B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2019

Our college is good at everything else except in placements.
Placements: About 10% of the students of our batch got placed in the year 2019. Few students got internships as well. The average salary package offered in this course was 1.2 LPA. The roles, such as system engineer, software developer, technical engineer, etc., were offered to the students.
Infrastructure: Our EXTC department had six well-equipped laboratories, including the project lab. The labs, as well as the library, were well maintained. The library contains plenty of books for a variety of subjects for the students. The department regularly organised seminars and workshops which were beneficial for the students. The food served in the canteen was very good.
Faculty: Teachers of our college were very helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable. Doubts regarding topics were always solved. The teaching quality was excellent. Although the course curriculum was not at par with the industry, and it needs to be updated with more practical approach as compared to theoretical.
Other: I opted for the course because it is dynamic. Many options open after EXTC. Regarding fests, both technical and cultural are celebrated with great enthusiasm here. The campus crowd was decent. Extracurricular activities such as sports and fests were given equal importance as studies for all-round development of the students.

A college with average performance.
Placements: Placement I will say is below average. Reliance came for the placements with the package of 3,50,000 per annum and are offered the designation of networking engineer and recruited 10 people from electronics and telecommunication department. Not many companies visited for recruitment.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is big. It has got a great library with all the required books readily available for reference. Canteen is hygienic as well. Food served there is veg and non-veg. It has good space for parking for approximately 200 two wheelers. Classrooms are big with seating capacity of 50 and more students.
Faculty: Faculty is specialised, every faculty has experience in their area of specialisation of more than 3 years. Faculty members are approachable. For every situation they are available, even if it is for a black book completion or suggestions. They also arrange guest lectures by visiting faculty members.
Other: Events are okay here.

A good experience, but somewhat disappointed with the placements offered.
Placements: The placements for our batch were somewhat okay. 10% of the students got placed. The highest salary offered was 1.8 lpa. The roles offered were of networking. There is a placement cell, but it's not as active as it should be for electronics and telecommunication engineering students. Recently, they have been trying to bring in more companies, and I hope to see good progress.
Infrastructure: Our college had a good and well-kept library. Sports were promoted, and infrastructure includes grounds for various sports. A well-kept badminton court is available. Quality of labs and classrooms is good. Quality of food available needs to be improved. There is no hostel facility. I didn't face any issue regarding infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty for E&TC, in particular, were quite experienced and knowledgeable. They are highly qualified for the job and were quite helpful as well. Their teaching quality was good, and students were highly motivated to achieve their goals. The course curriculum was useful. My overall experience regarding faculty and course curriculum taught was very good.
Other: Our college held a usual 5-day cultural and tech fests. We had a one-day tech event of our own (E&TC) branch. The campus crowd was quite active and friendly. Students have good connectivity amongst themselves. The extra-curricular activities were encouraged as well.

Very good college with good facilities, and placements are very good.
Placements: The college has good placements. If your points were above 7, then you can get an internship in the 3rd year. My senior got 4.5 lacs per annum package. Many students got the opportunities for the placements. Overall, the placements are good. I will give 3.5/5 points for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. Now, they are constructing civil department in the college. Students get free Wi-Fi all over campus. There are many labs in the college. There is a gym facility in the college, which is very good. The library is pretty good. The classrooms are also very good. Many games are played in sports week.
Faculty: The college had good teaching staff. There are very good labs in the college for practical knowledge. Other staff members are also good. Books in the library are very useful for the students. Apart from this, the cleaning staff are very good. I will give 4 out of the 5 for faculty members. There are smart classes for mechanical engineering students. They have an extra building for factory work.

Better to avoid and give yourself a next chance by reappearing for CET than joining this college.
Placements: There are no placements in our college. There is no proper placement cell in our college. Our college provides you with details about the vacancies in companies. Otherwise, you have to look on your own for jobs. If you want to get placed in campus placements, then you have to try some other college.
Infrastructure: Our college has huge space, but most of it is vacant and wasteland. Our college building has free open space, but the classrooms are not well-maintained. Even the canteen is in a bad state. Infrastructure is not up to the mark even though it has a huge space.
Faculty: The faculty members are good and helpful. They will support and guide you properly throughout the course. They have detailed knowledge of the subject. You won't get any industry exposure. Attendance is not a big issue, but the designed course won't make you ready for the industry needs.
Other: Only a few events are held in the college. There is no budget to organise more events. Most of the crowd is from the local area and Thane. The campus connectivity is a big issue because the college is 4 km away from Dombivli station. The only option you have is a share auto. The college is located in such a place where you will not find any good place to hang out.

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is B.E./B.Tech at Shivajirao S.Jondhale College of Engineering (SSJCOE) Worth the Investment?

Based on the reviews from current students and alumni, here are some key points to consider:

* Placement Opportunities: While some students reported getting placed, others mentioned that the college doesn't prioritize placements, making it challenging for students to secure jobs. Only 10% of students in one batch got placed, while another batch saw only one company visit for recruitment.
* the highest Salary Package: The highest salary package offered was around 5 LPA, while the lowest was around 2.5 LPA. Average salaries ranged from 2-4 LPA.
* Recruiting Companies: Some notable companies that have recruited students include Infosys, Wipro, Mira, Ubon, Siemens, Godrej, and Jio, among others.
* Internship Opportunities: Around 60-70% of students got internships, with some reporting that the college doesn't facilitate internships, leaving it up to individual students to seek them out.
* Faculty: Teachers were described as helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive, with some having PhD degrees.
* Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, with well-maintained classrooms, libraries, and labs. However, some areas require improvement, such as Wi-Fi coverage and canteen amenities.
* Course Curriculum: The course curriculum was deemed relevant and industry-focused, helping students become industry-ready.

Considering these factors, while SSJCOE may not excel in terms of placements, it seems to have strengths in terms of faculty quality, infrastructure, and relevance of the course curriculum. However, potential students should carefully weigh the pros and cons before investing in the program.
