B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2027

Really good collage for B.Tech, good infrastructure, and well trained faculty.
Placements: In Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Institute of Technology, Surat Mechanical Branch, 80% of students are placed. The lowest placement in mechanical engineering is 6 LPA and the average placement is 9 LPA. Mainly L&T and automobile companies are coming. Mechanical students were also selected for non-core placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of SVNIT is average for now, but work is in progress for the new academic building. All departments are very good, except mechanical and civil departments. They are also work in progress. In every hostel, a canteen is there and also Wi-Fi is working in the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty is very good in this college. They are not faculty; they are like your parents. They are also teaching very well. SVNIT will have two exams each semester: a midterm and an endterm. The end of the semester is more difficult than the midterm, and the percentage is also high.
Other: The mechanical department at SVNIT wields far more power than the others.

SVNIT is a college where you will grow as a human.
Placements: Around 68.78% of eligible students gets placed in mechanical. The highest salary was around 20 LPA, the lowest salary was 5 LPA, and average salary was about 9 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Samsung, Amazon, Adani group, Infosys, TCS, Asian Paints, etc.
Infrastructure: Hostels with LAN and Wi-Fi are there. One big library is there. Separate buildings for separate branches are there, with classrooms and labs inside. One canteen and dispensary are also there. The quality of the food is good. The gym, sports ground, badminton, tennis court, and pool are also there.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are student-friendly. They teach in a good way and solve doubts. The curriculum is new but some subjects are outdated. But still, the curriculum makes the students eligible to solve real-world problems and challenges.
Other: One annual cultural fest named Sparsh and one technical fest named Mindbend are held along with the celebration of almost all the religious festivals.

All about Sardar Vallabhbhai National institute of technology .
Placements: Percentage of students selected is based on JEE Main counseling. The highest salary package offered was 38 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 9-10 LPA. And the lowest salary package offered was 5 LPA -6 LPA. Top recruiting companies include L&T, Hyundai, and other vehicle-based companies. About 40%-50% of students easily get internships.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, and labs are excellent. Wi-Fi is provided everywhere in the hostel, but it is not available in the classrooms. However, phone signals can be reached. Infrastructure of the department is great. Library is excellent in every aspect and contains almost every type of book.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and well-qualified, with most of did their Ph.D. and specializing in their subjects. A few are among the top 2% of researchers in the world. Teaching quality is good, but it can be a bit boring at times. Course curriculum is relevant, but teaching alone does not make students industry-ready. Semester exams are not too hard.
Other: Mechanical engineering is my course, and I chose it because of my interest in Mechanical Engineering. SVNIT has the best mechanical engineering professors. Everything is good, but practical knowledge should be increased. Fests and events are also good. Sports are great, especially in cricket, basketball, and others, due to the interest in NIT competitions.

3.8

A college with recognition, brilliant clubs, good faculty members, and decent infrastructure.
Placements: Placements are one area where, in this college, you will have no complaints. Almost the entire batch is recruited, with an average salary of 9.2 LPA. Considering the mechanical engineering branch that is also in Surat, which is not an industrial or automobile hub, that is really good. The highest package is the 19 LPA given by BPCL. Companies like Honda, Deloitte, and Reliance also recruit in large numbers with salaries of 12–13 LPA. Other major companies that come to campus are Mercedes, Suzuki, MG Motors, L&T, John Deere, and many more. The internship number without a stipend would be almost 95%, but with a stipend would be close to 25%.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the college is good enough. The classes are a little mediocre for mechanical departments because the building is old, but other departments have newer and better classes. The library is a giant modern piece of architecture. The canteen is really old, but the food is okay. The labs are good. Hostels and mess food are tolerable, considering your expectations should be low.
Faculty: Mechanical engineering has been one of the pioneer branches of this college. The subjects are the same old, but they have tried to make it modern by making us do some drawing on Solidworks or by giving us liberty in labs to try whatever we want to. There are two semesters in a year, with each one being around 5 months long. There are two exams, midsems and endsems, that are held as their names suggest. The difficulty is on the higher side, and evaluation is strict.
Other: There are two festivals on campus. One is the technical fest Mindbend, and the other is the cultural fest Sparsh. Both are great, and you will witness a new side of college during these festivals. The club chapters are also very active. Not just a handful, but plenty of clubs flourish here, with one club for every interest.

Review of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat.
Placements: In my course, that teaches mechanical engineering, 89% of students are placed. The highest package was 44 LPA and the lowest was 4 LPA. Top recruiters are Bajaj Auto, Microsoft, etc. 20% of students got internships at Bajaj Auto. Good knowledge can be gained by studying mechanical engineering.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are the best in terms of academics, and the library has the best books available in offline and online modes. Hostels are not in good condition in terms of maintenance; a new hostel in Bihar, Vajpayee, was the best at that time. Food is good.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is best in mechanical engineering. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready. Exams are difficult everywhere if you do not study carefully. Almost 90 percent is the pass rate.
Other: I had an interest in mechanical engineering. There are two main fests named Sparsh and Mindbend, and freshers named Kashish.

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately.
