Q:   Which is a better college among Hindu College, LSR and Hansraj for BA (Hons) admission?

A:

All these colleges under the University of Delhi, namely Hindu, Hans Raj and LSR are considered to be the top colleges for Arts, Science and Commerce education. The following table contains a fee range and median salary comparison of Hans Raj College with other top colleges of DU offering BA & BA (Hons) courses:

College Name

BA & BA (Hons) Fee Range

BA & BA (Hons) Median Salary

Hans Raj College

INR 540*

INR 6.50 LPA

Hindu College

INR 52,680 - INR 52,770*

INR 7.11 LPA

LSR College

INR 46,110 - INR 77,610*

INR 6.5 LPA

*The above fee and salary information is taken from unofficial sources and hence, is indicative. Students are requested to visit the official website to get more details on the same.

Based on the components mentioned in the above table, Hans Raj College seems to be the most affordableoption of the three. However, that is not the same. After adding all the other admission fee components in the tuition fee, the total fee for BA (Hons) will go almost to the level of LSR and Hindu. However, the median salary offered at all the three is closed to each other with Hindu being on the top. Hence, students are required to consider the return on investment by comparing the overall fee and return salary to make a final decision. The final decition must also depend on the availability of the specialisation that a sudent is willing to get into and other factors, such as location proximity with their residence, preference of course available, among others

Absolutely satisfied, loved the blend of academic emphasis and fun and enjoyment.
Placements: Coming from the arts stream and being a first-year, I won't be able to guide you much about placements. However, one thing is for sure: the placements for commerce students are quite good here, after SRCC. Besides, the internship societies of Hindu College will keep you informed about every upcoming internship, that too reliable.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Hindu College is hands down the best, with the construction of new labs and a research institute solely to assist students doing their research. Also, since I reside in the girls' hostel of Hindu College, I can give you insights about it as well; it is well-equipped with air conditioning in each room, automatic washing machines, a fridge, an induction cooktop, and a water cooler on every floor. There's also a badminton court for recreation. The canteen of Hindu College is undoubtedly the best among the colleges of Delhi, with good quality food at a reasonable price.
Faculty: Since I come from BAP (History + Political Science) with a cutoff of 784, second highest after Political Science honors, I can guide you on this subject. The teachers are very experienced and enlightened, with a strong hold on their subject. Besides, talking of semester exams, you just need to have a good knowledge of your topic, and going through PYQs is a must. This alone will earn you a good CGPA.
Other: Besides the academic side, the societies of Hindu are also something to look forward to. Many societies like Caucus, Vagmi, Symposium, Ibtida, and many more (in the arts field) are your gateway to a newer you and to explore yourself.

It is the best college at Delhi University.
Placements: Our college provides many placement opportunities. Almost 30% of students get placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA. The average salary package offered is 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Nation with Namo, ICICI Bank, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: Hindu college has one of the best infrastructures in the entire Delhi University. Our college has the best air-conditioned auditorium with Wi-Fi installed, a research center, a canteen, the biggest Library, and Innovative labs. Classrooms are well equipped with smart board computers.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. They are one of the top faculty members of Delhi University. Their way of teaching is unique and interactive. They offer students an opportunity to do research with them. Our college has a credit-based system. Semester exams are easy.

The college has a great vibe, with excellent infrastructure and a lively crowd.
Placements: My course doesn’t offer the best placement opportunities, but other courses like Economics Honours and Statistics Honours do get good campus placements. Overall, the placement scene is decent, and the college offers some good options for those in the right courses.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course is decent, with good classrooms. The library and labs are okay, though not exceptional. As for the hostel, the quality of food in the mess and canteen could definitely improve. Medical facilities are available, and there are basic sports and games facilities as well, but they arena? T top-notch. Overall, it’s manageable but leaves room for improvement.
Faculty: The faculty is a mix of helpful and knowledgeable teachers, though some aren't up to the mark. The curriculum is somewhat relevant, but it doesn't always feel industry-ready. Semester exams can be tough, and while the pass percentage is decent, it depends on the subject. Overall, the teaching quality is decent but not extraordinary.

I am satisfied with the college infrastructure and experienced faculty members.
Placements: Placements are good mostly in science and commerce courses.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of our college are very good. Thousands of books are available in a well-managed library. There are air-conditioners on the second floor of the library which makes it very comfortable for students to study. Hygienic and affordable food is available in the canteen. Labs are available for practicals for science students.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They have extensive experience teaching at the college for many years and are well-versed in the subject. Semester exams are of moderate level. One can score well even after studying for 15 days before the exam.
Other: I chose this course as it is helpful for UPSC aspirants. It helps in clearing the foundation of the topics. Many famous events and fests take place every year which are very helpful for the relaxation of students. Students scoring 99.50% or above in the general category have been given admission to the first list.

The other side of Hindu College.
Placements: Only a few students were placed in my course (5%). The highest package was 15 LPA. Accenture, Nation with NaMo, etc. 15% students get internships in my course. Research Head, Head Consultant were among the top roles. However, students get placed with courses like Economics, Statistics Mathematics, B.Com, etc.
Infrastructure: There are no ACs for my department. Wi-Fi facility is not functional, Library is decent. Classrooms are also okay. Hindu College is going through a very big infrastructure development and the construction in under process. Boys hostel isn't functional as well, poor Medical facilities, Gym doesn’t open. Canteen is not fully functional. No ACs are there. Building is in bad condition.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They are educated in their specific disciplines. The only thing good about Hindu College is the teachers. The course isn't a one which makes students ready for Corporate. Semester exams are pretty easy, the pass percentage is almost 100%.
Other: The college doesn't provide scholarships to the needy. Mecca is the biggest fest of DU celebrated in Hindu College. The college societies in Hindu College are one of the best in DU Circle.

For BA in Hindu College, your marks are very low and the admission process is very tough. Hindu College also has very high cutoffs, but maybe if there is any vacant seat then you can get admission.
