSUs also visited the last time viz. ONGC, Power Grid, etc. (for core branches). The highest package till now is Rs. 72 lacs PA given to a CSE student 2 years back. This time, some of the students got placed in more than two companies, one PSU included. In core branches, the highest package till now is Rs. 18 lacs PA given to 10-15 students of mechanical and electrical branches. The average package is around Rs. 4-5 lacs. I am satisfied here but not fully because of insufficient facilities.

Placements: Here, placements of mechanical, computer science, electronics and communication, information technology are good but for other branches, it is below the average. Average placement is about 5 lakh per annum. Placement percentage of the above-mentioned branches is about 80%.

Placements: In 7th Semester, 15 to 18 students out of 59 students received the placement offers from the various core and IT companies like Vedanta, Mahindra, Mu-Sigma, Infosys, Wipro and IBM. Next semester, we are hoping that more and more companies will visit the campus. Highest salary offered up to now is 8.7 LPA, and the minimum salary offered is 3.9 LPA. The average salary offered is 5.7 LPA. Approximately, 40% to 46% students were placed every year form this branch. From college, the maximum number of...

Remote location, spectacular views, amazing moments and yet an engineering degree.

Placements: Placement in CS branch is probably the best in the college. In 2014 a student bagged 72 lpa on campus placement in the US. Companies related to IT and CS visit unlike other branches where companies visiting are few.

I am very much satisfied with the placements.

Placements: Here, in this college, placements depends upon which branch you possess as for CS, IT and ECE branches, placements were 70-80% while in the rest of the branches, we had average placements around 40-50%. The maximum package offered was rupees 6-7 LPA and the minimum was 3-4 LPA per annum. Finally, in my batch, there were 70% placements.

Satisfied with the college.

Placements: The placement percentage varied with the specialization. It was 100% for computer science and varied from 80-100% for streams altogether. Many Indian companies offered recruitment in the college for different specializations as mining companies, IT based companies and others. Internships are not offered by the college, it is an individual's part to go for training and internships.

A good college to learn and enjoy.

Placements: Placements here are good enough. It is roughly 80% here but the average package is nearly 3.5 LPA which is not much better but a student from here got package of 72 LPA in 2015. The main companies which recruits the students from here are Infosys, HPCL, TCS, Wipro, Samsung, etc. The roles offered by the companies are mainly in technical sector. Almost, 70% students got internships from the college.
