The placement scenario is good if you are joining branches like CS/IT, but core branches like civil and mechanical had fewer opportunities.

After you visit the college campus and hostel once, you will love this university.
Placements: As we all know, this is the top government college in Odisha after IIT and NIT for engineering. The placement rate of this university in all branches is going well but in the IT sector, the students having branches like computer science and engineering, computer science and engineering (artificial intelligence and machine learning), information and technology, computer engineering, etc., have more chance to get placed in comparison to other branches, like 90 percent of these branch students are placed and among core branches like mechanical and civil, 75 to 80 percent of students get placement on campus.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and the entire college campus are very neat and clean. There is a very good Wi-Fi network of about 5 MB per second on the entire college campus so you can use it after registration to take the Wi-Fi password. It is free of cost. The hostel and the routine of the hostel were very good.
Faculty: The teachers of the university are very good in all fields, like teaching, understanding, explaining the topic thoroughly and taking doubt clear classes, especially for those students having doubt in that particular subject. The teachers are more and more knowledgeable; they really want to help all the students as their children for their future.
Other: I recommend this college only for engineering.

The College is Overall Good.
Placements: The placement is good in our college and many companies come for recruitment. The average package in our college is 15 Lacs per annum and the highest package is 45 Lacs per annum. The top recruiters are Maruti, TCS, Wipro, Mahindra, Infosys.
Infrastructure: The course is good. The campus is fully equipped with Wi-Fi. The labs are not so much good but they are well-equipped. The classrooms have whiteboards, not smart boards. The college has a good library full of books of different types. We can issue the books for at least 15 days.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is very good and very helpful. They help us in each and every situation. The exams are conducted 2 times per semester and 4 times per year. The exam papers are not so hard and are easy to clear if you read properly. The course structure is designed according to UGC.
Other: There are two fests conducted in our college. The tech fest known as Perception and the annual fest known as Xtasy. Lots of faculty and students come to see them. The fests are sponsored by large companies such as Realme.

It's an average college and it doesn't charge much.
Placements: Placements are not very lucrative, but you could get a good company like Deloitte, L&T, Tata, Maruti Suzuki, etc. Obviously, you need to work on both academic and skill development. The average package is 6.7 LPA. And CSE is most preferred if you are a placement-oriented guy.
Infrastructure: College has centralized Wi-Fi with a good network. But the infrastructure is not up to the mark. The walls need to be painted, and buildings need to be relooked. The hostel is not enough to keep all the college students. If you got something called low rank, you'll not get a hostel in college.
Faculty: Faculty is strict. The mid-sems, end-sems, and practical record are all checked very strictly, that too within the due date. The curriculum is hectic for sure in an engineering college. Being in 1st year, you could get help from seniors. Seniors are of good nature. Hope it helps you.
Other: Clubs do conduct fests and all. And the college being in the city is still away from the crowd in a jungle.

College is very good in teaching and placement except funding towards infrastructure and sports.
Placements: It's the college known for giving the best placement offers in Odisha to companies like IBM, CISCO, Accenture, TCS, etc. comes to this college, and 90% of students get placed every year, and the highest package of this year is 17.5 Lacs, and the average package is 6.06 Lacs per annum. TCS is the top recruiting company.
Infrastructure: There are 5 hostels. For first-year boys, there is a hostel outside of campus known as H4, and for girls, there are 2 hostels, KHR and KCHR, and for 2nd-year and senior boys, there are 2 hostels known as RHR and APJ. For roomwise, APJ is the best, and for mess and food wise, RHR is the best, so choose according and register for hostels through the college website OUTR. Nic. In. There are 3 grounds, and in each round there is a location of hostels for students and a preference given to students having a good rank in JEE Main.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in the provision of notes, and they are very experienced. The course is also curriculum-relevant, which enhances skills among the students. Semester exams are easy to moderate in this college, where the pass percentage is 80%-85%.
Other: I chose this course due to the increasing demand for computer science technology in modern life. Yes, campus life is good, and there are many clubs like Zairza, ROBOCET, etc. And the tech fest known as Perception is held in November, the cultural fest known as Xtasy is held in between March and April, and the Engineers Cup is organized from February to March.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of no development in infrastructure and college. And all are good.
Placements: It's the college known for giving the best placement offers in Odisha, and companies like IBM, CISCO, Accenture, TCS, etc., come to this college. 90% of students get placed every year, and the highest package of this year is 17.5 Lacs, with the average package being 6.06 Lacs per annum. This year, the top recruiting companies are TCS and CISCO, and the maximum number of students got internships, which are provided by the college itself.
Infrastructure: There are 5 hostels. For first-year boys, there is a hostel outside of campus known as H4, and for girls, there are 2 hostels: KHR and KCHR. For second-year and senior boys, there are 2 hostels known as RHR and APJ. For room-wise, APJ is the best, and for mess and food-wise, RHR is the best, so choose accordingly. Registration for hostel is through the college website CET.nic.in. There are 3 grounds, and in each round, there is a location of hostels for students, with preference given to students having a good rank in JEE Main.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are really helpful, qualified, and professional as well. The teaching quality is also very good, and now, observing today’s demand, this course makes students ready in every sense. There are 2 mid-semester exams and 2 semesters in an academic year. Exams are well conducted, the questions are well-organized, and the pass percentage is above 85% every year.
Other: This college is the best college in Odisha and provides good quality education and facilities in each field, so I chose this college. There is no group discussion, interviews, or written tests for this, and it’s only through OJEE counselling. Yes, campus life is good, and there are many clubs like Zairza, ROBOCET, etc. The tech fest, known as Perception, is held in November, and the cultural fest, known as Xtasy, is held between March and April. The Engineers Cup is organized from February to March, every year.

Average faculty in our college.
Placements: The placements are really average. The companies that mostly hire from our college are TCS, Accenture, Wipro, and Infosys, and some top students get hired by Microsoft, Google, or Amazon-like companies. The percentage placed is around 80% and the average package is around 8–9 LPA for them, and for CSE students in core branches, it is as low as 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course is average; there are Wi-Fi facilities, but you can access only study-related things in it—no games, no recreational things—which is a bad thing according to me. The classes of IT and CSE are not equipped with AC but slowly they are making the classes AC. For example, in 2024, civil classes will be equipped with AC.
Faculty: The faculty members of our college are really average in teaching as they adopt a very old way of teaching and also the technology they teach is not up to date so you need to be updating yourself from outside sources. The exams are held every 6 months and they have a strict attendance policy of 75% to attend the exams.

Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get CET BBSR, B.Tech with 88% in JEE Main?

A:

If your JEE Main percentile score is around 88%, your rank would be between 1,20,000 and 1,80,000. This rank may not be sufficient to secure a seat in the top NITs or IIITs, but you can still consider applying to reputed private engineering colleges that accept a percentile score within this range.

For the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar (CET BBSR), the cut-off is the closing ranks of JEE Main. The exact cut-off can vary from year to year. As per the admission criteria of the institute, only candidates who meet the CET BBSR cut-off are eligible for admission to undergraduate courses.
