Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Courses at Shyam Lal College

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. courses at Shyam Lal College:

    * Limited Placements: Unfortunately, the placement cell seems to have limited success in placing students from the B.A. courses. According to several reviews, half of the students who look for college placements generally get placed through on-campus drives with an average salary of INR15-20,000 per month (Source: Review 14).
    * No Direct Jobs: Alumni feedback suggests that students rarely get directly placed into jobs through the college's placement cell. Instead, students often require additional skills or practical experience to secure employment (Sources: Reviews 23, 27).
    * Improvement Efforts: While the placement cell may not have achieved significant success yet, there are signs of improvement efforts underway. For instance, the college is actively working on inviting more companies for campus selections, particularly in the sciences and economics sectors (Source: Review 12).

Overall, while the placement cell at Shyam Lal College appears to face challenges in placing students from the B.A. courses, there are indications that the institution is working towards improving its recruitment processes.

Honest Review on Shyam lal college (Delhi University). .
Placements: Our college has a placement cell. Every year, it invites different companies like WIPRO, etc. to provide placement to the students. It helps the students to acquire jobs. The average package is around 400,000 to 500,000 LPA. The highest package is around 800,000 LPA. The percentage of students getting placements is around 40 to 50 percent. Our college also provides internship programs to the students. The stipend is around 4,000 to 10,000 and may vary according to your skills and contribution to the company. For information about these internship programs, you have to contact the college office.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure consists of two buildings for classes, parking, a printing shop, an ATM, a playground, various courts for different sports, a garden, a canteen, an amphitheater, a porch area, club and society rooms, and sports rooms. There is also a library, an auditorium, and labs for different subjects are available. The only thing that our college lacks is hostel facilities. There are no hostel facilities provided by the college to students.
Faculty: The faculty members of the college are very nice and qualified to teach in the subjects they master. They are not so strict to some extent and do not pressure you to make notes. They are always open to clearing your doubts and are very lenient in giving marks. Their teaching style is also exceptional, as they will teach you from the basics. The semester examination is pretty easy if you understand the concept and solve PYQs. The percentage of students getting passed is more than 87%.
Other: I chose this course because it is flexible and innovative, and it allows me to explore subjects other than my core subjects. It also helps me in building a basis for my UPSC preparation. The college arranges a fresher party every year for welcoming new students, and it also hosts a fest at the end of the academic year. You can also join the fests of other colleges that come under Delhi University by showing your ID cards. The college provides scholarships and financial aid.

Review of Shyam Lal College (Delhi university).
Placements: I am the core member of the placement cell of Shyam Lal College, and our cell tries to reach out to HR of all the big companies to invite them for campus drives. Although the recruitment ratio is lower as candidates aren't satisfied with the job opportunities they get as it's not a well-reputed college on the North campus.
Infrastructure: The college comprises two buildings, with 2 playgrounds, a nursery, a library, science labs, 3 computer labs, and at least 2 staircases with washrooms on every floor. The college is well maintained by authorities, and the cleanliness of the college has helped it gain NAAC A+ rating as well. But it doesn't provide students with lift and air conditioning facilities in regular classrooms. And also, projectors placed in classrooms are not working many times.
Faculty: All the faculty members are Ph.D. holders and doing research work as well along with their teaching careers. As well as the office staff, they aren't very cooperative, as they are very strict with the office timings and sometimes often work as SBI bank staff members.
Other: Overall, the college is very average.

It’s an average college in Shahdra.
Placements: The placements are not very impressive at Shyam Lal College. Even though the college boasts a rich portfolio of top companies, but in reality not many companies have been coming recently. Some of the recruiters are Paytm, Unacademy, etc. The average package offered was INR 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also average and just meets the requirements. There is nothing extra ordinary or fascinating about the college infrastructure. We do have our own auditorium, playground, air conditioned labs and regular classrooms. Hostel facility is not there.
Faculty: Some or the teachers are helpful while the others don't really bother much. But it is fun to study here with interesting sessions that take place. The exams are difficult for me. We have to add a subjective insight to our answers and the theory we read. I hope this helps.

Really a good college which has a good campus and faculty members.
Placements: There are a total of more than 150 students in BA (Hons.) English, which are divided into two sections, and there are various opportunities for students to get the internship, and out of 150, 93 or 94 students got internships, which is a large number. There are various roles offered in the course, like digital marketing, copywriting, journalism, translation, publishing, law, teaching, HR executive, mass communication, scriptwriting, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the whole college is the same, where it provides Wi-Fi, 2 libraries, and labs for different purposes. Along with this, all classrooms are well furnished. There's no hostel facility in the college, but there are various PGs within 1 km of the college for 4k-5k per month.
Faculty: Teachers are excellent in their respective subjects; along with this, they have knowledge of other fields also, which they share with students. The teachers not only teach about books but also about how to be a good human, how to live life, etc. The semester exams are held in two parts, and it's not too difficult to get passed in the examination.
Other: The course B.A. (Hons.) English is not only for getting jobs or getting settled in life, but it teaches us our literature and knowledge about our culture; also, it develops communication skills, and overall, it's a very nice course to be chosen.

Our college provides very good and clean infrastructure.
Placements: The placement cell is not active. Only a few students get internships or jobs through college placements. The highest salary package offered is around 10 LPA to 12 LPA. Our college has an active placement cell that helps students to find job opportunities.
Infrastructure: Shyam Lal College, University of Delhi has good infrastructure with modern classrooms, labs, and a library. Our college has a nice garden.
Faculty: Faculty members and the course curriculum are good. They are satisfied. The teaching staff is humble, friendly, and cooperative. They are very helpful. The evening faculty is top-notch and encourages students to pursue vocational studies. Subjects in the course are interesting for students who want to pursue higher degrees.

Review of Shyam Lal College, University of Delhi.
Placements: If you are choosing B.A. in this college, just forget about the placement because there is no placement for B.A. students. And you should not be studying here for placement; just study for a degree and search for other options for placement because that will be a better decision.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The classrooms are neat and clean; every class has a projector, and benches are not so good and not so bad. The canteen is also not so good because the AC is not in working condition but the food is tasty and the price is also good. And the library is very good; it has a good amount of books and the infrastructure is also very good. Medical facilities are not so good. And sports and games are there and there are NCC and NSS also.
Faculty: Teachers are very good and their explanation is very good; they have a lot of knowledge and they are helpful. They also give good guidance and always cooperate with you. And this course is relevant, but it does not make you industry-ready; it makes it easy to fight for competitive exams. And the semester exams are not so difficult and the passing CGPA is 5.5.
Other: I chose this course because I like studying history and it was my passion. And the best thing about my course is that we learn so many things beside studies, like we will be able to see how archeology works. And events are also not there on the college campus. The crowd is decent and there is no college near this college. The main thing I want to make clear is that this is off-campus college; it is not the best college on the north campus.
