It is an amazing college for future marine engineers.
Placements: 100% of students got placed in executive shipping management. The lowest package offered is 9 LPA, and the highest package offered is 70 LPA. Top recruiting companies are ESM and BP Marine. 100% of cadets got internships from our institute. The top role offered in my course is chief engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided are extravagant, and the infrastructure is marvelous. The institute is properly maintained and has a good garden. There are several labs, like Phoenix lab, Chemistry lab, simulation lab, electronics lab, mechanics lab etc. A library is available. Sports and food are well maintained in the institute, with a good living environment in the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty members are responsible for the completion of our syllabus, and they are very responsible and well educated. The course curriculum is truly relevant and makes cadets ready to face reality in the industry. The semester exams are difficult, but still, our preparation methods make us ready for every examination.
Other: I always wanted to become a navy officer, and so, I opted for this course. My course is completely satisfying. Several events and fests are organised on our campus but for particular hours because of the discipline and limited time for smooth completion of the course. We were rewarded with a scholarship in our final year as per our merit.

Review of Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies.
Placements: Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies provides 100% placements. Executive ship management is our recruiting company. There is a delay in getting the ship which is almost about 3-4 months after the passing out. The ESM company offers top roles up to chief engineer.
Infrastructure: The hostel and cafeteria are very good. The hostel has solar panels, and every kind of facility is available. The cafeteria serves very good food. All kinds of food is served in our cafeteria, like south Indian, North Indian, Chinese etc. Famous architects designed our hostel and cafeteria.
Faculty: The faculty members are very well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. The pass percentage of our college is mostly 90-95%. Highly qualified teachers and well experienced chief engineers and captains teach in our college. It's worth studying here.
Other: I chose this course because my ambition is to become a marine engineer. In this course, everything is fine and good. Scholarships are provided in our college. A lot of extracurricular activities are conducted.

    Our college provides quality education.
Placements: All the students got placed in parent company ESM Singapore, the waiting period to join ship is around 6 months for training. After clearing COC again you have to wait for approximately 8 to 12 months. Best in-house training is available in SIMS. Ships were also there on the campus for better training.
Infrastructure: The best infrastructure was provided in our course. It was a clean and eco-friendly campus located in the heart of Lonavla which is a beautiful hill station. The campus was powered by solar panels. The quality of the food served was good. Hygiene was maintained all the time. We had a fixed menu for the week. Daily they served tea, breakfast, lime juice, lunch, coffee snacks and dinner.
Faculty: We had qualified marine and non-marine faculty members in our college. SIC experienced instructors were generally from the ex Indian navy. There were qualified workshop instructors. All the staff members were very helpful and knowledgeable with good quality of teaching. Even the wardens were qualified and supportive.
Other: They provide good placements and quality education.

Really good infrastructure and faculty that helps bring up future mariners.
Placements: Placements in Samundra are completed on the day you join, this is currently the only marine Institute in India promising 100% inhouse Placements. If you are selected from the interview then your placement is already complete, that is the best part and performance is the University exams does depend, it is based on this marks the order of placement is decided Ofcourse the guy who gets ranked 1st will get placed 1st.
Infrastructure: SIMS can boast about its state of the art infrastructure, the campus uses 90% of its power from solar energy, classrooms are perfect and air conditioned a bad point is there is no Wi-Fi in hostel, library is well-equipped with lots of research books, and extra co caricular activities are fully supported.
Faculty: The teachers are fully qualified, these are not people who teach from textbooks, they are people who has the specific practical knowledge. Eg:- internal combustion engine is taught by a faculty who has worked with a 20 ft IC engine for almpst half of his life. No textbooks in this world can beat that kind of knowledge. So faculty here is world class.

You are eligible to join the B.Sc. Nautical Science course in SIMS (Shipping and Marine Studies) only if you meet the academic and physical requirements. Most of the universities or institutes that provide this course require at least 60% in PCM in board exams.
