Q:   Can I get into Ramjas College without CUET?

A:

No, Ramjas College admission to all the courses, i.e., undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, is entrance-based. While this DU-affiliated college accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, such as BSc, BA and BCom admission to all the postgraduate courses is subject to the CUET- PG exam starting admission 2023. Ramjas College along with DU started accepting CUET UG starting 2022 and the CUET PG from 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to undergraduate was based on merit in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU.

Q:   Is Ramjas College good for Certificate?

A:
{Source: Certificate students & alumni}

Based on the feedback provided by students and alumni, here's what we found:

* Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, with large classrooms, a big ground, a canteen, a library, and a medical room. However, the Wi-Fi facility is limited.
* Teaching: Teachers are helpful and supportive, with good teaching skills and qualifications. They use different techniques to engage students and communicate effectively.
* Course Curriculum: The curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. It covers the basics of Japanese, including Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.
* Placements: While there may be limitations for Diploma holders, around 55-60% of students get placed, and the highest salary package offered is INR4.5 LPA.
* Certificate Course: As a certificate course, no package is offered, and students need to further study and obtain a Diploma for job prospects. However, students can pursue careers in French translation companies, guiding services, or teaching.

Overall, while Ramjas College has its strengths and weaknesses, it appears to be a decent option for those pursuing a certificate course in French. However, students must be aware of the limitations and plan accordingly for their career goals.

* Good infrastructure, including Wi-Fi enabled campus, well-equipped labs, and modern classrooms.
* Knowledgeable and helpful faculty, with many being experts in their fields.
* Curriculum relevance to future studies and research opportunities.
* Affordable fees, making it a viable option for many students.
* Vibrant campus culture with events, festivals, and sports facilities.

* Placements vary across courses, with few students securing direct placements in their field of study.
* Intermittent internet connectivity issues.
* Some faculty members' lack of engagement and unhelpfulness.
* Limited scholarship opportunities.
* Unclear and unrealistic expectations regarding career prospects.

Placement Situation:

* Placement rates vary across courses, with few students securing direct placements in their field of study.
* Internships are available, but mostly unrelated to the course.
* Average packages are relatively low, ranging from INR2-INR7 Lacs per annum.
* Few companies recruit directly from the college, with most opting for higher education.

Overall:

While Ramjas College has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and faculty expertise, the placement situation is a concern. The college is otherwise good, but there is a need for more hostel rooms.
Placements: Ramjas College is highly regarded for students pursuing humanities and commerce. They offer strong courses and excellent faculty. Top roles offered include manager, HR, and chief executive officer. I am very impressed with the college and would recommend it to everyone.
Infrastructure: My course includes a specific library for history honours students and a common room for girls. We have very good faculty members who are intellectual and lenient regarding the course. A magazine published by students is also available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, assisting with doubts, tests, and assignments. All faculty members are highly qualified and have experience at institutions like Oxford University. The exams are manageable if you have prepared well.
Other: I chose this subject because of my keen interest in history and am eager to explore more. The events organized are great.

The hostel facilities are affordable and a better option for a stay.
Placements: Generally, there are fewer placements in our course, and the student generally do not participate in the placement procedure. Most students opts out for Higher education at national and international universities. But there is a placement cell at the college, openly providing placement drives and internship opportunities to students across the college. Most of the companies participating in the placements are EY, Nestled, Accenture, etc. The average package offered is around 3 to 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is satisfactory; the college has well-equipped labs, a library, and lawns. The college also offers sports opportunities to its students, as it has a huge sports complex on the playground. The college also provides free gym facilities. There is a medical room to assist students. The library is one of the most helpful places in the college, holding a number of books, reference materials, and access to online journals and websites. It is air-conditioned. The college canteen is average, since there are few food options available.
Faculty: The faculty is cooperative and incorporating. The faculty ensures that the student feels included and celebrated. The faculty is well qualified and provides beyond-the-classroom learning experiences to the students. The course curriculum is well defined and well planned; however, it sometimes becomes tedious to manage. The semester exams are stressful but moderately prepared. The pass percentage is around 90 percent, with multiple chances offered to students to pass the exams.
Other: The hostel of the college is a nice option for the students to stay at affordable prices on campus. It is safe for girl students, and all measures and rules are followed by the authorities.

Good campus experience and cooperative faculty.
Placements: Placements at Ramjas College did not reach their full potential, due to which there are limited placements provided to the students. There is a lack of information and communication in the placement cell. No good companies providing good packages are involved in this cell.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the college gives off vintage vibes and it's aesthetics gave my college life a beautiful experience. The washrooms need more work to be done. But there are multiple lawns, which provide greenery on the campus. Though I didn't live in the hostel, I heard from my friends that the rooms were well ventilated and the services provided were convenient.
Faculty: The faculty for our course is famous throughout the North Campus, and the professors are very helpful in nature. They provided us with all the booklists and gave not only academic but non-academic support to the students. We had a very appropriate curriculum covering complete Indian history and world history and it was very intriguing. Exams were very well conducted with proper discipline and convenience. The continuous supply of water to the students was made sure of. 75 percent attendance was compulsory to sit for exams.
Other: My batch was very diverse; there were people from throughout India; they were all jolly people. I got to know different cultures and different states. We also had specific programs, for example, North Eastern events where North Eastern students portrayed their culture through dance and singing performances.

Good for a vibrant campus life and further education opportunities.
Placements: As we all know the true state of placements in arts courses at the undergraduate level, Ramjas College is no different, and it has a below-par record for placement in B.A. Honours in History. Even though the college has a good placement record in general, if you are a history honours student, you should focus on higher education opportunities rather than getting placed here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average and the building seems a bit old from the inside. There is Wi-Fi connectivity in the college but it does not work in all the places, barring a few specific spots. The mobile network is also negligible at the college. The library is big and spacious, with a good internet connection and air conditioning. The classrooms seem a bit old-fashioned and give off messed-up and clogged vibes, but different rooms have different capacities and equipment.
Faculty: The teachers are all qualified but there seems to be a lack of seriousness regarding the syllabus and curriculum among the teachers. Sometimes, the teachers talk out the entire duration of the class over irrelevant topics. There is also a political element in the teachers, who each support a different ideology and this shapes their teaching in that direction.

Our college has good faculty members.
Placements: This course won't provide good placement opportunities. This course has much relevance in government exams. Many students want to pursue MBA. It depends on their interest.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Many old colleges are situated near our college, so some areas are old. Our college has new buildings. Wi-Fi facility is available 24X7 in our college. Classrooms are equipped with projectors. The library has more than 5,000 - 6,000 books. Our college has a study room. It is comfortable. It is equipped with Wi-Fi and air-conditioners. The hostel facilities are good. The hostel has a sports room. They provide many facilities. The food served in the hostel is good. Medical facilities are available in our college. Our college has a good canteen. Our college has 2 playgrounds for football and basketball and a gymnasium.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. They have good teaching skills. They are helpful. The course structure is similar to government exams like UPSC, SSC, etc. The course curriculum helps crack various exams. Semester exams are moderate. If you study well, you can pass exams. The pass percentage is around 90-95%.
Other: I opted for this course to become an IAS. The best thing about teachers and students is that they are very crazy about education. They are supportive. The course curriculum is good. Many events and fests are held in our college. Our campus is good.
