Is it worth pursuing BE/BTech at School of Engineering and Technology?

Based on the feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary:

Placement Opportunities: While some students have reported positive experiences with internships and job placements, others have expressed concerns about the lack of placements in the engineering department. According to reports, only a handful of students from the mechanical engineering department got placed in 2019, while others had to rely on self-initiated efforts or placements outside the campus.

Teaching Quality: The faculty members are generally considered knowledgeable and helpful, with many having backgrounds from reputed institutions such as IITs and NITs. The teaching approach is often described as traditional, with a focus on theoretical foundations.

Curriculum Relevance: The course curriculum is said to be limited, but still relevant to the industry needs. However, some students feel that it could be updated to reflect the latest technological advancements.

Infrastructure: The university boasts a world-class infrastructure, with modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational spaces. The hostel facilities are also reportedly comfortable and well-maintained.

Campus Life: Extracurricular activities and social events are scarce, with some students expressing disappointment about the lack of opportunities to engage in co-curricular activities.

Job Prospects: Based on the data provided, the median salary package offered ranges from INR2.5 Lacs to INR3.5 Lacs per annum, depending on the company and the student's performance. Top recruiters include Hero, Honda, Escorts, and Oswal Castings.

Conclusion: Pursuing BE/BTech at School of Engineering and Technology may offer some benefits, particularly in terms of faculty quality and infrastructure. However, prospective students must weigh these advantages against the limitations, such as the relatively low placement rates and outdated curriculum. Aspirants should carefully research the university's strengths and weaknesses before making an informed decision.

Here's a summary in bullet points:

* Pros:
+ Knowledgeable and helpful faculty members
+ World-class infrastructure
+ Comfortable hostel facilities
* Cons:
+ Limited placement opportunities in the engineering department
+ Outdated curriculum
+ Scarce extracurricular activities
+ Low median salary packages
* Takeaway: Research thoroughly, weighing pros and cons before deciding to pursue BE/BTech at School of Engineering and Technology.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2020

There were good placements in 2015 as many companies visited our college.
Placements: Placements are quite low and not effective for engineering, but for other courses like pharmacy and B.Sc, companies visited and hired students. In the last placement session, many students got placed from the pharmacy department in Himalaya company, and students from the mechanical branch of the 2016 batch got placed in Accenture.
Infrastructure: Our college has an open ground and well-maintained classrooms and infrastructure. The playground is good, and the labs are well maintained. New labs are under construction with the latest equipment for students, and this time, the agriculture land is also leased by our college to teach gardening subjects.
Faculty: Teachers here are very cooperative with students. They teach us best, and whenever we have doubts, they solve them. In other co-curricular activities, they support, especially Sachin sir from the CSE department. All faculty members are knowledgeable and know what happens in the industry.
Other: In February 2020, a fest named 2.0 is organised.

The college has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Many companies visit our college for MBA and B.Sc, but for the engineering department, companies came very less. Overall in 2019, one student from the mechanical department got placed in Oswal Pvt Ltd.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was very good and well-maintained. Many new labs were being built for the latest technology, and an upgraded version of the computer is being installed. Our library management is well-maintained, and there is also e-library for students who are not interested in reading books as they can prefer internet reading.
Faculty: Faculty members here are very hardworking for their students. They help every student whenever they need help, even about the subject or other curriculum activities and for sports or any other functions. Teachers make their notes online, and they teach us on projectors.
Other: Our batch is the best among other batches. Most of the events were not intelligent, but they were very creative and enjoyable.

You can opt for this college only if it's in your hometown or near your location.
Placements: Honestly, there is no placement scheme for a better package. I'm in my third year and I haven't seen any of my seniors placed on our campus. Some internship programs are now available; I can count one for my seniors in their fourth year now this year only.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good enough for any engineering student. There are around 5 labs, with computers available in each. The library has a vast number of books and high-quality books are available there for every subject, even competitive exams.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching in the classroom and practicals in the lab are done weekly. The course curriculum is average. I can't comment on industry readiness, but yes, it can give you some knowledge about the course. Average-level exams are not that difficult; we need about 35% to pass them.
Other: I chose B.Tech. CSE, as from my hometown colleges, this university is far better from all around with a name tag attached to it. Events are performed yearly, like one fest per year.

Infrastructure and facilities are very good.
Placements: As per placement, not so many companies come in the engineering department but for others like pharmacy & MBA, companies visits and takes students also. Innodata and HCL were the companies that came to our college in 2018-19 and students placed.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college is very nice. Labs were well designed and equipped and many more labs specially in pharmacy and engineering department being built as per advanced systems. Library is well maintained and clean and e-library is also very attractive.
Faculty: Faculty is so nice to students specially B.Tech (CSE), they help every student in studies and extra curriculum activities. Many events have been organised and sports event also. Teachers work hard for their students and they teach well and students can understand. They repeated as many times as required to make students to understand concepts properly.
