The admission process for SIT is a multi-step process, including application, course-specific selection rounds, etc.

2. Selection rounds: The selection is based on entrance exam score for some courses like BTech, MBA, etc. For rest of the courses, merit in the last qualifying exam is considered for admission. The institute might conduct PI round for a few courses.

For instance, direct admission is available for the BHM (Bachelor of Hotel Management) programme, which is based on the results of the MAKAUT CET (Common Entrance Test). Furthermore, for the academic year 2022–2023, SIT has scheduled internal common entrance exams for direct admission in a number of streams.

However, admission to the majority of B.Tech programmes is determined by the results of entrance tests such as WBJEE or JEE Main.

West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation provides Post-Matric Scholarships and Merit-cum-Means Scholarships. For renewal, the applicant will be eligible for the scholarship if he/she has obtained 50% aggregate in his/ her previous examination.

The total tuition fee of BTech is INR 4.80 lakh.
